True Pvp players know this.
Thorn: Horrible damage fall off. With the nerf to its burn damage and the artifact to nerf its burn damage even more I think its safe to bring this gun back to a usable state, increase the range (Hawkmoon as well).
Blink: Maybe hunters would use something besides Bones of Eao? I love Bones so if you dont bring blink back to a competitive state, so be it. Not to mention Blink is unique and has a limit on it. So why slow it down?
Arcbolt: Used to be my favorite grenade..now it feels like you are throwing a wiffle ball..not to mention the damage nerf on it.
Firebolt: With the artifact that reduces DOT, why is firebolt not brought back up slightly?
Maybe you agree with my view on these items..maybe you dont. In year one these 4 things made Destiny really fun for me and it sucks that all of them are pretty mediocre now.

1 ReplyThe moment when someone suggests a buff to thorn

Cmon People we can make Destiny great again

1 ReplyI just finished the year 3 thorn quest....I thought I would be on the buff train but its actually really good. By far and away the best of is archetype. Which is more than you can say about almost all the other primary exotics.
-
LOL no all were OP crutches and deserved their nerfs
-
-
You're crazy. Hell no.
-
We can hope.
-
Thorn - no buffs needed. It is annoying enough already.
-
Bump! Although I fear ask and ye shall not receive.
-
Thorn: Maybe Firebolts: Nooooooooo (warlock main right here) ArcBolts: Yes Blink: Buff the warlock helm. The recovery boost does nothing

Agreed

4 RepliesI'd be a lot happier with Thorn if they reverted it back to how it was before *any* of the tweaks and simply cranked up the DoT. I've never liked the idea of it being a spam-weapon. For one thing that's what TLW is for - bursting people down close up (and it can't even do that properly anymore... buff the hipfire already Bungie) Hawkmoon is your mid~long range option with a good rate of fire. But Thorn? It used to be this slow, insidious and methodical killer but not anymore. I want it to be that again. Keep the DoT stacking mechanic (each shot increases the DoT) and increase the potency of the DoT, but set the weapon back down to 6 rounds with a slow rate of fire and reload. Each round fired should really sting and leave opponents reeling from the hits. It would better fit the mythos of the weapon as well, since it's described much this way in the Grimoire but represented entirely differently in-game. And I agree on the other points as well, to a degree at least - Firebolts have always been incredibly frustrating to play against but I've always felt like their damage was fine, just the burn effect was too long so increasing the potency while lowering the duration of the burn would be acceptable. Blink has definitely been hit way too hard, they need to either speed it back up or take away the recovery penalty because both is simply too much. I'm OK with the small delays to aiming after a blink (annoying as it is) since it forces more skillful timing on the user's part and makes it less of a shotgun spam tool. Hell if anything they should probably increase it a bit more, while making Blink stronger in terms of it's movement (cast time/distance travelled) and likewise for Blink Strike, I still don't get why they nerfed the range on it (or throwing knife precison dmg wtf... can't have any skillshots in this game nope gotta be as casual-friendly as possible) As for Arcbolts, yeah a damage buff would be nice and I swear it doesn't seem to work properly anymore with Lucky Raspberry. Back in year 1 I could hit 8+ targets on a single grenade with that body equipped but now it doesn't seem to do anything at all, most of the time I still only hit 3 enemies, maybe 4 if I'm lucky...

Bump.

I agree on everything. They all need buffs. Of course not to the point that it's game breaking, but enough so it's worth using. Thorn definitely needs a buff to range a little and the DOT should probably do 4 ticks instead of 2.
-
2 RepliesAgreed with everything except Blink. Offers you the ability to become incredibly evasive, and the shotgun/blink combo is aids of the highest order. Sunsinger, is sorely lacking imo. I don't understand why the Firebolt nerf if Bungie was planning on releasing and artifact to counter DoT.
-
If you buff thorns range people will complain. If you increase its damage people will complain. Just rework that stupid artifact's perk. Firebolts are in dire need of a buff (only to the base grenade) and arcbolts should do 101 damage instead of 91. blink just needs to have faster equip speeds on all weapons except for shotguns imo. The reason they cant buff thorn is that its ttk is already the fastest in the game for head shot body shot body shot hand cannons. The only thing they should change is the stupid amount of rng bullets it has by removing bloom and the accuracy debuff as a whole for hand cannons.

I would honestly be happy with a decent stability boost for thorn, and maybe a 3-4 damage tick instead of 2 on the dot. Firebolt probably needs a radius increase, but not a damage increase as to avoid a disaster like last year. As for arc bolt, I believe the problem is that people get hit with the initial bang and are able to escape the rest of the grenade. So my fix would be a more damaging INITIAL burst, then weaker after bursts as the grenade continues. After all, if a Titan lightning grenade can two shot people, arcbolt grenades should at the very least be able to 3 shot if enemies are dumb enough to sit in it. But I think they shouldn't break the arcbolt because it's at a decent blast radius right now. It should stay unique in that it has a huge blast radius, but doesn't kill people in one hit. That sticks with the warlock theme of doing primarily aoe ability attacks. But I am definitely with you on the fact that these things were nerfed a little much.

Maybe not so much for pvp but they could use some readjustments in pve for sure.
-
1 ReplyA year ago you would have been burned at a stake. I'd rather have them be shit than how they used to be.
-
2 RepliesLOL, no they were nerfed because they were op.
-
There will just be more nerfs - and they'll all hit pve hardest.
-
1 ReplyNope, totally disagree. All of these things were a complete nightmare in pvp. None of which should be anywhere near what they were. The only thing that should change is the recovery on blink.
