Fresh Start. A good thing
Sure I played a lot and some times I grinded way too much. Over all I had fun doing it. My problem with this Iron Banner was that I have nothing left to earn. But i am still playing because it is fun.
We all knew this would come.
Honestly I am happy.
Give me new stuff to earn.
I have all the rolls I could ever use. I have all the gear I need.
Hopefully our gear will not fit in with the new loot system. That s what I am hoping.
And my initial thoughts was that shader and emblems could come forward cuz it would be cool to brag that we were here and did kings fall or wrath. We want our legend to be remembered.
Bungie said they would do that in the twab. So we will all be fine.

Some one brought up a good point. All your gear and shaders will stay here in d1. If they came forward then there would be no point to ever play d1.

1 ReplyI'm totally fine with a lot of those things not carrying over. I've played most of them for 2-3 years, I'm satisfied. I want to experience new, not old. Plus, they're giving something for veterans to take into D2. That will likely be unique and exclusive for those who care about such things. Overall I'm looking forward to the finish line run for D1, and beyond ecstatic for D2

Personally, I would very much like to carry over my character because I like the idea of it, but start from a low level and play through the game from the start Story missions won't be as enjoyable if I'm doing a level 5 mission at 40, or having extra character slots so I could make a fresh character would also be nice

It's definitely a [i]good[/i] thing, but it still kinda sucks- there's a good chance I'll never see Fatebringer, ir TFC in Destiny 2, but it'll give the devs a solid chance to fux any unbalanced weapons, by having a fresh start. Either way, I'm gonna be unhappy. Sucks, but there's not much I can do about it.

They could have brought everything foward introduced new (useful) perks for our gear so people will try to grind for them. Also introduced new gear and pve content. As for pvp, scrap all of the maps and design them to be better suited for primary engagements. Also introduce a new subclass and for that matter a class in general (maybe an Iron Lord) so we can carry 4 characters.

i'm still grinding 3v3 clips for my montage so i'm enjoying myself. for me, i play destiny for the pvp. i did wrath of the machine hard mode twice in year three and i'm 400 light. before i did hardmode wrath of the machine, the last raid i had done was oryx challenge in like last june. i can't stand raids and sometimes i do strikes to try for an LDR. i don't play for the grind or the loot or the light level. i play because i genuinely enjoy pvp. so destiny will always be fun for me regardless of content droughts or that kind of thing. plus, people act like when D2 comes, D1 won't exist. it will probably still be playable years from now, so you aren't really leaving anything behind.

"[i]But this article from 2014 says our stuff will carry over!"[/i] That may have been the plan at the time, but a lot can happen in development over 2 years. If starting over upsets you so much, then don't buy Destiny 2.

Since nothing is going to be transferred over, I say its a great time to mess around in PvP. See how many suicides you can get in one match, use a warlock, self res and die again. I doubt anyone can go 0-49 like I did during HoW. I also want to see if its possible to get my ELO down below 200 (preferably below 100) I have to try that after work tomorrow.

When you get D2 and install it and boot the game up. when your met with the Notice onscreen asking. "Would you like to transfer your D1 Guardians over to Destiny 2?" you know what you can do? just Press NO and BAM you got a fresh start. while the rest of us who want to keep our characters in destiny 2 just press YES. No ones holding a gun to your head saying if you press no then you get your brains blown out. we as human beings have the intelligence needed to make our own decisions. we don't need others to think for us. Stop trying to force your shit on others who don't want it. This community acts as tho if transferring is possible your forced to do it with your D1 Chars. NO YOUR NOT FORCED. there's this thing that i dont see a lot of people nowadays use. its called Middle ground. Oh hey you want to Transfer your character? Press Yes. You want to start fresh? Press No. then again this is the destiny community. Intelligence in 90% of this community is severely low.

Don't mind leaving the gear behind, it wouldn't make sense to keep it all, but I would like to at least be given the option to keep a couple cosmetics or for Bungie to make some cosmetics only accessible to Destiny 1 players (I.E shaders or emblems). The Moments of triumph/Age of triumphs would be cool if they transferred over. Would kinda make sense if they did, the whole point of these are to show that you played the game during that time. I just think it would be cool for us to have the same thing in Destiny 2 but with Destiny 1 as a whole.

3 RepliesLook at how terrible Titan Fall was and look at how great it's sequel redeemed Respawn Studios. I am extremely confident that Bungie can do the same with Destiny. Now that Activision placed their own people into Bungie Studios, the slate is clean and hopefully they can progress Destiny in unity from this day forward. So cheers to a Fresh New Beginning for everybody!!!!!!

When is the last time you were genuinely shocked or excited by Destiny. I love playing it and have put in ton of time. With that said nothing is fall out of your chair exciting anymore. Nothing is truly new. A brand new game will bring that. That moment when you opened the exotic chest and got Vex or Gjally. The moment Fatebringer dropped after the Oracles/Templar. That first time you took down Crota running sword. Beating Skolas with no burn. Getting the Cerberus Vae ship. Going to Xur so excited to see what he would bring that I have been coveting for a year! My biggest request is make exotics exotic again. Way too easy to get and now they are not appreciated nor as good as they should be. I don't get Gjally for 9 months. Was so awesome when I did. Now people freak when they don't get Icebreaker after the first weekend. And make them better than legendaries. Just a smidge.

y'all acting like destiny will be dead when D2 comes out. what if D2 sucks and everyone prefers classic destiny? the game will still work. the servers will stay online.
