  • All weapons should have an elemental damage specific to itself. Then we could counter meta weapons by adding armor resistance toward elemental damage and bullet type too.

  • Just make a chroma like item that lets us put burns on whatever primary we want and boom, elemental primaries are back and not affecting the variety in the game. Doubt that would be very difficult for Bungie to add

    • I think primary elemental should be a [u]normal[/u] thing in Destiny. Just like elemental secondaries and heavies

    • I think there should be hard mode and heroic mode for the nighfall. So if you don't like being returned to orbit, you put on hard mode, then if you like the challenge, you have heroic mode. Heroic gives you better rewards and loot.

    • I never had 1 elemental primary in year 1 because I didn't have enough friends to do the raids and I didn't really know about LFG. I'm a bit disappointed I missed out.

      • In year 1 if everyone died in a nightfall you got returned to orbit. So if the night had a burn modifier on it you could use the same burn type to give a boost aswell. In year 2 you don't return to orbit if everyone dies in a nightfall. It's checkpointed. I feel that's why they really removed burns from primary as it's not needed. I do agree burns on primarys should return and go back to year 1 nightfall

      • During year 1, I mainly used Voc and PTP. Not because of their element affiliation, but because of the perks that came on them. Full auto scout with little to no recoil, yes please. I now have a DIS - 43 with the same perks and it's the bees knees. Had a Pule rifle with the same perks as the Timepiece, think it was a Herja-D or something, and used it for awhile but now I'm using Nirwen's Mercy/Hawksaw/PDX. The point is, the element was nice, but it wasn't the soul reason as to why folk used the weapons. They came stock with really nice perks, and unique looks.

      • Bungo said they removed the elemental primary weapons for "more variety" or some BS that effect. Now there is only one elemental primary (Zhalo). If that's the acceptable definition of "variety", then I urge the dev/update teams (if they even listen) to re-add element primaries. Either that, or look up the definition of "variety" in a good dictionary.

        • Nope! Leave them out of the game! I HATED how raid weapons were better than every weapon in the game. All guns need to feel the same. None should have an edge over another. I LOVE grinding three hours for an Imago Loop with a Fatebringer roll.

          • I agree, Granted Xur has the Zhallo Supercell today and I'd encourage anyone that doesn't have it yet to grab it we still NEED MORE primaries with elemental Types. Since so many enemies have elemental shields lets hope we get them in Rise of Iron. [spoiler]The video is my weekly Xur vid, thought I might put it here since its important as many Guardians as possible will buy and use the Zhallo and maybe Bungie will see the numbers and make more elemental primaries. Also I'm not making money on the vid and don't monetize my videos so no annoying ads to watch 1st, I do it for the fun and to get better at video editing. But getting the word out is hard so sometimes I link a vid in a topic thats relevant just FYI for those interested. Thanks [/spoiler]

          • Yeah I miss grabbing different guns out of the vault for different content. There's no point in having several kinetic weapons.

              Clearly, there is no reason not to bring them back. Their main argument is that they don't want us to primarily use a specific weapon...I used the[armory]Vision of Confluence[/armory] almost exclusively but not for the Solar element...I used it for the [u]Full Auto[/u] perk. Now I currently use the [armory]Suros DIS-43[/armory] with full auto...isn't it the same thing? With the addition of Match Game modifier...we wouldn't be stuck to one weapon or the other if they did implement elemental primaries. Bungie plz bring them back!

              • I really don't see the point. It helps with shields, I get that. But I have a high impact primary with kinetic for that, and it seems to do the job just fine. If there's an elemental burn, I don't need an elemental primary for that (unless it was small arms as well). I'll just make sure my LMG or sniper is the right flavor, and do even more damage than the primary would have. Special ammo packs are cheap anyways. Being a year 2 player, I never got to use one in their prime. I bet they were nice. That being said, we're doing fine without them, and I don't see a huge benefit to us or the balance team to brining them back. I see a lot more nostalgia behind the idea than actual benefit or function. It's not like it needs to be easier to solo a nightfall.

                    • Simple solutions, at least imho: In no particular order 1) Don't have fixed burns on weapons, make their burn part of the random roll we get. 2) Use a "burn" telemetry system. 10 minute usage time - cooldown can either match usage time or be longer. 3) Sell item modifier from Xur. Add's permanent Burn to a weapon. One time use to fill a node on upgrade table. Give a steep price to avoid mass abuse. 4) If not on legendary, at least on Exotics. Exotic primaries, should have a burn. Hard light should be arc, Juju void etc. But realistically, to avoid certain weapons getting more use, see item #3 on my list. Inb4 "multiple same exotic from Collections", remember I said add a steep price to burn modifier item.

                        • What people don't understand about weapon diversity in Y1 vs Y2 is that the taken affect burns in a profound way. If we bring burn primaries back, the diversity of taken shield elements will make them much less effective than they were before.
