I am an active supporter of the Anarcho-Primitivism movement as well.
Let us go back!
To when we had no Vault Space, no Exotic Kiosks or Emotes. No variation of Sparrows or Shaders.
I too, loved Vanilla Destiny.
I too, loved getting disconnected 1 minute into every game due to the excessive Weasel error codes.
I too, thoroughly enjoyed getting pub-stomped by Suros and Vex users.
I too, loved having no Exotic Swords, no Exotic variation and Gjallahorn requirements.
I too, loved having no guaranteed way to get relevant PvE Exotics.
I too, loved having no bounty space.
I too, loved having only one PvE Endgame content activity.
I too, loved having separate legendary marks.
I too, loved not being able to purchase planetary materials with legendary marks.
I too, hate this community in all of it's entirety.

An MMO is meant to be a marathon, not a sprint. A lot of the "good" you mentioned actually turned Destiny into a repetitive, non challenging hamster wheel. This game was meant to be an MMO by the way. Nobody misses glitches, but they could have easily kept the challenge in the game and worked out the bugs and kinks(like disconnections, vault space). They didn't have to turn it into a joke of a game where everyone gets a trophy just for logging in, exotics fall in your lap at a pace where they aren't even special or "exotic" anymore. The Suros and Vex meta was just like every other meta, it just stands out to you because exotics were a lot harder to get back in those days. But technically it's just like the Last Word meta, the Doctrine of Passing meta, the Clever Dragon/Grasp of Malok meta that have come and gone. I'm pretty sure people aren't calling for the vault space to go back to the way it was, they are shaking their heads at why the game is so easy now and why the content is so repetitive. If the RNG was too much for you then this type of game probably isn't for you because you aren't suppose to play for 1 week, or do a raid 3 times and have all of the gear from it, with the exact rolls you want.

18 RepliesAnd even with its many problems was the most fun era of destiny. Funny how that works. (And just fyi you cant say an era was bad because it didnt have something we have now IE swords thats like saying the original star wars were bad because they didnt have jarjar binks.)

1 ReplyHaving seperate marks was definitely better.
-
23 Repliesdelet this this game peaked during HoW and has been in a downward spiral ever since
-
You forgot about Crucible and Vanguard Commendations. Remember those?

6 RepliesI prefer chocolate destiny...
-
9 RepliesPvP was 10x better then versus now...
-
7 RepliesExotics were really exotic and valuable. "Exotic kiosk" and 3oC broke that smooth grind flow.
-
6 RepliesThat feeling when you got gallyhorn/ black hammer / ice breaker etc. has totally disappeared , and pvp just goes from one joke to another joke to this day:)
-
Of all the things they -blam!-ed up, exotic kiosk, 3 of coins and removing exotic bounties in favour of new quests was by far, the worst mistake they made. Exotics used to be worth so much more than they are now

1 ReplyDon't forget pumping like 18 ascendant materials into every single legendary item to fully upgrade it.
-
1 ReplyI never had problems with disconnecting in year one. I don't want vanilla destiny back what I want is to be new to destiny again the feeling when first doing VoG and not totally understanding how Destiny fully works was exciting and intense, and because of how new if an experience it was nothing could ever live up to the feelings that it invoked. Also hand cannons were great and that's truly what I want.

1 ReplyWow. Sounds like Vanilla Destiny sucked. No wonder why so many people quit playing this game.

Edited by Clever Little Rat: 5/3/2017 11:43:42 AMI miss those days man, back when both the game and my life were good. ;-; Edit: Oh shit this was a joke post. Abort, ABORT!!!

1 ReplyIt must have been terrible finishing the campaign at launch and realising you'de played every piece of pve content available.
-
Quite simply I had WAY MORE fun in year 1. Fun > Everything else
-
I'm glad you enjoyed it as well Year 1 was so much better than anything since
-
1 Reply-blam!-ing Christ dude! Do you have to be a dick to everyone?
-
3 RepliesThe game was fun then all the year 2 cry babies ruined this game

6 RepliesEdited by Attika: 5/2/2017 11:24:49 PMI appreciate their nostalgia, but I remember rage quitting the game entirely at least four times during the first year. The materials/weapon grinding. The hours I spent getting my first exotic engram only to get a Titan helmet for my hunter. Decoding hundreds of legendary engrams into blues. Being forced to grind Raids that dropped absolute crap loot. Grinding the same four strikes for weeks, for a few legendary guns with mediocre rolls. I remember watching all my friends quit, even angrier and burnt out than I was, and being completely unable to play half the game without them because Raids were the only way to get non-shit gear. People are kidding themselves if they think Vanilla was remotely acceptable, much less on par with The Taken King.
-
When most people say they liked vanilla Destiny the most I think they mean year 1 as a whole. I believe that the reason most people do that is because the first two "expansions" felt like cut content repackaged as dlc, (especially Dark Below).
I too, loved getting disconnected 1 minute into every game due to the excessive Weasel error codes. I too, hate this community in all of it's entirety.
Still happening.
I too, thoroughly enjoyed getting pub-stomped by Suros and Vex users.
Well, i will choose y1 meta to this boring meta, which made me stop playing, every time.
I too, loved having no guaranteed way to get relevant PvE Exotics.
Well, browse youtube y1 exotic reactions and maybe you can understand what an exotic means. With this system exotics have no value at all. Everybody has everything.
I too, loved not being able to purchase planetary materials with legendary marks.
Well, maybe you will not believe me but l found most of my destiny friends while patrolling for planetary materials. People spent hours for it, and helping each other. Patrol meant something for us back then. Probably you can't understand what i am trying to say, i just tried.
