KF doesn't require 295-290 Light.
I ran as a 292/293.
We had 2 300+
1 280
And a few 295
2 people had to leave at Oryx so I gave up.

9 RepliesIf you aren't 295+, you haven't beaten the raid. You also don't do nearly as much damage against oryx as I would. I have every right to want to search for players that are actually experienced and have the best gear. I've helped out multiple teams of noobs, but there are times that I just don't have that kind of patience. I've spent enough time wiping over and over because 2 players are incompetent.

Destiny doesn't require guns but we use them because it's more effective.

Edited by TheBoss2562: 10/9/2015 1:44:56 PMI don't really care about people like that. I'd rather play with my friends that I learned how to run VoG and CE with.

I like to get it done quick, and not explain the whole raid to people

1 ReplyDriving isn't required to get to places either. We do it because it's better.

lol git gud

thats nice

Get good

I 4 manned the whole raid with a 305(me), a 293, 292, and a 287. I agree with you.

295+ usually guarantees that the player has already completed the raid. I think that is why most groups ask for it. I have completed it with a 279 in my group with no difficulties whatsoever, so if the player is good, the light does not matter.

These threads are getting real old. KF doesn't require 300. Not at all. But if I'm short on time and want a quick smooth run, then you're damn right I'm requiring 300.
-
My team carried a 259 though the entire raid, even oryx.
-
If i want 295+ then that's what I'll look for.

5 RepliesTo be fair, if people want a set requirement in light level - that's their wish. Either meet the request or find another group. You could always start your own LFG you know? I feel like if half the people complaining about finding a pickup group just made their own thread saying "NO REQS" they'd get a group in moments. But then you'd feel the pain of the people that a post of "NO REQS" brings out, and you'd likely start putting in some reqs lol.

So you got carried.
-
I ran upto golgoroth as a 272 and I was doing fine but had to get off at golgoroth sad face
-
The lowest recorded light level to complete a raid Is supposedly 276.

Very few people understand how the new system works. Being 290 light means you deal 100% damage to 290 enemies. The power difference for being below by 5 points or so is much more negligible than hard levels last year. So good for you.

3 Replies>Op doesn't have good light >Op doesn't have a good group >Op can't beat oryx >Lmfao git rekt

54 RepliesEdited by Lucius Aelius: 10/7/2015 6:16:15 PMSo are you saying you didn't even beat Oryx, but you're criticizing those of us who have for asking to have a proper level? Lol, talk about hypocrisy. Of course you don't need to be 295, but Oryx is 300 so at 295 you're already underleveled and not doing proper damage, so those of us like me asking for 295+ (when I'm 308) are already willing to settle for low level players by asking that. The fact is that a team of sub-295's will almost certainly have a very hard time with it, and any higher levels present will be carrying everyone else. I'm okay with carrying friends occasionally to help get them to the point where they're the proper level themselves, but if I'm looking for randoms to fill out a team, which is already a dicey proposition, you'd better believe I'm going to say 295+ because I can't be bothered to carry randoms through every single time and I also want to hedge my bets that I'll get a player who can hold their own, which becomes impossible the lower your level gets. Skill matters more than level only to a point, because the damage you deal and take scales with level and once you're 5 light levels underleveled or below it starts to become increasingly dramatic how useless you are in a fight, and no matter how good you are you will be being carried through. I actually played with people my own level to get to the point where I am, not asking for people to carry me, and I don't have any respect for randoms who are butthurt about me refusing to carry them. I don't mind being asked by a lower level to carry them, but if I say no don't whine like a little bitch, accept it as being a reasonable thing for me to do and move on. And make a post asking for people of your level and your amount of experience if you don't want to be carried, you'll see for yourself how hard it is to perform at that level, and if you can actually manage to beat Oryx while in a team of all 290-294's, then good for you, you will have earned it like the rest of us already did just getting to the point where we are now.

1 ReplyWe ran through it with 282-294. Was easy. Had to leave at oryx because mom was in the hospital.

I require 305+
-
There is absolutely no arguing that you are right about what is needed to complete the raid...but you are talking about having been un a group where the people playing are skilled enough to do that...if i get on lfg and take anyone 280 and above, i have no idea who im gonna get and the likelyhood is thay they will not have the skill to make up for the lack of light level. This being said, a higher light level removes the need for highly skilled players so people dont have to worry about spending hours and hours in the raid Btw this is coming from a guy who never goes into a raid without bringing someone new, i like teaching people but i dont think others should have to.

Not required if, but just makes it easier.
