Just trying to see what other people think, you don't need to be ass for someones different opinion. And go...
Edit: Wow over 20 replies in and hour.
I like the idea of no exotics. My personal opinion though would be to just take off the radar and promote movement and flanking.

2 RepliesEdited by Mister Nice Guy: 7/6/2015 6:39:36 PM1. All level advantages disabled 2. Non-elemental and reforgeble weapons as rewards (seriously, why not allow me to reforge Jewels or Messenger if I want to? 3. Reaching mercury only requires 9 wins, having access to the "flawless tier" (see below) requires a flawless run 4. Move flawless tier as an added layer after reaching mercury, where you go against other mercury players of similar skill/rank and you get a very special emblem only accessible to those players, and an opportunity to CHOOSE what weapon you want from a select vendor (instead of a chest, leave the RNG chest to players who could not get flawless on this tier) 5. Remove exotic weapons from the flawless competition tier (this is a long term vision to possibly making community tournament streams off said tier) 6. Add an spectator mode to watch your friends and their team from the roster within game (similar to how you can see others play while you're a dead ghost) 7. Rotate team spawns at mid-match (at least) 8. Saving the best for last: MOST IMPORTANTLY, DEDICATED SERVERS I think that's all I can think of. Maybe #1 to apply only to the flawless tier, if people really care about having that light-level edge, but we really need the "flawless tier" bit to make it truly competitive and brag-worthy. Someone else also suggested these, which I like:
Gear is locked in for the whole match prior to start for no exotic heavy switching etc. a single set of gear that you have to work with to deal with any play style. Week long trials with weekly reset.
Add matchmaking Ban exotic weapons and armors Make the revive timers a bit longer Take off heavy round

1 ReplyEdited by Nssun: 7/6/2015 5:23:02 PM1 - Matchmaking 2 - Skill based tiers 3 - Lighthouse is the same, but aside from chest room there's another room with Brother Vance waiting for you inside, and he's wearing nothing but a smile on his face.
-
No exotic weapons would be perfect
-
2 RepliesNo supers, starting nade, no exotics and starting jump only.
-
1 ReplyOnly thorns and final round snipers allowed
-
No radar
-
Only one thing No exotic weapons.
-
Flip the spawns every three rounds Make the Lighthouse just 9 wins Make elemental primaries flawless only Remove boon, mercy, and gift of Osiris This weeks flawless teams will face other flawless teams Disable revives
-
1 ReplyOnly require 9 wins on a passage for mercury, don't matter if flawless or not. And Social Space stays open forever, only the chest is locked out til next streak.

I'd rather see a team deathmatch type of game mode thats score based rather than elimination based. Elimination modes are and will always be boring to me. Not enough action.
-
No heavy round
-
No revives. Or only 1 life a round

Hmmm. Well haven't played much trials. Didn't find it fun at all. And I'm just lousy at consistent pvp. I'll do great then mediocre to crappy then great and go in circles. But I didn't like the short rounds. Id prefer slightly longer matches. And something other than deathmatch. But that's all they care about with this games pvp. Damn shame really. Could have such fun with real team games. Mostly I don't know really. Haven't thought what Id want different. Just nothing resembling what it is now. Would completely delete it and start fresh. But Id pretty much say that about all of crucible. They could keep the deathmatch and one of the other death matches. Then actually come up with something different instead of even more death matches like we have now. But, but control! Yep, just another team death match. Boring!

No supers. No exotics. No radar. Dedicated servers.

1 ReplyI'd like to see you only get one card per week. Period. You'd see a lot of people step there game up and think twice about who they bring along for a flawless run. And it would keep guys who can go flawless repeatedly from doing it over and over just to deny other players.

Ban thorn

No supers. No exotics. One map always. The map is unavailable in regular crucible. It's a basic symmetrical map reminiscent of amplified from H3. This would be the only way to make it as skill based as possible. Unless we're restricted to commons. Which I'd be fine with.

3 RepliesAfter 5 rounds, switch sides. Gear is locked in for the whole match prior to start for no exotic heavy switching etc. a single set of gear that you have to work with to deal with any play style. Week long trials with weekly reset. In overtime, rather than just cap a point, sudden death with no revives.

Participating in the Tournament should grant access to the Lighthouse. Doing really good should grant a special key. I would be interested in playing a game where there was single round elimination tournament, and only the best players could advance all the way through the rounds. However, this would not be fun in Destiny. The reason I say this is because the game is way too fickle. Supers, Rockets, Blink, Shotguns, Snipers, Thorn, The Last Word. Everything is so easy to use that if you didn't have the right class or weapons, or if you were unlucky enough to get hit by a super you would be finished. I think they chose a pretty good route for ToO within what this game actually is. There is some forgiveness, but skill should win out, considering it takes 9 wins and 0 losses to get the best rewards. I still haven't played it yet.

Maybe mix in other PVP modes of play? Clash, Control, etc.

Skill based matchmaking for any team where everyone hasn't gone flawless. For full teams where every member has gone flawless put them in a different que that is connection based. That way lower skilled people are up against the same, and experienced players are given a challenge.
-
Under 3 losses still get lighthouse.
-
4 RepliesOnce you've been flawless that's you done until next week.

3 RepliesI'd keep everything exactly the same as is except have skill based matchmaking. They stated that they matchmake based on connection but my enemy teams always seem to have a worse/no connection compared to my team. I've also had many instances where I'd get matched up with the same enemies twice in a row which was also not supposed to happen. Awesome question

Skill-based matchmaking No exotics allowed (the test of true skill)
