So I would first like to point out that I originally wrote this solution elsewhere in a different post and decided, "damn, that's a good solution." It fixes all of the issues that people have with shoulder charge while still keeping it good imo. Now, if you have read this far, congratulations! You didn't just read the title and assume what I was going to say. If you have any actual criticism, post the word "onion" at the end of your post so I know who actually read the post before talking shit. Give me your complete and honest thoughts.
My solution is this. The one hit melee idea stays, alright. Hunters are the only ones that can go invisible and warlocks are the only ones that can do something that I can't quite remember at the moment. Titans being able to 1 hit kill melee doesn't bother me at all. The turn radius for titans while shoulder charge is active needs to be increased slightly because after all, it is a shoulder charge, you should be more focusing on speed rather than turning. The magnet that happens to come with shoulder charge needs to be toned down a little bit. I know people who run titans who have said that they shouldn't have gotten that kill, but the magnetization pulled shoulder charge towards them.
Now it's the part no one is going to like, the ability to do it infinitely. I understand that it helps you get from place to place faster. I think it should be similar to the force barrier melee. You keep your charge for your melee until you kill an enemy with shoulder charge, or you just punch someone which would normally take away your charge. This solution allows for titans to still get from place to place faster, but it still fixes the infinite one hit kill melee. After all, hunters have a cooldown for going invisible and using shadestep and warlocks have a cooldown for the sniper melee that is thunder strike. Finally, this solution will make the exotic titan helmet, an insurmountable skullfort, a viable option in crucible because I'm pretty sure that helmet gives you 2 melee charges. BAM! I just solved the problem with shoulder charge! It's time to do a little dance! Mmh, mmh, yeah! I CAN DO ANYTHING!
*edit*
I just realized, if the turn radius was increased, it would provide a use to the Mk. 44 standasides.

1 ReplyLet's just buff shotguns... :P
onion
The idea is decent, it could help. I've taken on soooo many shoulder charging shotgunners this Trials, I don't understand how instakills off one button press can be enjoyable. I have fought multiple teams with two Striker shot gunners...obviously there's a problem.
-
2 RepliesThe solution are fusion rifles Think, no one hardly runs them yet theyre a gun built on anticipating movement and killing instantly in a burst after so. Basically watch a titan run at you and charge/shoot. 9/10 times he'll run right into it.
-
Essentially you are providing a solution for at problem that does not exist. While the creativity is much appreciated, there is no issue that needs solving.
-
9 RepliesThere is nothing wrong with shoulder charge!!!!! Leave it alone Go play another game all you spastics

Plan C - Shoulder Charge Counter Measure, Engaged!

1 ReplyLeafe shoulder charge how it is you onion
-
1 Reply"Nerf this, now nerf that. Well, as long as you're tweaking the sandbox, could you nerf these things as well, Bungie?" The nerf brigade is relentless.
-
3 RepliesNot reading. Don't care. Leave everything as is. If you don't like the game, play a new one

They have alot to work on... No matter what class and subclass you pick it shouldnt matter everything should be conpletely equal... This would equal more people using different or "fav" weapons and classes rather then "im this class with these weapons because i know there unstoppable and everyone else does the same" so annoying its like why do we have so.many different options for guns and classes if its narrowed down to such little that will dominate (mainly pvp)
-
1 ReplyOnion but shoulder charge already had a cooldown the same as shade step and blink(2 uses then a longer cooldown unless you land a kill). But since the latest "Nerf", which BTW made all those abilities better, it's one use then a 3 second cooldown. So all in all any and I mean any type of tweak to shoulder charge has to happen to shadestep, blink, twilight garrison, and any other ability/gear that corresponds with shoulder charge.

3 RepliesI'm a hunter and I say leave Shoulder Charge alone.
-
2 Replies...neat solution I guess...idk I never really had an issue with strikers and their shoulder charge, despite seeing a lot more of em lately
prolly cause im most likely dead before they can shove me 50+ feet into a wall...hahah..... = =;;
But what I wanna know is why every time they do a damn update another class gets the nit pick and nerf treatment? Is it the titan's turn again? Shit, imma go hide back under my rock... Also ever had a pickled onion?

Shoulder charge is not now and has never been a problem. Play smart and you can generally avoid it. If not, you got outplayed. Congratulate your opponent, accept the bagging as deserved and move on. And because you asked for it...'onion'

1 ReplyThis the first good compromise
tomato
-
10 RepliesYou only need solutions for problems...and shoulder charge isn't the problem, people begging bungie to nerf everything into the ground is the problem.
-
2 RepliesI gotta agree with the fact that sometimes the tracking on shoulder charge is a little too good so that part doesn't bother me all that much. My biggest thing is that I'm not sure the beefing the charge is really that big of a deal, because there's already a phantom restriction that you have to sprint for two seconds and before that if your sprint is broken then there's a cool down. Though I do think getting a kill is more than enough of a reason to break momentum and need a second to get back up to sprinting. On an unrelated note, onions make me cry man.

2 RepliesOr just quit push nerfing shit like noobs and boost other things so people feel just as powerful in all classes... they destroyed radiance with ignorance like this...
-
2 RepliesHow come shoulder charge nerf posts were not a thing before the last update? Not like its changed much at all since destiny's launch. Know why? Because there isn't anything wrong with it! Its all about high risk, high reward. Look at pie in the corner of your screen. Its called a radar. It has the ability to tell you when enemies are coming towards you. Magical right?! Use it to plan accordingly. This isn't directed towards op specifically, just those who scream for a nerf when this ability doesn't need one. Sorry you got kneed in the face! Look at you radar next time. Just respawn, know that it is most like likely your fault you were killed in that fashion, and keep playing!
-
The solution is to stop talking about it. Sorry, but I don't believe it needs any adjustment.
-
Keep it the same is the only good solution.
-
1 ReplyShoulder charge does have a cooldown. It's not long enough. That's the issue. Onions are terrible, and you should be ashamed that you like it.
-
3 RepliesOr. Or. You could leave a balanced class alone and stop bitching.
-
1 ReplyOr you could quit being a little bitch

5 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 6/26/2016 1:16:17 AMIf you let a Titan sprint directly into your face at any point - full melee charge or not, you deserve to die. No arguing, no objections, no way around it. There are radars, shotguns, and the ability to communicate to your team when an enemy Titan is recklessly running around the map and letting his guard down. There are more than enough factors to help prepare against charging Titans. Shoulder Charge is FINE. Nerfs are not the answer.
-
Just let them keep shoulder charging, there is statistics out there and it's only a matter of time till its nerfed. Statistics don't lie. My solution
