If you want to be serious...
Would you be happy if your grimoire score was zero? Could you be a skilled and successful player and have a low score?
I think more of players with high scores, as they obviously share a similar mindset to mine. They might stuck at crucible or raids, but so might anyone else. A high score reduces the odds of that.
It's a success metric not everyone shares, but it's far from useless.

The best fps players in the world could come along and after a few days of practice could probably dominate in crucible, (especially if everyone had the same gear,) That's because they are skilled at PvP fps. They would naturally have virtually no grimoire score. Another example: say I had max grimoire score and you had 0, if we went head to head in the crucible 100 times and you won all 100, would you still say I was better than you? I could go boost my score just by finding some more ghosts, that takes no skill at all, but some people think it would make me a better player. See what I'm saying? In represents experience and that is useful in some cases, (such as raids, etc) but it doesn't equal skill.

You're missing my point: if my goal in Destiny is to explore, experience and measure that by my grimoir score, why would I care if you win 100/100 matches in the crucible? It's not my success metric. What I'm trying to say is "useless" is in the eye of the beholder.
-
I have absolutely no problem with that. Everyone can play their way. I'm not an elitist that says "do it my way or u suk!11!!" My point is, that reflects experience of the game and not someone's skill at it. All the examples I gave are reflectors of skill. It's like all the people with 4000+ score who've never run sword or relic.
-
True, but in the absence of seeing someone play, there are few ways to tell how someone might perform. If all I could do was see someone's grimoir score that's an indicator of experience. A look at their gear would be even better, of course. Even then, you never know!
-
Exactly! an indication of experience. It would be like having a max score player turning up to take crota on, using a shotgun! I have the up most respect for people who want to go after grimoire and if I see them in a game I know they know what they're doing. But I don't think it means they're any better than me.
-
Ghosts are less than 1/7th of the total Grimoire. Just thought you should know.
-
That would still drop a score of 4500 to 3800 for example. Add in some other scores, for example the ones you get just for entering codes on the website. You can very quickly make a high score look more average. The point is it sstill the same, a significant portion of score is non skill based and comes more from experience.
-
Codes on the website aren't worth points, only cards. You really don't understand how this works, do you?
-
What it actually shows is I don't give a -blam!- about grimoire! I know I don't need it to be better than some people. That comes from my skill not grinding out certain tasks or following YouTube guides to find hidden items. My score is still going up as I get more kills with different guns/classes. Therefore I'm more experienced, I am not getting more accurate or skilled.

Judging by your recent activity you're just a pathetic little bitch troll. Enjoy the mute ;)

Aww is the baby mad? Good. Let the butthurt flow. And cry some more,I need the tears for a bounty.

And that there is why I love the internet. People resorting to infantile retorts and comebacks rather than having a mature discussion and accepting the fact you may actually be wrong.
