Why do they believe in what they do?
My personal opinion is that they're just overly superstitious.

My opinion is i better have to ask to find out, unless you're wearing something obvious. Because i don't give a shit whether you are religious or an atheist, but if you can't go a day without telling people about it you are a pos

Edited by Cho: 12/6/2016 10:20:05 PMI don't mind what religion you are or what you do as long as it isn't harmful and you don't try to shove it down the throat of anyone and everyone who doesn't believe. Apart from that, I couldn't care give a damn (in a nice way)

1 ReplyAs a religious person I may be overly biased here. I don't see why atheists have such a problem with Christians. Especially the vast majority who are content to help out charitable organizations and spend time helping others. We're normal people just like you and everyone else. The only difference is what we believe in. Don't see why that makes us separate or different.

2 RepliesI have no issue with religious people until they try to use religion to justify harming others. That is where I draw the line.

Pray for those who persecute you. If you only love those who love you....then where is the reward in that?" "That which you do unto the least of my brothers, you do unto me." Words to live by.

Edited by Guardian0298: 12/5/2016 7:14:24 AMThey are fanatics and crazies that can't be reasoned with science or reality. All religions are hypocritical except the LaVeyan Satanists who acknowledge the same stuff as atheists; free will and pointing out the fallacies in the world's common faiths.

3 RepliesEdited by Pocket Infinity (Adept): 12/4/2016 12:26:40 AMI live in Southwest Missouri. When I told people I was atheist, I was legitimately beat up. People around here do not like hearing that. All these "Christians" are supposed to be accepting and great and kind, but all I've seen is these Christians being discriminating against people who aren't just like them I'm also a Democrat. I'm opposite of everyone else. Here, they're all Republican Christians. I'm a Democratic Atheist. I've been beat up (like I said), picked on, given nicknames (actually, I do like one of them. The Flaming Liberal...)

To each his/her own. I'm not self-righteous or illogical enough to say what's true or what isn't or what's silly or what isn't when the fact is that none of us really know anything. There are no facts or evidence either way, and such unknowns are are probably unknowable and are often a personal matter, subject to interpretations. Beliefs or no position at all is all there really is, so hey, live and let live. So long as you aren't harming or ridiculing others, I say go for it, but personally, I tend to question everything. Constantly.

1 ReplyMost religious people I've encountered are extremely nice people. Even though I find their beliefs a bit loony, most are able to compartmentalize their beliefs well enough. By that I mean they understand that everyday, real life things are independent of what they believe in. Thankfully it's now rare for someone to forgo medical treatment, opting to pray the disease away instead.

2 RepliesI'm agnostic but I lean slightly towards Christianity.

2 RepliesIf you think about it, if they believe that believing in their religion is the only way you have a chance at heaven/with nirvana/being truly happy how much would that person have to hate you to not try and get you into their religion
