Obviously because with the release of TTK we'll see a new badass Sniper and Rocket Launcher and Bungie didn't want Vanilla Exotics to out shine their Exotic 'stars' of year 2.
Relax people, Destiny year 2 will be awesome. Haters are always gonna hate! I don't have a Gjallarhorn and wouldn't use it if I did, Icebreaker has been sat in my Vault for a while now too.
Switch up your load outs people, start breaking your ties with your favourite legendaries. Out with the old, in with the new.
There'll be more info about TTK weapons and armour in tomorrows weekly update, as said by DeeJ.
I can't wait for TTK!
EDIT: It seems that ALL posts on the Bungie forums attract the worse, most simple people in existence. Once again RNG fails to deliver something decent to me!

Unthinking it's not so much the new guns but the new light level of 50. Could you imagine gali with level 50 guardian.
-
Agreed
-
I think House of Wolves was supposed to do the same thing. But there weren't any weapons in HoW that surpassed anything already out. Which is why everyone just stuck with their old gear. I hope that Bungie hasn't realized that TTK will have the same problem so rather than making better weapons, they just nerf the old ones to make the new ones look better. But I'm looking forward to whatever we get. I'm still hoping for the best.
-
That thing you said about them not wanting the vanilla exotics to outshine the TTK exotics.. Why wouldn't they just make better TTK exotics that would outshine the vanilla ones? When they want to make one thing look better by making something else look worse, that thing is probably not very good to begin with. Imagine if every time a company came out with a new product, they just broke the old products? IF that's what they're really thinking, they have gotta know that that's not the way to go about this process.

6 RepliesDoesn't have gjallarhorn and says he wouldn't use if he did lol people who don't have it say that kind of rubbish, people that do have it use it simple
-
12 RepliesPost your thoughts after you have acquired The Gjallarhorn and I would bet your opinion would change 110%. If not, you are one very misinformed individual or you just enjoy doing easy, mindless patrol missions or anything that does not require special weapons by yourself.
-
1 ReplyJust copy paste my version of why Bungie is nerfs our equipment. The reason Bungie nerfs our weapons and armor, is that they want us to start all over again ... So we all go out and chase new equipment in The Taken King, Like we did in the beginning of the game. So nerfs have nothing to do with some weapons are too good or stagnant in the game But this is so stupid, people will still run all the missions, raids, strikes etc. in The Taken King, I think that Bungie screws those of us who have used a lot of hours playing this game to get our equipment.

1 ReplyIm reckoning there will be an exotic called 'remmah kcalb' with a perk called 'lian etihw' and the model for it is the black hammer model but flipped round so it shoots out the stock.
-
14 RepliesHow about I play the game the way I want? Bungie nor you have any right to tell me what loadout to use.
-
6 RepliesThe only thing I find funny about the Gjallarhorn nerf is their logic for doing it. They say it will reduce "assembling raid team must have gally" posts. Look at it this way. The entire life cycle of Crota's End hard mode you can down Crota with 2 Gjallarhorn shots. Now what if it takes 3? Or even 4? That means people will want all Gjallarhorn teams more so than they already did.
-
9 RepliesYou don't have a gally so I don't think you can accurately announce that you wouldn't use it. How many people say the same thing? "Oh I wouldn't use that even if I had it." Then they get and its like "wow I love this thing." And yeah it's used to speed up the killing process but.....isn't that the point? Lmao. If you don't like killing things fast then use a green gun. That will prove to me that you enjoy long ass battles. Personally I would rather pump 14 rockets into omnigul and be done with her than sit there for an hour using a different gun
-
Because the last two expansions have brought such great gear and weapons......... Dragons breath, NLB, and Shank burn for the win
-
5 RepliesUmm no... this is just like 300-331 weapons bungie had to make vanilla weapons good so people would buy the game but after 2 expansions of crap weapons their just lowering the baseline I want guns that ate BETTER than gally or icebreaker in their prime not the same or worse?? If I've already experienced this games best weapon designs why keep playing??

Obviously because with the release of TTK we'll see a new badass Sniper and Rocket Launcher and Bungie didn't want Vanilla Exotics to out shine their Exotic 'stars' of year 2.
That's why they need to nerf the old weapons... Right.
Relax people, Destiny year 2 will be awesome. Haters are always gonna hate!
So great? So great they have to nerf their older weapons to make the newer ones more appealing?
I don't have a Gjallarhorn and wouldn't use it if I did,
This literally made me lol. That's a lie. You're so fresh to this game, it's funny.
. Out with the old, in with the new.
Lol, guess thats bungie's quote. Out with the old in with the new. And in talking about their players if you don't catch my drift.
There'll be more info about TTK weapons and armour in tomorrows weekly update, as said by DeeJ.
Do you work for bungie? Lol
-
9 RepliesFirst thing, if you got Gjallarhorn... you would use it. Second, you're saying that we shouldn't use guns we love.
-
8 RepliesSo excited for more shank burn weapons, if we're lucky we will get thrall burn too. Can't wait
-
1 ReplyMainly because they made the raids and strikes to easy and because (same with Thorn, final round etc) if you didn't have one you couldn't join a raid team which isn't in the spirit of the game. Elitists did it to themselves.
-
4 RepliesNo. Just no. I grinded for all my weapons, I'm not just gonna drop them and say "yay! give me more exotics that you'll take away in a year."
-
5 RepliesSo it is a good thing we are being deprived of our invested efforts? This already caused a huge outcry with DLC1... Don't be blind. Infact, this is an old MMO move: Nerf the old stuff, make the new DLC stuff OP, so you have to buy it. Nerf the DLC stuff later and call it "balancing". Release next OP DLC. Maybe I'm what you'd like to call a "hater", but at least I'm not naive and submissive to Bungie.
-
16 RepliesI want to switch out my loadouts, but for weapons that I want to use. not because my old weapons were nerfed to crap, and are now garbage at things they used to be great for. I would have accepted not being able to ascend old gear, because that's the nature of progressively leveled gear, but trashing things I worked hard for is much less acceptable.
-
The reason for most nerfs have been "people are using them too much" it doesn't make a bit of sense. No matter what there will be an optimal loadout for endgame activities. They can't just nerf that loadout every time they check the data of who's using what. Basically they are saying you have to use what we want you to, so endgame activities take more time. Nothing to do with new weapons, if they were really concerned with what's being used they'd buff other exotics to put them on par.
-
So you support the following as a reason to nerf a gun? We strive for Destiny to be a place where a single weapon or strategy does not dictate how, or with whom, you spend your time. In the new world Gjallarhorn is still worthy of its legacy as an exotic Heavy Weapon, but we hope it promotes inclusive behavior rather than exclusivity. Changes Reduce damage of Wolfpack Rounds That should disturb you to no end. They are changing a weapon because it's being used to much and people want to specify who they run with. Why should they care what people use in PvE? Do they honestly think that nerfing the gun to punish the community is going to create goodwill and happiness to jump out of Crota's rear? If a player wants to do patrols with two other people that are carrying ghorns and use them exclusively...WHO CARES? Oh yeah, it's not the way it was meant to be played. If you are content with them deciding what style of game you will play and with what weapons, then you're the perfect target user. I resent being forced to do anything. and forced inclusivity is a 100 times worse.

3 RepliesI think you should quit making reasons up for Bungie. They never stated this so it shouldn't be spread as though it's fact. I'm not saying that this might actually be the case though. But what really irks me, and what Bungie seems incapable of doing is being honest with its fanbase. They are almost never honest and always end up doing things in a roundabout manner. If Bungie were to be 100% in all of their explanations for the game, they wouldn't have so many fans raging. Yes people would still argue their points, but at least most would understand their point of view and respect their decisions. Right now, we have two different parties. Those that take what Bungie says for what it is, and those that's delve deeper, some even coming up with conspiracy theories. And this separates the community because now nobody knows what's true and what's false. We argue about what could be a lie from Bungie and what could be the truth about Bungie. And this is all Bungie's fault. If players had clarity in any and all issues involving the game, we MIGHT just be able to come up with a compromise that all players and Bungie could agree with. But that's impossible the way it is now. The community that Bungie is so proud of cultivating is just going to get worst if they don't start actually working with the players and finding solutions. And the point of my post is to not make up any reasons as to why Bungie do what they do. This can only cause more confusion and could end up worsening the game. For example. Vault expansion. EVERYONE and their mom believe that's Destiny can't increase vault space because of old gen, when this is not the case and Bungie never stated this. They increased the vault space before as a quick fix and expanded this quick fix vault expansion as much as they could considering old gen. They also stated that they would have a better solution for more vault expansion at a later date. But now, since everyone believes that old gen is the problem, Bungie may just scrap vault expansion entirely because a huge majority of players have already given up on more space in their vault. Why fix something like the vault when players are content dismantling their weapons and armor now? That was just an example, but it's purpose still rings true. Don't spread any information if you aren't 100% sure it's the truth. And if it's a theory, state that it's a theory clearly on your post. Making excuses for Bungie, no matter how well thought out it might sound isn't going to fix matters. It's only going to create more confusion in an already very confusing community.

Good to see someone with an optimistic outlook, don't worry about these toxic people

1 ReplyIs this what deej told you to write when he took his dick out of your mouth?
-
I can't believe everybody's game is broken and they can't just switch heavy weapons. How did gallys get stuck for so many people?
oh wait you can use what you want to.
