Dummy's(or new player's)guide to overwatch
•the usual and reliable team composition is 2 dps(offense or defense, usually offense), 2 tanks, and 2 healers so everyone stays alive
•be willing to bite the bullet and swap if needed
•communicate, it just could break defensive lines or save your team
[u]a pinch of personal salt for people who do this below here[/u]
•our 2 dps heroes should not be hanzo and widowmaker(i hate placements)
•no, roadhog should not be solo tank
•if you decide to play ana, please prioritize healing and not shooting the Reinhardt barrier when im RIGHT NEXT TO YOU AND CRITICAL HEALTH, GOD
•if you stand in front of the shield, it will not protect you and you will be in no mans land, forced to be fired upon by the entire enemy team
•bastion wont work on volskaya offense
•damnit zenyatta, dont waste transcendence when you are low health
•i dont care if you are in the "top 500 hanzo", we need a tank
•for the love of god, dont always blame support for your death when you rushed in solo

14 RepliesHere's a question for you guys, but first some story. Im dva, have soldier and some other dps in my team, get gold medals in everything except healing obviously. I send hate mail with screen shot of my results to soldier. Guy tells me that is common on dva to have that. Now, is it really common for a tank in concrete dva, to have gold everything?

1 ReplyAdd this to the list: Having gold for most kills doesn't mean anything if you are playing a dps character. Bragging about gold eliminations as a dps character is like a healer bragging about gold healing. It's expected of you (as a dps character) to have the medals for eliminations anyway. That's just for all the dps characters doing their own thing instead of waiting for the team.

8 Replies1. Pick Soldier 2. Shoot to fill ult meter 3. Ult the enemy team, win. 4. Don't pick Widowmaker on attack, you're not helping. 5. Bastion or most other defenders aren't helping either. 6. Tracer is for beginners, getting hyped after killing someone or multiple is pointless. 7. Don't pick Sombra if you have no idea what you're doing. 8. Mei is for the bad players, no need to get upset when she kills you. 9. Don't rush in as reinhardt assuming everyone is literally right next to you so you can die instantly.. 10. Always vote for a healer than did a good job, even if you're DPS and have 33 elimination kill steak, the healer is the reason you won..

Bastion can work on any map as long as you can position yourself in a good spot. It actually helps a lot if you are having a tough time getting through a teams defense.

1 ReplyThis may be common knowledge, but don't solo queue comp. I just got the game a few weeks ago & decided to play in S3. Got placed in gold(2200) & literally lost every game after & felt like my teammates got worse. Now I'm down to 2033. Even played a game where my entire team left

If you're trying to get back to the point and you see your team start dropping like flies, for the love of God, fall back and regroup as they respawn. This is not call of duty and you can't God mode solo an entire team.

1 ReplyAdvanced Tips (From a Master Player): -Zenyatta is the best friend of anyone in Platinum and Below. -Lucio is the king support. (Lucio/Zen combo is the strongest in Plat and below.) -Bastion is good in a secondary defense. This means pull him out when defending a second time. He catches the attacking team off guard. (Don't forget to be relocating). -Reinhardt is necessary, if you don't have a Reinhardt and the enemy does, you are at a disadvantage. -Mei is a better tank than Roadhog. -Pharah is the king DPS in Plat and below. Soldiers and McCrees have a hard time killing her. -Don't be afraid to push. Get a kill and tell Reinhardt to charge, after that clean up and go. -Get the High ground. People who do this will win. You are at a significant angular advantage to people below you.
