The price for the taken king dlc is £40 and in America it's $40 meaning we are paying $64 instead.
They haven't explained why and they are treating us like idiots.
Luke smith said that foreign currency is foreign to him so he doesn't know so really to bungie we are just being treated as a bunch of foreigners they can exploit by currency exchange which is treating us like plain idiots so please sign this petition

8 RepliesNot signed. If you actually did your research, then you would see that the minimum wage in alot of countries in Europe is about the same as the usa's in pounds. They get payed more, therefore have a higher cost of living and expenses
-
5 RepliesYou talk down to Americans.LITERALLY EVERY POST ON THE 4TH WAS PEOPLE CALLING AMERICANS THIS THAT AND THE OTHER. you will get no sympathy and YOU can go blam! Yourself.
-
1 ReplySigned, although my wallet will do the talking. I'm no buying it.
-
'murrrrrican here and you bet ur Brit ass i signed that petition. With the leak of the paid shills that are on the forums/reddit now, the inability of bungie to address anything meaningful in a timely manner, the lackluster DLCs thus far...... Talk about adding insult to injury. Exchange rate. 2 words sum it up no matter what. UK is being screwed over. Aussies gettin bent over as well. If the exchange rate was skewed in favor of the Dollar i would understand. It's NOT. Hasn't been for quite a while.
-
Cuz the stamp act that's why.
-
Yes!!!

Edited by Doc SoCal: 7/8/2015 6:56:49 PMThey will get whomever they can get to pay the most for whatever they are selling. There is no shame in making money and life is not fair. #HTH

1 ReplyEdited by bakerboy32: 7/6/2015 9:15:19 AMSimply games are currently selling the boxes version of the taken king for £39.85 btw, less than the taken king DLC. Only a 15p saving but the thing I can't understand is that its more than likely just a DLC code with vanilla destiny discs, so why is it cheaper than the DLC?! Kinda proof that the pricing is -blam!-ed up. http://www.simplygames.com/search?keywords=Taken+king

It sucks we get screwed like this. It's not just Bungie/Activision. Loads of other companies do this. Look at the new Apple music service. U.S. $9.99 per month. UK £9.99 per month. Anyway. Go to simplygames.com. They are selling the legendary edition for £39.85! Sell what you don't need to friends and play on.

Yeah. it's rlly ridiculous. Yet they won't explain bc that means admitting that they cater to American players because apparently it's not just us Brits that are being overcharged. VAT is defiantly not the reason or we'd literally be paying way too much on literally every game. (If you reply to this post with "you all shit on us on the 4th", y'all are literal children).
-
6 RepliesThe price differs Because of these 3 reasons: 1) VAT (or lack of thereof). The US has a sales tax of around 9%, and that's a lot less than UK's VAT of 20%. 2) Economics of scale. The US imports –and later sells domestically and to tourists– a LOT more than the UK ever will of any product you might think of. 3) Less operating costs. UK's salaries and employee benefits are simply bigger. Those 28/34 days of UK's statutory leave entitlement have a cost that has to be added to the sticker price. Heck, even Japanese electronics are cheaper in the US than in Japan! I'm from the UK and prices have always been different here to over the pond. The price of living has always been higher here. Time to get your head straight and realise you ain't gonna change a thing by whinging about price difference. Either you buy TTK or you don't the choice is yours, no one is forcing your hand.
-
2 RepliesThe price is higher because IT is over a certain price before tax (18 euros for most countries) and is subject to a few different tariffs and duties on import, the other 20 dollar dlcs came in at £17.95 just under the £18 exemption.
-
4 RepliesIt makes no sense really, euro has more value than usd. Do the math. Non physical products aka virtual product such as DLC pay no importation tax.
-
For everyone blaming taxes and whatnot: The Taken King DLC costs the SAME as a full newly released game. 39.95 for Fallout 4 on the day release includin post and packaging == 40.00 for The Taken King DLC Digital. Thats the problem: 1 dlc == 1 new game.
-
11 RepliesAmericans are uncultured peasants, keep trying to build a culture like ours and catch up with our higher quality of life and stronger GDP. I'll happily pay £40 for TTK and won't even notice it, use my extra $24 to help yourselves balance the wealth differential or most likely spend it on some cheap shitty American made piece of crap.

72 RepliesWe saved your asses in plenty of wars: call this the repayment. #WWII

It's simple. If you are a idiot then buy it.
