Edit: A few people have actually been having a discussion. I appreciate that. The rest of you are just pathetic scrubs who can't live without their crutch and can't string together anything resembling a good reason why year one guns shouldn't be separated somehow in the crucible playlists.
Edit 2: A lot of people are wrongly assuming that I think Thorn should go away because I'm getting killed by it. That's not true. Of course I die to it sometimes, but that's true of all guns. I don't care about getting killed. I care that Thorn is an almost infinite source of burn which completely changes the flavor of the match for everybody. No weapon, especially a primary, should have that big an impact on the game's landscape. Thorn isn't as good as MIDA or Last Word, but you'll notice I don't care about those guns. That's because those guns are just (very good) guns. They can't completely zone players out of a section of the map with endless DoT without cooldown. Thorn just changes the game so heavy-handedly that it reduces the quality of the overall PvP experience. Of course Thorn can be countered. Killing Thorn users is usually pretty easy, but you still get zoned by a single shot from a bad player, and now you're removed from the fight for a stupid amount of time because somebody bodyshot you once with a hand canon. That's just stupid.
Edit 3: Very few people seem to read. Yes, Thorn is easy to beat. No, I don't want it nerfed. Yes, I think it's fine that people use Thorn. Hell, I use Thorn every once in a while. My issue is that the gun is poorly designed, and that it's secondary uses (meaning the things the gun does outside of active engagements) force entire matches into specific limited subsets of strategies and tactics. That creates a limited PvP experience whenever the gun is present. No gun with DoT should be part of the game's PvP, especially because the DoT is virtually infinite and, therefore, can zone players at will without reprieve. Starting now, I will ignore anyone whose post demonstrates that they haven't read this.

2 RepliesThey will try to kill you, kill them back. Thorn is one of the few true exotics in the game. Most other exotic perks are just a grouping of legendary ones. Yes thorn is an intimidating weapon, but that fear factor to it is part of what makes it exotic. Same with TLW. Both are very powerful at set ranges, and will naturally cause players to avoid those ranges unless they have something better for that ranges. Every class also has at least one dot grenade so burn shouldnt be that big of an issue. If you get to cover anytime you get hit first then yes thorn will cause you issues. If you're dealing damage faster then they are then you should press the attack. If you are missing then reset. Same for any primary. With that type of weapon you should never attempt to run and gun rush it. A cover to cover rush can work, but thorn is very good at counter rush, and suppression. There are plenty of counter playstyle weapons out there thorn is just the most exotic of those.

Wow......just wow! The crying never ends. You guys truly never disappoint me. I play destiny day and night and never have problems with anything in this, mind the exploits/glitches. Just because you suck doesn't mean you should bring everyone else down. I'm tired of all these nerf crying post. Just got git gud or realize that your skill isn't as good and make peace with yourself. Geezuz, I'll stop playing soon if more posts from random garbage like you still stay.

I don't think it should be removed, and I feel it deserves the power it has because of how hard it was to get when it was a bounty. I recognize it was easy for some but for me it was a bitch to get because I sucked at pvp.

It was my first exotic and I like its design, it's sound and those bullets though!? Remove dot apply taking of enemy on precision kills a nd a new paint job to fit a taken king!

Last Word shoots fast so remove it from the game. Suros had perfect stability, remove it from the game. MIDA is too balanced, remove it from the game. So much for guns having exotic perks right? They should all be removed and everyone should just run around with the Khvostov.

I say keep it, but leave it as year 1. Its too unique and polarizing to not have in the game. Yes it changes the game, it should. That doesnt mean the user is unstoppable. On top of that, all the other handcannons are ass right now.

Honestly it's not Thorn and Firebolts themselves. Bungie didn't realize the DoT in a Low-Health Pool game in a PvP enviorment won't ever be balanced. Especially if it kills you.
