So far I've only played Halo CE and Halo Reach. CE is garbage and Reach is decent, but it still doesn't live up to the pedestal that Halo has been put on. It was good, but not great. I'd give it a solid 7/10. So, what is the best Halo campaign exactly? I've heard it's either 2 or 3 and I can't seem to find Halo 2 on the 360 on disc. Couldn't even find it on the Xbox store either and I don't want to play Halo 3 without playing Halo 2 so....which one is the best?

5 RepliesHalo 2 is only on Xbox so you'd have to find an Xbox version somewhere then play it on your 360. I like Halo 2 the most, best one to just sit and playthroughs imo.

1 ReplyIf you think CE is garbage, you should probably go back to licking that window.

I loved halo reachs campaign for two reasons. 1. First halo game I ever played. 2. It had an awesome story of the UNSC actually losing. Plus my Spartan looked like some sort of retro master chief.

9 RepliesCE was just you jumping around a bunch of locations shooting ayy lmaos

3 RepliesBy campaign are you referring to story, level design, enemy design, or all three?

1 ReplyWhy can't we just have the Chief stay onboard the Forward Unto Dawn?

1 ReplyEdited by Neilius Maximus: 3/9/2016 5:12:30 AMYeah playing a 15 year old game 15 years too late will make it seem kind of shitty. That's like trying to review the first doom, it's garbage, but for its time it was monumental. Are you even playing the multiplayer to these games? That's why Halo is so big. Not playing multiplayer would be just like not playing single player on the last of us. Anyways, 2 and 3 were amazing. Halo 2 anniversary was exceptional and I'm pretty sure it's only available through the master chief collection, so I guess you won't be able to play it. Just keep in mind while playing these old games that they were from a different time and we're revolutionary when first released. Halo 2 had the most competitive multiplayer on consoles, maybe even still to this day. Plus we all know you're a little biased anyway. Don't forget about multiplayer. Another example of not playing multiplayer and reviewing it would be just playing through the campaigns on call of duty. Just try Halo 2 and 3. Edit: I'm almost certain you can play the original Halo 2 from xbox on the 360.

2 RepliesEdited by Masontheslayer95: 3/9/2016 5:34:39 AMHalo 5's story is garbage and a huge letdown. EVERYONE agrees on that. I can't believe 343 was stupid enough to hire Brian Reed YEARS after the community vehemently attacked him.

CE or ODST

Edited by Kankunation: 3/9/2016 5:37:57 AMCE is still hard to beat. Easily the most memorable campaign Reach had a great campaign design, but the story was sub-par. Still has some of my favorite levels (long night of solace and new alexandria). Halo 5 had amazing level design, just not enough of it. Best cinematics though (unless you count halo 2 anniversary, which tops all others) Halo 3 campaign was pretty fun, probably the most well rounded of the bunch. Didn't really accel at anything (though the last level is pretty memorable). Halo 2.... Had its moments. The split story was pretty great, level design was hit and miss. Cliffhanger ending was bad. Halo 4 was easily the most forgettable. So Damn short, uninteresting level design Aside from maybe 1 mission, left just as many questions as answers, etc.

2 and 4 had arguably the best campaigns. 3's campaign was full of plot holes (most were).

2 because Reach had a lot of loose ends and ODST was a teeny bit too short.
