Etheric Light Was a Great Idea
Etheric Light gives players a way to individualize their characters despite continuous stat increases. This really should carry on into year 2. The weapons and armor you have designed thus far have been really cool, we are going to seek out the new stuff... you don't have to force us out of the old stuff by making it sub par...

So, I agree that Etheric Light is an excellent idea. However, year 2 is going to be a different animal and I'm willing to give whatever mechanics they have set in place for year 2 a go before I say that Etheric Light should carry into year 2. I'm actually looking forward to getting rid of most of my old armor. I've been looking for a reason to shard the hideous CE gear.

Should drop only from endgame, should be about as rare as a cipher, but yes. Throwing away a year of content is literally throwing all of that dev money out the window. I dont think they have the balls honestly.

I'm sure I can get over the weapons eventually, but my armor is signature to my characters, especially my Titan.

Let's wait and see what happens closer to year 3. Remember in TDB we could ascend old gear but with HoW we could. Could be similar in year 2.

I thought it was a great idea and hopefully it will be reintroduced at the end of year 2. I am however glad it is not being carried into the start of year 2.

3 RepliesEdited by RagingPheonix00: 8/19/2015 9:36:33 AMremember they are doing a complete replacement cause they cant figure out how to broaden the scope of gear by keeping the old gear relevant so they just went and said this file hold all the old gear, this file holds all the new gear, lets put this file on the shelf so we force people to change. we want them to play it a certain way, there is no free decisions, you use these guns or get your ass beat, mean while after that meeting thet realize they have no clue what they are doing and release an item to bring it all up to the same relevance and say oh we gonna nerf some stuff cause it was not intended after it was our full intention and deej decided to turn himself into a banana, id say he should turn him self into Hilary Clintons dildo cause I see the banana being of more use to some one.

1 ReplyIt was but I think now its pointless only if you already have what you needed. I think Bungie messed up tho. Was pretty sure they said all new Gear in HoW is already the new Tier 365/586 weapon and armor. And only needed Light for Previous Weapons. But only the Fallen Guns were 365....

I like the fact you can upgrade all the old weapons but I would like a more complex way of leveling weapons so we don't get bored again too quickly.

Should be used as an upgrade item for altering your weapons/armor in TTK. Or the option to break it down for 5000 glimmer and/or trade to the speaker for 5 motes

Armour no longer constitutes level in TTK so wear whatever you want to. Weapons right now are the same across the board for almost everyone So with the new stuff on board along with the three new weapon foundries Weapons will (hopefully) be drastically different Ascension killed House of Wolves in little to no time. So I'm glad it's going.
