i just think they should lift the one of each exotic restriction so its just any 2 exotics.

My guess is the exotics will have the guaranteed "best" roll as well, right? Unless I missed something in the stream. That would def make them "exotic".

What's the difference? Just give the players a legendary version of the wepon.

I think they should just gift them to anyone who's been holding onto VOG and Crota primaries since before the taken king and refused to break them down in all that time because they refused to "look at the weapon they loved and decide it had become obsolete". I don't give a -blam!- about their hopes to keep people grinding. If you held onto a treasured weapon all this time, spent months grinding to get components to upgrade it to max level, you deserve your weapon back. They keep these stats. If you've had the weapon since before taken king, have bought every expansion from Dark Below to Ironic Erection, then the weapon in your vault or inventory will be upgraded to the new exotic version as part of the patch installation, or else you need to go to the gunsmith and pay 100 motes and 100 strange coins and he'll upgrade the weapon for you. Something only open for people who have held onto these things for the longest. "Why?" will ask some people. 1. You held onto it all this time. You earned it year one. You shouldn't be asked to earn it again. 2. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of players have quit this game entirely. Being told "hey if you still had that weapon we're giving it back to you" will get some of them to come back and dust off the game just because they'll feel valued and respected. 3. Because there are tons of things worth grinding for. Including new armors. New ornaments. Probably other new exotics. These weapons are only one small part of what is meant to keep people playing. 4. And rather some of you people want to accept it or not this is a valid point. The people who have been playing the longest have paid significantly more into this game than new comers. Ignoring microtransactions entirely, day one players bought the vanilla game. Bought dark below, bought house of wolves, bought taken king, bought ironic erection... We kept on shelling out money. A lot you bought the game for next to nothing on the used rack. A lot of you bought in at taken king and got the original game and two dlcs for basically free. A lot of you bought in at ironic rection and got the whole game series up to now for free. The people who have played every dlc that came along have paid a -blam!-ton of money into this game. And I'm sorry. But that needs to be respected. And not by giving people emblems for having hung around all this time. These people have held onto those weapons all this time? You owe them something for the time and money they've already invested, and it isn't another carrot on a string to keep people grinding. There are other players who have been here since the first week who will be delighted to grind again for weapons they already have. I can't imagine why. But it's an opinion they are entitled to. But rather they'll say it or not, none of them would be upset to install the patch and find the weapon waiting for them in their inventory or from the exotic weapons kiosk. People who will be upset are people who do feel taken advantage of. And when the player base is already this small, they don't need to be pissing off more people. It costs them nothing to make this token gesture. It could cost them a lot not to. But I guess we'll never really know.

It's a compromise. A player will be able to have the small bonus damage that the element gives, but it is at the cost of it being an exotic-tier item. Having bonus elemental damage makes the weapons objectively more lethal in PvE content. It is a small increase, but it is an increase non the less. I am not a fan of having elemental damage on primary weapons, but having them be exclusive to challenge rewards in the end-game raids is the best way to handle it. It brings an incentive for players to run that content and will allow players to feel rewarded for it on the loot spectrum. Them being exotic also brings an extra bit of flair to them and makes them stand out more.

They made them exotic for a reason

man this community is just a bunch of petulant children. we get things back but it's never "good" enough. take of the nostalgia blinders perhaps. i don't mind an exotic adept. there are plenty viable specials and heavys to make some good to great load outs.

No offense man, but are you dumb? The entire point of them being exotic is that you have to make a sacrifice for the primary elemental burn -_-. You are simply fishing for pointless upvotes.

I voted 'No!' and would like to let you now why. I like that they are now exotic and the player has decisions to make. I do with they made them with rainbow burns though.

Or...or...go with me here...they could just [spoiler]give every primary a burn and be done with it. Boom. No more "op raid weapons," because every weapon has a burn, and raid weapons have raid specific perks so there is still an incentive to use them.[/spoiler]

No, because that defeats the purpose. The whole point of this was to not bring back the error of having OP raid elemental legendaries that everyone will use and nothing else. Making them exotic to get the elements strikes a balance. No more combos of elemental god roll primaries with things like Gjallarhorn or Icebreaker. We should have to choose, not just all run around with the exact same OP loadout. It would be a different case if we could turn any weapon into an elemental of our choice, but it's not. If it were, they wouldn't need to do this.

If they had the life exotic perk then what would the point of them being exotic be? Why not just make them legendarys?

Sure. The perks on the weapons aren't as powerful anymore, so you probably have much better weapons in your vault. VoC and Fang look pitiful when compared to the old vendor Hung Jury for example.

That's never going to happen. They want you to sacrifice your exotic slot for the primary burn dude. Thats pretty obvious.
