The question that will never be answered
Disclaimer I know my k/d so I'm not claiming anything.
My question is this. How many of you who claim the shot guns don't need a range nerf use it a crutch. I say this will never be answer because no one is honest enough to answer it truthfully.

Shotguns aren't the problem. It's the community that's the problem If it's not shotguns it'll be something else. Bungie doesn't want the crucible to be balanced bc that would reduce the grind

If i feel like getting free easy kills with no effort i put on my shotgun but i dont know how much peoples play style would change even if they get nerfed. These people obviously just use the small maps and easy movment to close the gap so i dont know how much will change.

Just spawn special ammo once and twice a match...problem fixed...no nerfs or buffs needed...

Ive been using shotguns mostly since always. And the nerfs have never bugged me, keep nerfing shotguns and ill keep using them anyways.-.

1 ReplyYou should start a round with full special ammo. The catch would be special would be like heavy in that it comes once in the match.

They dont. The only shotgun being used is the matador and i forsee rangefinder getting the shotpackage treatment after this iron banner.

I dont think they should be nerfed and I use shotguns and snipers. Just buff snipers and/or primaries

Range is not the problem, its just way to much special ammo in crucible. The only fix that needs to happen imo to not start with special ammo.

I used shotguns year one where the range was much more than now, they didnt need a nerf back then, the shotgun we have now are a mere shadow of their former selves, since early year 2 I have run fusions as my special for PvP and it deals with shotty users easily. I know too well if you get within shotty range you are most likely going to be killed so I do my best to stay out of their range and alter my strategy to suit.

The problem is not the range on shotguns. It's the shit primaries that we have. If we had primaries with good stopping power then people would not rely on shotguns or other specials so often.

Like every weapon, it comes down to archetype and perk rolls.. If you want to compete at their limited range, you better get a good one.. or stay outside of 10' And before you ask.. yeah I generally run shotgun because it's the best for up close encounters as I use my primary for every other situation (special kills are behind primary and ability)

I usually don't use a shotty and think the range is fine. The real problem are weak, unreliable primaries. All the nerfing needs to stop and bungie needs to start buffing.
