Well there are contradicting theories that have evidence that support them ie. The big bang theory which is supported by cosmic background microwave radiation. As I mentioned, this theory contradicts the whole "god made the universe in 7 days" or whatever it was. Secondly the theory of evolution contradicts creationism but there is sizeable evidence in favour of evolution such as fossils over time.

Just because something was suddenly made by an intelligent entity, doesn't mean it won't change over time. Imagine a self-modifying AI. Though designed to act one way, it would modify itself to be better over time. As for the cosmic radiation, there's literally no way to disprove that it wasn't created by a deity. One side demands proof, the other demands faith. One will never be able to stamp out the other school of thought simply because they can't beat the other's logic.

Fair enough, but if god created the world in his perfect image why would they change because then surely they'd not be perfect.

Perfection changes over time. Think of humanity's idea of the perfect body. Once upon a time, in medieval time periods, fat women were more attractive, as it showed they had more food and wealth.
