Sunsinger Rework: let's give the warlocks a support class.

Currently warlocks are the only class in the game that don't have a support class. Titans have defender, hunters have nightstalker, but warlocks don't really have one. People could say that Sunsinger is that warlocks support class, but at the moment it is a slightly worse kill super than stormcaller with very meh utility outside of fireborn. I would like to change that. The following are the changes I feel that are needed to make sunsinger a truly great support class, but still letting players have the option of playing the class offensively. Feel free to comment below about what you think and bump of you feel like this should happen. [b][u]Sunsinger rework[/u][/b] [u]Radiance changes[/u]. • Make radiant skin part of the main super perk • add increase allies armor and recovery to song of flame • remove radiant skin perk. • replace radiant skin with " while radiance is active, enemies around you take burn damage. " • change fireborn to " if cast while dead, you do not receive a buff to your armor while radiance is active [u]Scorch changes[/u] • buff Solar wind into what the taken phalanx can do with their shield • removed brimstone • replace with meleeing the ground creates an AoE that buffs allied weapon damage and reload speed while they are inside the AoE. [u]Ability Modifier changes[/u] • Change Radiant Will to " kills while radiant is active extend the duration of radiance. Kills from Allies effected by song of flame extends its duration for half that amount. • switch Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame locations • remove sunburst and Move Gift of the Sun to its place • change Angel of Light to allow you to fly for 20 seconds( jump button =move up, crouch button = move down) cool down = 50% of the time it is used( if if you use it for 20 sec, it has a 10 sec Cd. If you use it for 10 sec, it has a 5 sec CD) , also prevents all fall damage by slowing you desent before hitting the ground. • put " kills with solar damage abilities have a chance to generate Orbs." Were Gift of the Sun was. Edit adding a change log to the bottom of the post. Nerfed the Max duration of Angel of light, changed the Cooldown time to 50%

  • It is a support class? If everyone dies, and you have your super, you can respawn. The extra damage resistance will help you survive while reviving your fire team...

    • Fireborn should just be added as a main effect of all Super variants for Sunsinger. Then, they could add a new effect in its place, and you might see some build variety.

      • Really like this. My only problem is switching touch of flame and Viking funeral. This would mean you can use touch of flame and the extra grenade perk. I think touch of flame and an additional grenade should remain mutually exclusive.

        • um mostly support classes are the ones that can generate the most orbs. Like nightstalker can generate a ton, defender is always generating as long as their bubble is getting hit, and sinsingers can generate orbs by just killing stuff

        • Nah man. Sunsinger has plenty enough Supportive abilities, so long as you spec the Class Abilities correctly. Sure, it's not on an equal plane as the Defender or Nightstalker as far as Suppressive/Buff capabilities, but it has its uses. •Orb Generation second only to Nightstalker. •Greatly Increased Ability cooldowns for teammates •Crazy DPS with DoT effects on Grenades •Zone/Crowd control with AoE Grenades •Self-Res where revives aren't an option •Incredible Survivability with Flame Shield Sometimes Support doesn't mean Shielding your allies, or Suppressing your Enemies, but burning them to ashes long before they even become an issue.

          • Just stand back and use song of light and spam grenades. Let your teammates be aggressive. That's what I do when I'm playind defensively. Not only is Sunsinger my favorite sub class for PvP and PvE, but it can have one of the best aggressive supers in the game. Yes, I went head to head with a sunbreaker and won. It's just about how you play and what you optimize your subclasses to.

                    I would suggest that Sunsingers become a healer class. They already have the Fireborn perk in it, which basically resurrects them. Why not rework this particular skill to make it more beneficial to them instead of being a selfish super (for the most part). Also maybe rework the other perks in that branch that would relate to a Sunsinger's Armor, Recovery, and Agility stats? Here are my suggestions (instead of song of flame, radiant skin, or fireborn): Song of Valor - Upon activation, instantly cleanses all allies of lingering effects (such as burning, poisoned, suppressed) and grants nearby allies a Flame Shield equivalent to 50% of the Sunsinger's current Armor. Song of Life - Upon activation, instantly heals 100 points of damage to all allies. While active, nearby allies receive healing per second equivalent to 10% of the Sunsinger's current Recovery. Song of War - Upon activation, instantly grants increased rate of fire and reload speed to all allies for the Song's duration. While active, nearby allies receive a movement speed bonus equivalent to 25% of the Sunsinger's current Agility. ~ Feedback would be greatly appreciated :-)

                                I also feel the Sunsinger is in definite need of a rework, but I have a different take on it. I have a bit of a [i]radical[/i] suggestion for a Sunsinger rework as it makes the Sunsinger's Super more dynamic than any Super we've seen in Destiny so far: [b]Song of Flame[/b]: [i]For the Self-Rezzer.[/i] While Song of Flame is the active modifier for Radiance, Sunsingers are prohibited from using their Super while they are alive. Upon death, a Sunsinger will be allowed to use his or her Super to Self-Rez from the dead. Furthermore, when a Sunsinger's Super is fully charged, he will obtain a passive ability (similar to the Sunbreaker's Simmering Flame) called "Song of Flame" which will grant nearby allies reduced cooldowns for their grenades and melees as well as convert any kenetic energy weapon into a solar weapon (effects apply to the Sunsinger as well). And finally, when the passive ability "Song of Flame" is active, a Sunsinger will periodically produce 1 orb of light for every ally in close proximity. [b]Fireborn[/b]: [i]For those wishing to be the Taken King.[/i] While Fireborn is the active modifier for Radiance, Sunsingers will be able to conjure the flames of light in ways unimaginable. When Radiance is activated, the Sunsinger can conjure up to 3 minions in a set order: a Fireborn Captain, a Fireborn Knight, and a Fireborn Minotaur. These Fireborn minions have HP, but only stay on the field for a limited time. Each Fireborn's weapon cause small burn over time damage and any kill they achieve creates orbs of light. Allies of the Fireborn minions will not be able to inflict friendly fire damage to them. [b]Radiant Wall[/b]: [i]For those who love PvP.[/i] While Radiant Wall is the active modifier for Radiance, Sunsingers will be able to erect a flame monolith that can act as cover. The monolith's duration would be similar to that of the Titan's bubble. Any allies in proximity to the monolith gain bonus reload speed and recovery. Any enemies in proximity to the monolith have their abilities disabled and become blinded. Any enemies under the influence of the monolith that are slain create orbs of light for the Sunsinger.

                                • Radiance should heal Make Flame Shield proc on kill and reduce its durability to 25% but is also given to allies nearby Solar Wind is an AoE knock back and provides a significant agility boost to the warlock and allies Brimstone explosion also blinds nearby enemies Sunburst procs 100% of the time Radiant Skin no longer provides additional damage reduction but blinds on activation Combine Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame the burn duration will be reduced to compensate New Touch of Flame makes fire ability kills give bonus recovery stacking 3x Yeah that how it could be supportive. Overpowered? Probably. They could make Voidwalker supportive so all Void elements are the support subclasses.

                                      it needs a complete overhaul: warlock sunsinger "insert description here" grenades: solar grenade:bigger AoE, lasts longer fusion grenade: no longer a one hit kill, but causes a burning effect to anyone in the blast firebolt grenade: no changes jump: jumps are fine super: radiance decrease the cooldown of all abilities for you and all nearby allies (melee and grenades now take 7 seconds to recharge, in replace for the 20 second melee and 2.5 second grenade charge). weapons reload faster, and aiming your weapon in the air allows you to float their for 4 seconds. upgrades: song of flames: allies gain an overshield upon activating your super. allies weapons reload faster as well. radiant shield: you and nearby allies gain increased armor when your super is active. (about 66% as strong as it is now) fireborn: radiance can now be activated from beyond the grave, giving you 1/2 your normal super energy but also rallying your allies, giving them increased agility for 4 seconds melee: scorch: hitting an enemy causes them to loose health over time. upgrades: flaming wind: hitting an enemy with scorch knocks them back (not the small amount it does now, but a good 5 - 6 meters) flame shield: KILLING an enemy with scorch gives you an overshield combustion: enemies killed by scorch explode, sending a signal to you rallies causing their weapons to reload faster and ready faster.

                                    • Sunsinger is by far the subclass i hate the most. There is nothing 'Super' about its super, i understand that a subclass is more than its super but just spaming grenades isnt interesting.
