A few tips to improve your DPS at Aksis
Im in no way saying that Im the best at DPS. That being said, in EVERY group I join, I always double everyone elses damage. I have 4-5 million damage every run. Thats half of Aksis' total health. Everyone is capable of doing what I do. Its not that Im so good at what I do... its that everyone else is just not doing all the right actions at the right time.
Gear used:
>ex machina from the raid
>dark drinker
>sniper reload gauntlets
Every LFG group always says "drop the cannons in the middle for phase 3". Thats the first thing being done wrong. When Aksis is waiting to be stunned, he cannot be critted easily. This means sleeper/snipers are almost useless. The cannon, however, can be used for 100% damage. I can usually get off 2 or 3 cannon shots (130-200k damage) while anyone not using a cannon does 0 damage during this time.
After Aksis can be critted, I drop the cannon and start firing sleeper shots at him until he teleports again. While he is teleporting, i pick the cannon up to fire another 3 shots into him before his head is showing. And repeat. By the end phase, I always have all my ammo burned except for my sniper. I finish off by firing sniper shots at him until its time to stand on the pillar.
A few additional things to note:
You can fire cannon shots at aksis as you move from one side to the next to cover empowerment
Dark drinker is more dps than sleeper but it isnt always worth having to move across the map to damage him. You lose precious damage time

Is there fireteams that cant kill aksis on 5 rounds of damage or what. Why is there a need too repost on this topic Oh and i aint hating on op

4 RepliesWell ya you're going to do more damage than everyone else of you use up all the cannon shots. DPS is never the problem at Aksis it's always people dying or not standing in the correct spot when empowered.

Very good stuff here. I would say to save 6 shots for the 3rd damage phase with a bubble and tether to add to the dps of the canon since thatvis the history dps. I usually do 1 canon shot when he is down, like you do, but not 2 or 3. 6 shots seems to be the max shots you can get off on the last phase with bubble and teacher. I have never understood why people drop canons in the middle. I always take mine everywhere I go.

1 ReplySorry for this probably obvious question, but I've only done Aksis once and want to clarify exactly what you're saying So what you're doing is, before the empowered person stuns Aksis like LeBron James dunking, THAT'S when you fire the cannon, then drop it and shoot your weapon, pick it back up before the next person dunks and shoot the cannon again before he is stunned, rinse and repeat? Sorry if that's literally what you just said, I just woke up lol

Or you can save the cannons for 2nd and 3rd phase and stack the damage buffs on top and do mad damage

While you're charging the cannon you can throw a grenade as well. Especially if you're a warlock it helps with the DPS

I just fire 3 shots of sleeper every round, then switch to my sniper and I get off about 5-6 rounds. Then repeat, then use the rest of my sleeper ammo, then pick up the cannon and use the cannon shots on him for the third round.

2 RepliesThanks for the advice. I'll try it. The way I usually do it is unload my cannon first. Since I run the Raze Lighter or Dark Drinker, I have no heavy for cross map dps. I use the cannon during his teleporting/ getting stunned. I expend the cannon roughly around the 3rd stun, then usually unload my sniper(1000 yard with triple tap, casket mag, spray n play). I do sometimes keep the cannon until 3rd stun and use radiance and fusion nades for the first or 2nd stuns.

It's been proven that the Black Spindle is the second best weapon to use in the Raid for DPS. It's only second to the Dark-Drinker but obviously you are not restricted to proximity.

11 RepliesIt's also important to have WoL active at all times. Hunters can also use Nighthawk to fire off a shot right after a teleport, warlocks should be using Lance nova bombs (the bonus from Viking funeral is so negligible), and any excess Titans should be using melting point and simmering flames on sunbreaker. And discharge every round! Besides the very first teleport, and when he is going to teleport from bottom middle, you only need two people to cover all his possible spawns (left and right guy can also cover bottom middle) so there's always one free guy to discharge.

I think this build might do more dps but I'm not really sure though. On aksis prt 2 have 3 people run Dark Drinker while the other 3 use black spindle. On the first two slams where everyone snipes at aksis have the 3 with spindle snipe at aksis while the other 3 use event horizon with explosive rounds and increased sniper reload speed to dps aksis. On 3rd slam the 3 spindle runners pick up cannons instead of using spindle while the 3 sword runners rush aksis. Have a defender titan and nightstalker running with each group for another bubble on aksis and coordinated tethers.

If you're empowered and Aksis teleports to someone else's side you need to slam your empowerment on the plate the servitor sacrifices on and instantly charge everyone's super. Supers should be spammed every teleport. Weapons bubbles or Melting point, fusion grenades with song of flame and tethers or Celestial Nighthawk should be happening constantly once he teleports. (Not sure if this will still be a thing for heroic) If you're using cannons without a damage buff or supers you're not using it to the best of its potential. *******the more you know

2 RepliesI agree with using the cannons in between spawns. Then crit shots. What I don't agree with is using the sleeper. The Black Spindle does more damage with 15 shots and even more with ammo perks.

Oh god. This sounds way better than jumping on the pillar and seeing cannons laying around with ammo still in them. But... I can only imagine the salt if I suggest doing this to actual teams. Suggesting this would invoke butthurtness and superiority.
