A list of things our ghosts should be allowed to do
1. Play music.
It doesn't matter if we can only play songs from the in game soundtrack, i want to listen to some dank tunes that I chose whilst I shoot bad guys. Better yet, why not let us import out own music?
2. Generate a map of the planet we are on.
Many of us don't need a map because we have grinded for so long that we know every single nook and cranny of this game. However I remember back when i was new to the game that i needed a map to know where the hell a place was on a certain planet. We could pull out our ghost and have the option for him to display a holographic map of the planet we are on.
3. Let him be free.
Remember at E3 2013 your character could pull out your ghost and let him fly freely. Why can't we do that? At least give us the option. It would feel much more immersive to know my ghost can fly around and follow me rather than just being a glorified home button. He should be able to fly around and if he passes by something of interest (a dead ghost, or a golden chest etc) he could call to you. He could fly around like guilty spark in the halo games, but he will follow you if you go too far away from him.
4. Let him communicate with other ghosts.
This is just a personal wish of mine but it would be cool to see your ghost interact with other ghosts in your fireteam. They could complement or argue with each other whilst you shoot that bad guys.
If you have anything to add go ahead.
At the moment ghosts outside of cutscenes don't feel like a companion, just an item for you to change the colour of.

.Different voice actors. I would personally like a George Takei Ghost

.Let the ghost spawn in ammo synths rather than going to the inventory menu.

Agree with the map part. I know every nook and cranny but, sometimes even I am lost as to what a place is actually called. It was particularly annoying the first time I ran the Taken assassination missions where they would tell you that Such and Such Baroness was located in this place on Venus or Earth or Mars or whatever. Being able to whip out your map and see exactly where you need to go would remove that need to have to memorise the locations. Grimour scanning! I'm all for collecting dead ghosts but, wouldn't it be far more in keeping with the lore and story to have your ghost actually perform the scan of a new area, place or enemy/boss as you encounter it! Otherwise what the heck is he actually doing except waiting for you to drop dead and opening doors that probably have very serviceable handles! Also it's kind of stupid that the dead ghosts, while alive, did perform such a scan! Relevant dialog streams for the missions with interaction from your guardian i.e. a random conversation. Give the ghost more of an active part in things. Even Master Chief actually replied to Cortana once in a while for frak sake!

One addition I've thought about over the past two years: it would be cool to be able to send him ahead a few meters to scout ahead or look around corners. Kinda like a remote camera. It would be awesome to be able to have a female ghost if I wanted to choose one. I do have one additional request. I'd like to be able to throw him like a baseball. Maybe give a small amount of damage. A big amount of damage if my fastball is working and I can get a headshot.

Speaker talking to the traveller before it "died", "Make sure the ghosts youll send out are equipped with output jacks, there was a terrible war hundreds and hundreds of years ago with a communication device our people used that didnt have it. The cryptarch has reviewed old pictures of so called "memes" that was the flame to start the war."

Probably been mentioned but Morgan Freeman Ghost would be awesome. Or Michael Gambon would be great too. Anyone else loved that Gambon was in Elder Scrolls Online? Because I was ecstatic.
