So ever since the sunbreaker nerf/buff, 99% titans use strikers like in Year One.
What happened?
Did they destroyed the subclass THAT bad?
or was it most people used iy because it was easy, and a bit broken to use?
You tell me.
Inb4 salt
I think it's a little bit of everything. Personally I used it because t was something new to play around with but I didn't like it that much. Switched back to striker before they even announced the nerf. I love that subclass.
-
Didn't use it before nerf but have been now. Its really good. Yesterday got 5 kills in like 6 seconds. Normally get 3-4 but got lucky yesterday
-
3 RepliesI still normally get 4 kills a super with Sunbreaker. Subclass is just fine.
-
Because hammers don't even properly hit people anymore. I've seen countless vids and even had it occur myself where you can hit a guy directly in the face with a hammer and they walk it off. Most of the time the hammer just explodes before it reaches its intended target.
-
1 ReplyDo you even Engresh?
-
Depends on what map I still use all three subclasses
-
1 Replynobody complains about everybody using stormcaller and hardly anybody in 6v6 using sunsinger/voidwalker
-
Because Sunbreakers have a mediocre neutral game, while Strikers have Lightning Grenades and Shoulder Charge.
-
1 ReplySunbreaker was just a worse striker for the most part between supers. Garrison also works wayy better with striker.
-
'Cause the people that used them are bums that can only do well with a subclass that has an obvious advantage over everything else.
-
4 RepliesBecause of the buff strikers got, coupled with the exotic helmet that gives strikers 2 free perks (have it on my titan but can't remember what it's called)
-
Probably because Bungie nerfed the blast damage, but the Grenades and horseshoes type effect that the hammers have explode too early, and most of the damage from the explosion doesn't hit the target. I've gotten plenty of Hammer hits where I know for a damn fact it should've killed someone just to have em walk away with a full health bar. I've also been on the receiving end where I've seen hammers explode before they are even near me and they barely take off my shield. Been seeing a lot more Hammer guys using the charge attack now. It's funny as hell bashing stormcallers and Bladedancers with that. :)
-
Yep it sucks
-
2 RepliesIt's actually because most of the time hammers don't actually kill people. I gave it a go today because I don't really like striker and it really blows mind how Bungie were able to overlook it.
-
I still use sunbreaker to great success when I'm on my Titan. I don't see what the fuss is about.
-
3 RepliesI hit a hunter using gg with four hammers he turned and blew my brains out and ran off.
-
Shoulder charge and lightning grenades > Sunbreaker
-
I love the way you do that right therr....
-
5 RepliesFor the same reason everyone and their grandma is using last word/1k-stare/multi-tool at the moment; and the same reason they will switch to whatever else is the new killer the second another weapon re-balance makes those weapons not the top-easy-peasy killers.
-
I still love sunbreaker. Simmering flames and that one perk almost triples super melee and grenade recharge and melee kills recharge your super instantly. You can backpedal from a group of pursuing thrall and get a charged melee kill on each one. As long as you keep killing the melee streak keeps going.
-
2 RepliesI didn't play sunbreaker when it was released cause it was op. Now I use it and find it pretty fun. Most people don't like they changes cause they aren't gods anymore
-
Cause now sunbreakers get rekt Its stupid
-
4 RepliesStriker used to reign as King long before Sunbreaker was released. Its the only super that has an instant activation and pretty much guarantees a kill at close range.

6 RepliesEdited by Eyaslunatic: 1/1/2016 6:35:48 PMWARNING: This wall of text is worth the read! I main Sunbreaker still. Hammers just don't cut it anymore, especially on bigger maps. So I explored the other perks: I use the super as a shoulder charging maniac terror demon of terror (twice the terror!). And I have to say, it's extremely effective. Like, imagine a Bladedancer-Striker-Gunslinger hybrid. Also, I run full discipline and intellect, along with the Simmering Flames perk (when super is full, grenades and melee recharge twice as fast when Supercharged.) This means I get a grenade every 12.5 seconds. Lots of crispy guardians. Plus I use Armamentarium. "That's a nifty setup, but what should be done to the hammers?" There is definitely a problem with premature detonation. Or maybe it's just that they have a range falloff? Anyways, that needs to stop. A Warlock floofed about, and I naturally launched my hammer at their face. Direct hit. Something like 40 damage. Okay, I'll throw another: 30 damage. Third time's a charm right? 10. TEN points of damage taken. Now mind that they were still in the air the entire time. Eventually I got rekt by the guy's teammates in my stupor. I don't know if this is "working as intended," but regardless it's irritating. What do you think? I mean, if I aimed well enough to get a hit in the air (I wasn't even using the tracking hammer perk) like that, surely it should 1-hitKO?

Don't play crucible often, tried sunbreaker last IB cause I heard about it and wanted to try...was fun but strong like most have said, but have always run striker in crucible so went back. Besides I have raid chest that gives extra armor for arc subclass, then got yr2 Armamentarium and wanted them 2x lightening grenades.
besides I like slamming control pts, heavy spawn, and bladedancers/sunsingers for the team
1 ReplyNot true. I see them all the time. I am still running sunbreaker.
