Do Strikers and Defenders still exist in the Crucible?
To be honest, since TTK I haven't seen many Strikers or Defenders in the Crucible. None during this Iron Banner.
Has anyone seen any on their's or the enemy side?
Do you still main those Subclasses?
This isn't about the strength of the Sunbreaker class but is that the only logical choice to use in PVP much how, forgive me for comparing it, Thorn and Last Word where what most used because that got results.
So is there still viability with those?

They're a legendary Pokemon, very hard to find. Harder to catch. Good hunting

Saw some defenders and a friend is still playing his striker with great success. Except for that it's sunbreakers all over the place.

Defenders are kings in certain game modes. I run sunbreaker in clash because I mean you need kills to win got to go on offense. Objective game modes I use defender. The bubble is just to good, but shotgun nerf is going to really hurt defender Titans.

They do ... I ran into one the other week he did thus Bob up n down like teabagging but at a distance n I knew it was one v one Blade dancer V Striker ... He won every time ... I was so bloody entertained it was worth it.

Sure. I was killed this morning by a fist of panic and some dude on our team put his bubble over our heavy. Pretty sure those are the only two I've seen though.

The defender is so underrated. You become a monster tank. It's not too hard to dodge other supers like golden gun or nova bomb as long as you watch your radar and keep your whits about you. You can literally lock down an entire section of a map and even bait other supers and make them waste theirs. A defender in that fast recharge game type was getting on my nerves by bubbling the very middle with a shotgun...

Yes they do. I got hit by the fist of panic twice before getting hit by a hammer then golden gun. It was a nice 4 death streak.

8 RepliesI would love to use a defender to assist the team, but why would I. The damn shield can be taken down by all the other supers (except the Bladedancer: who can just waltz right in and destroy the titan w/ armor of light or not). Blessing of light? Sucks! Again, it's worthless. What good is Blessing when a sniper can one shot ya? Too bad too, cuz I so enjoy the defender subclass. Unfortunately, in PvP, its not a defender, but a liability

When they return back to life MK.44 Stand Asides and MIDA Multitool, i'll switch my Sunbreaker to Striker.

I have always played as a Defender, and have long enjoyed steamrolling people in Control with it. I have now adapted my setup for Clash, and take pride in my ability to grant my fireteam 6 orbs of light every two minutes, plus a handful more when heavy drops. In Clash, a Defender alone is not as formidable of a threat. But through him, his entire team can enjoy overwhelming fire superiority in the form of buffs, a bit of cover, and a dramatically reduced super cooldown. (It does make for some real beatings, especially when every other Titan on the team is a Sunbreaker.)

I run striker titan in trials to shut down sunbreakers and other offensive classes. Nightstalker on my hunter and friends like voidwalker for the same reason
