It was good. However, it could have been great...if JJ A. had come up with an original script.

12 Replies....you are an idiot that doesn't understand the power of convergent plot points before a massive storm.
If you weren't a total idiot, you likely would have noted that Ren has quite a few light side attributes and his rage seems to only be present when he uses his saber. It's very clear he, the son of war heros and nephew of the "new hope" can't help but feel that he should have some claim to grandfather's mantle. That's a pretty deep familial link and far stronger dark side tie than "THE SAND PPL KILLED MY MOM AND NOW IM MAD-NOOOOOOOOO" It is very clear that this movie called out to the features of the old trilogy, in order to not just channel a long missed nostalgia, but to relatable-y set up a very different story arch that features an entirely different flavor of evil, that will attempt to diminish what is left of a good that has been mostly forgotten. The movie is actually nothing like those of the past? Why? Because the force is again forgotten to the public, CORESCANT's ENTIRE SYSTEM WAS NUKED DUMBASS. If you only focused on the convergent points of this narrative and didn't see any of the majorly intense points of contention "awakened" within the Star Wars universe, you're either not a very big Star Wars fan, or your an idiot. But I always like to go with the why not both, line of thinking.
Nah, it's awesome.

The prequels were better.

4 RepliesWas it as good as the original? No. Was it great? Yes. Sounds like you preferred the prequels tbh...

I'm moving this to the offtopic forum. The destiny forums are for general discussion about the game.

It was a build up film. Return of the Jedi left it wherever it wanted to go. This is where it's begins again. There was a lot of stuff that was setup for next time. So many avenues it's crazy

Terrible

2 RepliesThe Revenant is stupid good.

I disagree. I enjoyed that they followed the formula of A New hope.

My favorite one so far, could not find anything I didn't like

Yeah they remade episode 4 for anyone that's wondering. No originality whatsoever.

they have now replaced deathstar with death planet
Edited by Hawkeyer: 12/23/2015 4:26:12 PMOP has kitty litter breath. THERE!! Thats also an opinion.
-
Personally thought it was great but they stuck wayyyy to close to the plot of Star Wars 4, it was practically identical, seems like they were too afraid to take any risks and actually change it.

OP has a good fishing pole

Blasphemy!

That was the point....a soft reboot (after the debacle that was Episodes I-III) while introducing a whole new generation while keeping ties to the previous generation. Was it formulaic, yes, but absolutely necessary IMO. There were so many new things to add to the franchise that it needed some familiarity to connect it to the original 3. However, the similarities were far outweighed by the new characters and factions. There's so many ways they can go with the story arc now with episode 8 is going to be really fun to see what direction they go.
