Snipers have ruined this game for me
I just lost four matches in a row and I lost count how many times I've gotten blained in the head.
Before someone tells me stop running into sniper lanes, trust me, I know how to play against snipers. I'm also using a scout rifle with single point sling to make me harder to hit. I also have another scout with high caliber rounds.
If I'm shooting a guy 3 times in the head with my scout rifle, he should not be able to headshot me back so easily. Unfortunately this happens way too often in destiny and it is complete bs. I just lost my last game on the final kill to this scenario.
The only other option is to charge the opponent and battle close quarters. Well guess what. They're using TLW like 90% of the time.
Honestly Bungie. It's been 2 years and this has been a problem for too long. Fix it. It doesn't make sense that the same 5 weapons are being used in all competitive modes, in a game which has hundreds of weapons.
I'm sick of being forced to use the same loadout over and over just to be able to compete. SBMM has made every match I get into super sweaty, so if I use any of the odd guns, I'm putting myself at a huge disadvantage.
I don't mind SBMM. Just fix the game so that all guns can be used. Not just 5.
Add more flinch to snipers.

No matter how much I practice, I suck with a sniper rifle. I have gotten some awesome kills with a sniper, but I can tell how much I suck with one when I go in any 3v3 playlist. I modified my play style and get sniped a lot less than before. Snipers are pretty much always in the same spot (or within a few meters of an area). Knowing this is crucial as it helped to not only stay out of their line of sight, but depending on the map, to jump and look at the far end of the map and see if a sniper is there. There is ! Cool, I have my Hawksaw with Hammer Forged + Rifled Barrel (better range than some SR). Sniper dead. A lot of people also suck with Scout Rifles. If that's your case...... Get yourself the Hung Jury and learn to keep your reticle at head level. That thing is also a sniper destroyer. Lower range than higher impact scouts, but the RoF makes up for it, and just as effective at close range..... Even against TLW.

I honestly can't do this anymore The sliver of life left with shot gun blast Teleporting Ultra sticky sniper reticles, that gauge the #s yet bungie won't address Unfair kills for me and the enemy. Say what you want about my k/d but I don't have the time to relearn the game they keep updating it got nerfed so much, to now shoulder charge is super effective in killing within a super now it's not cool now I can't do this anymore.

4 RepliesSo I just looked up a popular sniper rifle on Destiny Tracker, 1k Yard Stare, and it makes up roughly 10% of all Crucible kills. Considering that this is just one example of a sniper, and how many more weapons and abilities that can be used to get kills in PVP, this number is pretty high.

2 RepliesThis is the biggest problem right now. It was always possible to snipe how we snipe right now, don't get me wrong. But the game has changed to a point where this is the easiest way to get a kill. I'm okay with the aim assist. I'm okay with the scopes. I'm okay with the hit boxes. I'm okay with the one shot capability. But if I'm railing you in the head with a Scout Rifle and you can still land a headshot even 30% of the time, that's not okay with me.

Snipers have ruined this game for everyone that isn't a sniper. In pubs, in trials, even in mayhem. If you can't snipe then basically you should not be playing destiny. -Bungie

The problem is low primary weapon damage at range. Sniping is too easy and risk free when primary weapons have such ridiculous falloff.

The number of twitch players giving them and their favorite weapon free advertisement its monstrous. plus if give experts free lighthouse carries I just stopped for a minute to see if something would happen. because sniper play for all that time, kind of boring. Rumble is much more fast paced and fun

This is definitely a problem especially in trials. Dam streamers and sweatys just sit back and snipe and not even scout rifles work. I hate it when I try to snipe all they would do is peak for a second and hit me when I have been waiting there ready for anything that moves and all they do is poke out for less that a second and get me. Scout rifles are supposed to be helping in such situations to create a better one of you can't snipe them back or don't have the same sniping skills as them.

I actually strongly agree with the point here, and I can only pray the right people give it some consideration. I am tired of landing one, two, even three head shots with a mid to long range scout or pulse rifle before being headshot by a sniper rifle. A lot of people who share this sentiment are often considered whiners by biased snipers. I don't think any of the weapon stats should be nerfed. But to think about aiming a SNIPER RIFLE, holding your breath and casually landing a headshot while bullets are BOUNCING AROUND YOUR SKULL... cmon now. It just makes crucible a little more awkward. There should definitely be significant flinching when being shot, let alone being shot in the head (you know, where your brain is). "Wow those are some really nice guns you got. You must have worked hard to get those. But you see I bought this gun called the 1000 yard stare from the vendor, so..."

Sniping is too easy. It's so annoying getting killed by hardscopers strafing around a corner and instantly headshotting you before you even know they're there. It happens to me often and i'm not even in a sniper lane, nor am I trying to challenge them.

The issue here is that everywhere in n destiny is a sniper lane now.
