Why do so many people lie about being from the beginning?
Edit: Just to clarify, I am asking why do people obviously lie about being a day 1 player when it really doesn't matter. No one really cares about when you got the game
I always hear so many people talking about how
"I've played since beta/alpha"
Or
"I've had the game since week 1"
Cause seriously, only about 10% of destiny players are from day 1 and only 20% of them, at most, are still playing now
Edit: I just searched this up. Out of the 30 million people who bought destiny only 5 million bought it in the first MONTH, not day (16.6%) if you remove the people who bought it later in the month I bet it would equal about 10% of all players
I am going to be the first to say that I have NOT played since beta and I am in fact an Xmas Noob (Y1)
If you're a true day 1 player then put on your founders emblem/sign of the elders or your frontier ghost shell then I'll believe you

Every time a poll comes up it seems everyone is beta and everyone has a 2 plus kd and everyone ran sword or relic and everyone had a vex or suros when they were op. Everyone is full of shit.

I think that being Day 1 and sharing your knowledge of the game to the new players is a good thing. Many veterans have left and getting the new players up to speed as soon as possible makes the game better for the veteran players because we have more people to game with. Listen when a veteran speaks chances are you might learn something.

I returned 3 weeks (I think) before the Taken King during House of Wolves. Characters don't have much time because of course I wasn't all the time since life situations are important. Upgraded to PS4 on TTK release
