24 RepliesIf evolution were true, then where is the evidence of different types of animals now "evolving" into other types?

10 RepliesEdited by LiamCDM: 10/13/2015 11:27:56 PMEvolution has actual scientific proof backing it and all creation has is a 2000 year old book written 1500 years before the rise of modern science.

38 RepliesMany people are saying that Christianity is "stupid" or "silly" and "childish". What is I told u that Evolution is all of those? or even that Atheism is all of those? People say it is silly to believe that a perfect being created a world with no flaws where everything went together perfectly. Then they say; " It was all by chance. It was just luck that the universe was created in such a perfect way that all the planets have the perfect amount of gravity and stuff to make them move perfectly in space. and on Earth, which was also made in accident, everything worked perfectly to keep life going. Water just magically appeared and happen to have the perfect composition to supports life and we just so happened to have a perfectly created ecosystem that cleans the water for us and gives us everything we need to survive. We were also made accidentally. it was by mistake that we had perfectly made bodies to support us and allow us to reproduce. our bodies were just made like that's with no thought. and the animals we eat, same thing. Everything in this universe was made by accident. there was no plan, no creator, no design. It just happen and it created and extremely complicated work that we don't understand and will never figure out by chance.". Which makes more sense? I could have gone so much more in depth about our individual DNA coding structures and how the universe just magically created an extremely 4 digit code that works perfectly by accident. I could go even more in depth about how the acids that make the DNA and RNA have the perfect composition to do their jobs. I could keep going on and on. "It all happen by chance and us humans, the thousands of unique animals, millions of unique fish and plants, and everything else are just the result of luck". Please...

So, several decades of long, hard research, work, study, ect from hundreds of distinguished, reputable, and knowledgeable practitioners of that art VS some kind of satanic "science" belief?
lol. Really though, why does this debate still exist? It's almost as bad as anti-vaccination.
42 RepliesEvolution. Let's, for a moment, look at the history of religion. Pre-modern era religion. Say for instance... The Greek. They had a God for every inexplicable thing that happened in their time. The sun moving across the sky, Apollo, then the moon, Selene. Lightning strikes and thunder claps, Zues. For the unknowns of the ocean there was Poseidon. As science advanced, and all these unknowns were explained all of these Gods lost their credibility, and ceased being Gods. They faded into history and became fiction. The same general idea is still in play today. There are things we can't explain, or don't know, and so there is a God in place for them. Coincidences or probabilities are "miracles". The cause of the Big Bang is unknown, so we cling to the idea that some greater form caused it. In due time, not necessarily in our time, these things will be explained. And the current God will fade just as all the Gods of the past have.

1 ReplyEvolution, obviously. Of course you could always believe women were created by ripping out a rib of a human male and it grew into a human female...because...you know...magic. Oh also guys, the bible is the claim, not the evidence so stop asking people supporting natural selection to provide evidence if you cannot do the same. It does not for good discussion make.

2 RepliesEdited by Chrispy: 10/13/2015 10:10:39 PMThousands of years ago, humans wanted a theory to explain the lightning. So, man created one. Many people believed it, others said "meh", could be something else, and created their own explanation. These religions battled each other for ages, and continue to do so, as new religions are created and old ones die out. Currently, there are not one, but two gods that scientists believe in. These gods explain everything that can be explained, yet holes exist in the logic. General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics are these two gods. Some scientists believe they are one and the same and their 'religion'(theories) revolves such a truth. Many others have had to constantly create new religions to explain why these two don't cooperate with each other. These theories of everything and Grand Unified Theories, (such as String theory, M theory, Loop Quantum Gravity, Trinification, Chiral Color, and more) all have a vastly different belief system, despite the common source of their belief ::: Math. As time goes on and more truths are uncovered about the universe and the gods that scientists believe in, these religions will be replaced with new ones, that also don't quite explain everything (despite claiming to), nor will they agree with each other. Yes, I'm saying that because Science itself is composed of theories that are regularly dumped for new ones, Science itself is composed of dozens of competing theories in the form of religions vying for the people's belief (and Congress's grant money) until a whole new set of religions replaces them to start the cycle over again. As for me? The only religion I believe in is Math, as Math is always right (even if the formulas to explain math aren't always right), even if 99.999999999% of it will only ever exist in a theoretically perfect scenario that just doesn't exist in the real world.
