Shotgun failing to shoot
Did anyone notice that sometimes shotguns would fail to shoot for a second after equipping them?
I had ammo. You pull the trigger and nothing would happen.

I've had it happen with my shotgun and even my Hammer of Sol not allowing me to throw hammers.

Theres that and I shoot someone with my shotgun the bullets hit the wall behind them but they take no damage

2 RepliesIt happened to me a ton during IB. Sometimes my RF Party Crasher got perfect long range kills, but too many times it literally did nothing at point blank range. That, or barely taking shields off. Shotguns need to return to their full HoW status in both PvE and PvP.

2 RepliesI've also found that with snipers you can reload cancel for the animation but if you need to actually scope in and shoot something you'll have a 9/10 chance of it not firing because it's still "reloading".

1 ReplyI've noticed as well. It's the most noticeable when you interrupt the reload animation on a sniper, though. Try it. Hit reload, interrupt it when the clip number refills, then immediately scope in and spam the trigger. Note how long it takes to fire again.

Glad it's not just me - lost so many encounters cause my shogun takes hardly any health even though I am within a metre range.

This is been going on for months and it hasn't been addressed. Shotgun has gotten nerfed so far down now you might as well be playing a pump action marshmallow shooter. IF the gun shoots, your dead on shot will most likely not get the kill, maybe I'm just not in range (because obviously standing touching my opponent with the end of the barrel I'm still not within range). Probably a 1/4 of the time the shot with just outright go through the opponent and nothing happens. So to go along with "No More Nerfs" how about we bring the shotgun back to how it was during HoW? The last update during that era when they nerfed Thorn and the hand cannons to oblivion. That was when shotguns were the most balanced, especially after removing Shot Package.

I have had exactly the same problem with fusion rifles.......checked after being killed and yep sure is ammo there just not fired.

Been plaguing both PvE and PvP alike. A very frustrating issue Bungie never brings up. I wonder why??

2 RepliesWhen I shoot my shotgun something the bullets go straight through them and does not do any damage. I end up dying when that happens.

5 RepliesHad more than a few instances in IB this week where I'd turn a corner, catch an enemy off-guard right in my cross hairs for an easy kill, only to have my shotgun not fire. He then quickly turned and shot me dead. I'm sure the sure the other guy was like "Dafuq was that all about?"

1 ReplyThis was in the patch notes in the last shotgun nerf. There's a delay between when swapping into a shotgun and pulling the trigger at the same time. I don't remember how long the delay is, but if you want to know go read up on the patch notes.

My shotgun sometimes, when i got a point blank shot, shoot, the enemy don't take enemy and i die. Ammo wasted and no damage given.

Funny you say that, I had that exact same thing happen to me yesterday!! Not just with shotguns but my Golden Gun too...still had 1 shot left and there was a hella long delay and missed my shot...wtf?? Did they nerf GG ??
