the Infusion system is a failure in its current state. why should I have to spend so many weapon parts (and exotic shards for exotics? are you kidding me? you don't even let us buy shards from xur anymore) and rely on RNG just to max out weapons that I actually like using? it's almost impossible to get non-raid weapons past 313-315 without relying on getting lucky a few times every week in the hard mode raid. give us ascension back or fix infusion because infusion sucks, and it's just bungie's way of making us grind more.
this game has become way more boring ever since TTK came out. a 20 year old could've designed this game to be more fun and fulfilling. the combination of infusion, a lack of weapon parts, the now uselessness of motes of light(aside from leveling up gear quickly), severe pvp imbalance, the fact that all previous content in destiny has been made obsolete, and that the only things there are left to do in destiny are the raid, trials, and iron banner. and two of those things are broken because the gear you're going to get from it is going to have the same stats as vanguard gear.
thanks bungie, for making 80% of the content (and it was fun content too. the vault of glass is still probably the most well designed and most fun raid in this game) in this game pointless, aside from the intrinsic value people derive merely by playing the game. the only reason I play anymore is if I want to kick ass in trials for fun with my friends. but other than that, this game doesn't provide much incentive to play. and I'm willing to bet a large sum of money that statistics will show people are playing destiny a lot less because of it. This shit needs to stop. honestly, I'm only playing destiny anymore because I'm waiting for other games to come out. fallout 4 anyone?

1 ReplyInfusion works perfectly. It's supposed to be harder to find higher level weapons especially once you get above 300. I was irritated that I could max out all 3 of my characters light in just a week after HoW. It's supposed to be a challenge, maxing your light should be very difficult to do. The higher level you are, the harder it should get. Infusion worked perfectly from 200 to 300, obviously it's going to be a less frequent option. 305-310 equipment is going to be super rare as it should be.

Complain more please

i think infusion is the best idea destiny had in TTK it just needs a few tweeks... you need to be able to reforge weapons again and allow us to reforge armor now - its getting old finding a great armor piece but it benefit a gun you dont use... plus my motes are building up fast - BRING BACK REFORGE the glass needles are great so id leave them alone... xûr just needs to sell exotic shards again maybe the gunsmith should sell weapon parts for glimmer too?...
-
I personally think infusion is a great idea. I didn't like maxing all my characters in less than a week using Etheric Light and Exotic Shards. That just felt cheap and like a band-aid fix. Trying to reach max light should be some what of a grind, and I think expectations for Y2 leveling was it would be on par with Y1, and that clearly isn't the case.
-
4 RepliesI don't think infusion is bad at all... I think they should put infusion on all of the year one gear, including VOG and Crota... they should also put all of the year one stuff back in the loot table and back on the vendors...

2 RepliesEdited by William Litten: 10/19/2015 4:43:04 PMDoes anything higher than 300 (armor or weapons) make a difference? Will a 310 weapon actually damage a level 42 or 41 higher than a 300 level?
-
1 ReplyInfusion should cost less and make the armor/damage the same as the dismantled one, but other than that it's great

5 RepliesThis update in terms of quests, UID, story missions and storage has been amazing. Im really excited about having full acces to my shaders, emblems and gear without it taking up space in my vault. I really couldnt have asked for more. In terms of replayability bungie has missed the mark. I was so excited to hear about the heroic strike playlist when the update was announced. Only to find out its rewards were not as promised and the entire playlist only has a couple of strikes. Why? Why would you not put all the strikes in? These decisions baffle me beyond believe. Crucible is still broken. Enough said. POE? Why would anyone still play this game mode? Bungie has released a game update which has totally made some game modes obsolete. As a gamedesign student this is something my brain cannot understand. Your limiting your own game guys.... Etheric light? Useless. All my old gear? Useless. All my weapons I grinded 2000 hours for? Useless. Ttk update has been the same story as every update so far. 2 steps forward 1 step back. When will these dudes learn?

4 RepliesAgreed. I'm just biding time until Fallout 4 releases.

25 RepliesEdited by Mr Bossypants: 10/18/2015 10:22:06 PMWelcome to games with "progressive" content. You say old content/gear is obsolete and yet Vault of Glass gear is still good for Vault of Glass, Crotas End is good for Crotas End and Prison of Elders Gear is still good for the Prison of Elders. You whine about new content worse than a Pokémon "genwunner." PvP and PvE are both entirely different beasts from each other. In PvE, light level matters and yet in PvP it doesn't. The only argument you can make is Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris needing higher light level drops. As for class and Weapon balancing in PvP, Bungie has done a lot better. We're not having to fight in the Iron Suros and Trials of Thorn. There is more variety and that's important. Now the new subclasses are out, of course there's bugs and a little imbalance. In a progressively developed game like Destiny, the developers will put out fixes but they can't do so the minute your entitled ass demands. Bungie is listening to feedback, they will put out fixes to help balance the game more. You can't be an impatient little child about it. As for the Infusion system, it has been the single best feature of the Taken King. It has absolutely made the need for raid gear obsolete, except for light levels to level up. With the light level scaling, we DON'T HAVE TO HIT THE MAX TO BE EFFECTIVE. I've been maining my Warlock. I have a very good gear set for him. Know how many raid pieces I use on him? 2. A shotgun and a ghost shell. I might not be the highest level at 310, but I'm a damn well geared 305. Infusion makes those lower level legendaries with great perk rolls all the more valuable. Exotic armors even roll different perks and that makes duplicates much more valuable. We can more effectively build our characters and yet you bitch and moan about weapon parts and exotic shards which are still plentiful if you play the game. Even with infusing exotics requiring shards, I'm STILL gaining more shards than I use. Seriously, this game has been vastly improved. It has even more room for improvement and will still continue to be improved. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? Quit whining!
-
10 RepliesInfusing isn't nearly as great as I first thought. Run the raid three times a week hoping to get higer-level gear, get nothing but low-light-level duplicates of stuff you already have. Wait for reset. Rinse. Repeat. Disappointed again. Rinse. Repeat.

Lol how many times has bungie nerfed, buffed, changed things in this game. Different light levels, currency change every dlc etc etc etc. and they still haven't got it right

1 ReplyGRIND GRIND GRIND YOUR SHIT... TILL YOU HIT THE MAX THEN BUNGIE WILL RAISE THE CAPS... SO YOU CAN GRIND GRIND GRIND YOUR SHIT ... TILL YOU HIT MAX THEN BUNGIE WILL MAKE YOUR SHIT OBSOLETE ....SO YOU CAN START AGAIN ... Yes this game used to be awesome... I was so looking forward to having all weapons in year one... got to enjoy them 1 month... then bungie did the unexpected They made all my shit obsolete....now Im infusing the fook out of my weapons...and almost hit the max.... But soon the light level will be raised... of course your gear will not AUTOMATICALLY go up with that new level... you wont get a token to update it... though I expect them to sell that crap @ eververse soon ... Noooooooo.... you have to grind and grind and grind...till you are lucky enough to get something high enough you can infuse... And once you are done... your gear is max... dont celebrate...expect another raise of the light level to come really soon.... I understand its rewarding to get stuff... but can I enjoy it a bit longer ??? without feeling screwed constantly bungie ??? Stop this raising of light levels constantly ! Once per year is enough !
-
I don't disagree with all of your post but I am enjoying TTK. I would love to bring my VoC to year 2 and have it be a viable weapon. Maybe this could be a one-time irreversible option that we get once a year. We are allowed to bring one weapon from the previous year and bring it up to current attack levels. Just a thought!
-
3 RepliesWhat? Infusion is great... Keep using what gear you want rather then having to use raid gear...
-
Infusion is fantastic. Without that I would only have 3 310 gear on my warlock, with it I'm only missing 3
-
I think it's fine. The only issue is they really need to increase the higher level drops from the raid. I should never get a 300 drop from the raid. That's not even useful for infusion. I think there's is plenty of content in the game for normal people. I'm more of the obsessed type that puts many hours in a night after work and there are still quest lines I haven't finished yet. Also hard mode is coming out soon so that will be a fun challenge. The big question is with the new content releases no longer being DLC that is paid for what can we expect to see? The hope is that there will be content drops that are around the same size as the past DLC's (Hopefully larger) but the worry is that they will be much smaller. However if they are smaller the hope is that they are far more frequent. I'm actually ok if there's a gap in new stuff. I play so much Destiny that there is a literal pile of unplayed new games waiting for me. It would be nice to be able to break away for a bit.

3 RepliesYou can buy exotic engrams with strange coins and than delete them for shards.
-
2 RepliesWhat, I thought infusion was great.
-
I like it. Opens up options for gear. Adds play ability. Good choice Bungie. Glad you seen the mistake with HoW
-
I infuse a 310 into a -blam!-ing 305 and get a 309 WTF!!!
-
I'm waiting for other games to come out.
This^ Only reason i log on now is for the raid 3x, getting rekd by rng everytime... When will i learn and just let it go?...
-
Well there's no new expansions coming for this game so I'm predicting that bungie revamps and re-releases old content throughout the year. I expect that soon enough we will start getting old strikes/raids/poe very soon. I can't for the life of me figure out why on earth bungie would want to let that content die off, seeing as pretty much 100% of players don't like losing content and also like having a lot of content to play. It can't be that hard to reskin the old weapons/armor and boost the enemies up to level 40.

In your opinion

To be honest I really like infusion. I only play as a hunter so it's really nice to finally have a use for all the titan and warlock exotic gear I get besides adding another shard to the collection. Got my hunter to 309 over the weekend because of it. Learning the best way to use the three of coins will help you out tremendously. Using it the wrong way will lead you to create a thread about how infusion sucks. Just my two cents.
