Not Bungie, not Activision, not Deej or Cozmo, nope. I'm talking to you Destiny community, your vile toxicity is ruining this game.
This game had a real chance at being something spectacular yet these forums are dragging it down massively.
Get a grip, is rift really that bad? No it isn't, I've been playing solo and have been kicking ass on my warlock and I'm pretty awful at PvP so if I can do it, you can.
If you don't like the game stop playing it, don't try and ruin everyone else's experience as well.

2 RepliesFag. Community doesn't drag it down. It's the people that make the game. I don't have access to their coding and programming. I can't patch things. I don't create micro transactions. They do.

If an outside source from the game is ruining your experience, you shouldn't go on these forums. People think Bungie is listening to their fans about balancing. They're not. If anything, from what Bungie has changed in the past, there's a single thing that everything that has been nerfed have in common. Popularity. If a gun is popular, it'll get nerfed. Did anyone ask for an icebreaker nerf? No. Did anyone ask for a black hammer nerf? No. Guaranteed, if hardly anyone used these weapons, they wouldn't have gotten nerfed. Just because felwinters, vex, suros regime, thorn, tlw, pilgrim, etc were requested to nerf by the community, that doesn't mean they were solely responsible for said nerfs. They were all popularized weapons that a huge chunk of the community used. It's basically a fact that Bungie's perfect game world is a game where are weapons are used evenly. (The reason why we don't even have elemental primaries anymore even though nobody cried nerf for them either) And that can't happen with Fatebringer/BH/Gjally, Thorn/Felwinter, or even MIDA/1KYS... so WHEN(not if) the popularized scout rifle and sniper combo gets nerfed, be realistic and realize the community didn't get it nerfed by complaining about it. They got it nerfed by USING it too much. But Bungie isn't going to outright say, it's not the community that nerfed these weapons, it was us. Why would they go and bring more heat onto themselves(God knows there's enough of it already) when they can let the community fight among themselves? And just so you know, you're fighting this community out of pure spite against it. The people passionate enough to say "Enough is enough, give us something meaningful". That's sad. You're part of the problem, not the solution. Being content with mediocrity in this game will NOT make it better. Just saying.

To be 1000. Rift ain't that bad. It's jus not for iron banner. When I think of iron banner I think of kills controlling zones. Wrecking havoc on the intruders. The name speaks for itself. Now I think rift is more of a fun with the clan or jus jerkin off time. Lord iron banner dude didn't intend or foresee us running around sparking like a damn fool. So on that note I'm off to play my division beta. Have with rift fag bags

5 RepliesRift is fine, playing solo is fine. Its when I shoot you in the back while your running away, 21 times (full mida clip), only to have you turn around and one shot me with a shotgun, that makes me and everyone else mad. I message the guy, he's in Venezuela, I'm in Michigan. This is bound to happen at some point, with skill based match making. This is today, after 10am Pacific when they supposedly implemented a matchmaking process that focused more on connection based criteria. So I play a bunch of matches, message random lagging players (6 or more per match were redbarring on average, I messaged players on both teams) from each match about their locations. Do you know what I find out? I bet you can guess. That's right!! Every single person I sent a message to that was kind enough to respond, was outside the North American continent, which I currently reside on. Is this the optimal result of Bungies' matchmaking? One would think not. Yet they (Bungie) literally treat things like everything is gliding along as it should be. This is an example of why people bitch. Everyone hits a boiling point, some come here and complain, some people quit playing this game and a lot of the time it feels like Bungie just plain doesn't give a shit how many people they lose. I have watched my friends list nearly dry up and a lot of them have told me they've left, not because of lack of content currently but because they just don't feel Bungie knows how to fix their game. You can only bang your head off the wall so many times before you wise up and finally realize this game isn't worth stressing over. Its just so much easier to walk away and find something else that doesn't piss you off. I don't know why it seems that Bungie worries so little about this exodus of players, considering us players are the only way they get paid in the end. This is the norm right now, its all over the place, this forum is an outlet for us to let Bungie know we're not happy, hence the bitching, people who are unhappy, bitch, they don't complain in a civilized manner. Good posts about good things get drowned out because negative posts are polarizing and draw attention, which is why you notice them so much. Its human nature, which is another reason why its so frustrating when Bungie just ignores our issues that are causing negative repercussions for us. Its like they're purposely ignoring the negative, to everyone's detriment. Bottom line, a vast, vast amount of threads on this forum are negative and complaint oriented. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Edited by shadowkinz: 1/28/2016 4:18:17 PMThe destiny community isn't that toxic, we just whine a lot. Every game forum is full if whining tho lol. You want toxic, play cs, LoL, WoW, apb, cod. Apb is so toxic, there's something about that game.. league is pretty toxic too, hsd a gamr intentionally feed the other team 15 kills after we were stomping them badly bc I asked him something genuinely and he thought it was criticizing him. In those games if you don't call someone a racial or homophobic slur, you're practically in the minority. It's fking sickening..

1 ReplyReally? If the game lived up to the hype, if we weren't blatantly lied to repeatedly, if the broken/lack of content was there every few months like the original plan stated, and ALL activities were updated to be relevant in year 2 (hmmmm.... VoG, CE, PoE, y1 weapons & armor, etc etc), then a lot less ppl would complain. It's literally bungies fault that they kept changing their minds, game plan and business plan. There's always complainers out there, but it grew every nerf of something that didn't need it, a buff of things we asked to be left alone, finding out we were sold 2 DLCs that were actual cut content/retooled content from the original story line, hidden behind the scenes things being altered regardless of everyone being assured it wasn't (multiplayer skill system), weekly updates that were blatant lies.... I literally could go on for a bit, but what's the point? You think I attack bungie while you blindly defend them even though they're clearly in the wrong. Yes it's out of hand with a lot of young kids feeling entitled and complaining, but a lot of it is actually justified now. You need to open your eyes.... All the numerous signs since 2013 should've shown you this is clearly a sinking ship of a game... lead writers left for MS and bethesda respectively, lead composer was fired, other top people on the Dev team left for other companies, the ceo was just booted, not to mention all the other stuff we don't know about. Again, I could continue, but either you'll ignore the warning signs and continue your blind defense, or you'll open ur eyes to it all and see it for what it really is.

Edit: Bungie CEO stepping down is proof positive they were heading in the wrong direction. So OP, before you spew off about a game you're new to, know the facts

4 RepliesAll of this "toxicity"goes away as soon as you stop paying attention to it. Imagine a world where you didn't know the forums existed.

You talk about destiny community bringing it down by having a rant just like the rest of them, good going bud

2 RepliesDon't let the forum get you down, bro. All forums are general negative. This could be a cupcake baking forum and it would still be laced with salt. It's basically because people who are loving (said hobby) are busy doing that hobby and aren't wasn't their time posting their thoughts. Meanwhile the haters, don't want to get back to their hobby and just want to take a big shit on it.

The forums do not represent the totality of Destiny players, thank deus. It is a small, but extraordinarily vocal minority. Think of it like a fandom: lots of fans, but only a small percentage who get into fist fights over upskirts.
-
Yep agreed, I'm loving rift but prob gonna be control all the time now... Thanks community!

1 ReplyHave you tried eating nachos? They always put me in a better mood... If that doesn't help then definatly wash the sand out of your vagina! Rinse an repeat! Js....

I thought rift will be terrible but I've been having fun. Sometimes alone sometimes w/ 2 other friends.
-
Bungie forums have always been volatile... does anyone remember Halo3 or Reach forums?? Wow
-
What changes the game, BUNGIE. Why because of said forum. Ok, now just because people voice their opinion doesn't mean they have to change it. If Bungie stuck to their guns and kept developing it like they intended maybe complaints would not be so massive. There the programmers and developers not us. I understand your point, its valid but I think and going by what ive seen in other games Bungie should've never made this game a combined PVP and PVE game. Its a monster!
-
rift is the worst, it killed my dead dog again and asked for money
-
Rift wouldn't be so bad if Bungie had balanced maps with balanced spawns. It will be bad until they fix those two things.
-
Rift isn't bad at all. It's a chance, which is what this community claims they want
-
8 RepliesI miss playing destiny. .. Was addicted. . Sold my Xbox to save my family. Need another Xbox! !! 1

yea, actually rift is pretty bad. Its just a bad game type in general, not just because its iron banner, but that certainly amplifies the problem. Matches are one sided, the game type promotes camping, and is generally just an absolute niche game type.

Edited by Thane: 1/28/2016 1:47:29 PMThe disconnection from reality is real .....Destiny has a chance at what ?? .... I hope they take your advice though, but if everyone "bitching" about the current state of the game stopped playing suddenly, it will be a real desert. Then you can come bitch to us even more about your ruined experiences and how you cant find matches ..... The real question is, wtf is a positive little monkey still doing in this "toxic community" ??

It's okay, I'll be your Pope titan. I offer my blessings to keep you from getting religious out there, on the battlefield.

1 ReplyHow to do well in rift: Step 1. Capture the spark Step 2. Run the spark Step 3. Don't let them run the spark Step 4. Git gud
