You're wrong. Here me out. I have played since release and seen the vast changes and updates from then until now. People in this game call for "nerfing" of weapons like Thorn or shotguns because they are OP. While this is correct, a nerf is not the only solution. I remember the days when SUROS Regime was by far the best crucible weapon and dominated in PvE as well.... It got nerfed 4 times. Now, it's a rare sight to see a SUROS, which is sad because I enjoyed that weapon. So, rather than a nerf to a few weapons, why not call for a buff to the weapons you enjoy using? We are starting to see higher impact auto-rifles from this dlc but lets be honest, they can't compete with the kill speed of a Thorn or TLW. So, let us buff other weapons. I would love to use weapons like the Vanquisher and take out TLW or Thorns more consistently, as now it is a clear disadvantage, when once upon a time they were more a fair fight. Don't get me wrong, I am just as happy to use auto rifles and struggle through a match as a challenge as much as anyone else, but in events like Iron Banner when winning is all that matters, it's silly to use weapons that can't compete. Make more weapons viable, that's all.
Comment away! :D

5 RepliesI remember a time when there was peace, when auto rifles kept Thorn and TLW at bay, when fusion rifles were a good defense against handcannons. I could tell you of the great nerf months ago, how the Suros was crippled. I could tell you of the power of the Mythoclast, its ancient enemy. There are many tales told throughout the crucible to frighten Christmas noobs. Lately, those tales have stopped. Now... the Christmas noobs are frightened anyway. The nerfs are coming back. The last good guns will not survive it this time.

Nerf Patrol Cosmodrone, Randal is 2OP4me

1 ReplyNerfs over buffs. This doesn't need to be a twitch shooter like cod. I like a low TTK overall.
-
1 ReplyI totally understand what you are saying but there is a problem. The time to kill in Crucible is already too fast for top weapons. Buffing everything to be equal would mean no matter what weapon you face, you're dead in about 1.5 seconds after an enemy spots you.
-
I am personally getting so sick and tired of people asking for nerfs. It is literally like almost the whole forum. This game is easy to be honest if I can two man everything they have in pve it's two easy. And I rarely PvP so I think ToO might be hard but no flawless a bunch of times. I wish they had different versions of the game I hate the dumbed down easy stuff that us what will kill this game.

The only weapon balance we need is the auto rifles getting buffed that's about it really.
-
3 RepliesYou people don't get it. Buffing every single weapon in the game would require a hell of a lot of work. If things are under performing you buff them to be on par with the others. If something is overpowered you scale it back to be in line with the rest

1 Replywhy does the Red Death stagger players, have high impact and heal you?

Voted for the buff...but only for auto rifles. I miss my vanquisher...grinded patrol missions on the moon for an entire Saturday for it. Oh the good ol days haha

6 RepliesEdited by SuggestedPigeon: 6/4/2015 11:06:18 PMNote this should all happen at once: piecemealing weapon balance is what caused this mess to begin with. Higher ttk>twitchfest. Balance everything to where ARs are now, Exotics need to be on par with equivalent legendary weapons. You use exotics for the perks, not because they outclass entire weapon classes. Spawn with zero special ammo, increase special drops and tone down OHK player abilities sans supers. Shotgun range on felwinters archetype shotguns should be halved but with overall quicker swap times. If you don't pick up a heavy crate, killing enemies drops a small amount of heavy ammo so you don't get wrecked by 6 rocket launchers over and over if a teammate took it for himself. Fix spawning or remove the 3v3 maps from 6v6 playlists. Put the large maps back in the 6v6 playlists. This gives long range weapons a place to shine as well as less instances of spawning in someone's sightlines/super. And finally ffs use connection based matchmaking for all of pvp or just get dedicated servers so that laggy messes of games are the exception rather than the norm. There I just made pvp 100x better than whatever horrible halo custom game this pvp is trying to be.

never make thorn, a weapon that burns is for no skilled players, my thorn> your thorn
-
Why does LastWord have full auto?
-
3 RepliesIn my opinion: Bring all stats back to pre 1.1.1 except for new vex buffs. Not complaining about thorn but just to shut people up lets bring down DOT perks damage to around 6. Suros needs to be brought back to former glory. Thats all.
-
2 Repliesbuff some, nerf the op af, if you buff every single one, its going to become a call of duty, 1 shot snipers, 2 shot weapons
-
1 ReplyVex shouldnt do more then suros in my opinion. And speaking of suros, auto rifles need buffing. Esspessially in PvE. Im a scout guy myself and even i think theyre underpowerd

3 Replies#bringbackmysuros

4 RepliesI would prefer that no primary weapon (bar remote and no land) could 2 shot someone. My favorite part of destiny is that like halo you have a fighting chance if someone gets the drop on you. I like cod and other games but i prefer games where you actually have a chance to fight back. Fast ttks are rediculous.

3 RepliesHow about separate PvP from PvE? Then there is no need for Buff or Nerf.
-
5 RepliesWhat an embarrassing post and statistic from poll The majority of this community has no shame, no brains, and no skill

1 ReplyTotally agree, as a friend of mine always says: "if everything is OP then nothing is OP"
-
4 RepliesEdited by Strider: 6/5/2015 2:12:40 AMBuffing every weapon that you feel needs to be buffed will eventually lead to short times to kill for every weapon. Let this not be CoD. Bungie created a well balanced shooter in Halo that relied more on skill as opposed to who saw who first. Leave them to the weapon changes. That being said, Destiny is a completely different game and will never be perfectly balanced due to its nature. These changes to weapons are going to keep happening so it's best to follow suit and use the 'OP' guns at any given time
-
8 RepliesThe reason destiny is different from COD is that u can't install kill people with nearly every weapon, making skill levels go down. If it took time to kill then skill would be a factor, buffing everything will not help
