So over the course of this past weekend I was trying to get my raids and weeklys done; however, it became an exhausting experience trying to link up with some people that would except a then, lvl 29. *mind you I took a 3 month break from this game back in november so I'm "behind" as far as gear goes*
It was so crazy to me that these nerds seriously felt they were above me just because they have spent more time on this game than I have. It blew me away because let's be honest, PVE does not require talent in this game. PVE performance in this game is based solely on which guns you have and how much time you dedicate to the grind.
I couldn't possibly care less how many times you have beaten the raid or how many yellow colored squares you have in your vault because all that says to me is that you got lucky through RNG and you managed to overcome a bunch of thoughtless bots.
So am I a PVP elitist? You bet. Am I the best PVP player? Nope, but I'm a very good one.
I have above a 2.0 in every playlist and I play solo, not to mention I'm placed with a full fireteam of idiots every match. I don't have any OP PVP weapons because I have crap RNG luck.
So what I'm getting at is that you PVE elitists aren't anything special. I'm not impressed. Meet me in The crucible because if anything in this game requires a lick of skill it is the crucible/IB. Why? Because you're going head to head with other human beings, you know, other people with minds that can think for themself? Yeah, not some dumbed down bullet sponge of a bot, a human being. So go ahead and act condescending while you're in a fireteam full of nerds because chances are you guys get your asses kicked in PVP matchmaking.
If you're a 32 and there are 30's and 31's looking to do crotas or vault on hard help them out. Are you afraid? Are you not sure of yourself? Exactly.
And remember, I'm not impressed.
Edit: read the title. I'm talking about ELITISTS not every 32.
Edit:yes I have thorn, I got it on 3/29/15 hence why it isn't upgraded AT ALL.

All I took from this was "I suck at playing PvE so avoid me at all costs"

Edited by Nike: 3/31/2015 2:09:33 PMWhy not be great in both like I am? I am a total elitist with talent in both Crucible and the Raid. I'm actually very great at using my Titan and Warlock effectively in PvE and PvP. Once you're great at both, that's when you know you have talent.

Edited by C0UNT DUCKULA: 3/31/2015 6:27:42 AMIn a 32 and would have no problem playing with a lower level. I was that level in the past and aware of that. I also know how frustrating it is trying to find; - a raid that will take you so that you can actually find the gear you need to level up! If you can do the raids you can't level, people won't let you in : it's a vicious circle. I gave up trying to find these groups of decent people when I was a 30/31 so thought sod it, and got IB gear to get to 32. People will say I did the 'cheap 32' route but I don't give a shite. It was a grind to get the ranks and in my eyes still an achievement. Now I'm there I'll try and get my others up and will help people in raids if I can
PVE performance in this game is based solely on which guns you have and how much time you dedicate to the grind.
give a decent to good pvp player a crappy auto rifle and give a decent player a good shotgun or exotic handgun at pvp. i bet that pvp elitist will get rekt. oh the irony
-
Pve doesn't really take skill. And all you need in pvp is an exotic handcannon and a shotgun = instant win. No real challenge there.

Edited by TheUnholyRose: 3/31/2015 6:02:29 AMWhat console? I'll gladly solo Crotas entire raid for you.
-
3 Replies
PVE doesn't take skill
Oh, really? If it takes 'no skill', why don't you solo the entirety of Crotas end.
-
Tl;DR shut up meg. Lol no really I hate the elitist. Stupidest pieces of craps ever
-
Please tell me more about how the shotgunning lag fest of bullshitery where everything is random takes skill but a lvl 33 raid with no respawns or revives is EZ mode. And don't get me wrong, I like helping low levels through the VoG. I took my friend through normal when she was a 26. She didn't do well but al least she paid attention. So "no skill" my ass.
-
Lol. What a sillymun.
-
1 ReplyGo and do normal raids, get the appropriate gear. Then come and talk about doing hard raids(Crota) at 29 and no effort on your part, you don't deserve to be carried through.
-
I... don't think you know what an elitist even is. It's certainly not someone who doesn't wish to carry some random 29, that's for sure.
-
Lol, this guy :,D

5 RepliesYour just mad at those who don't want to help you in the raid and they just so happen to be level 32. I understand that people that are lower level can be more elite then even the highest level, but not everyone is like that. Not all players are good and when a player meets a new player but at a lower level then then their only thought is to concur that the lower level wont understand whats gonna happen and the higher level player doesn't want to take any chances to work with them. its just people who judge others by how they look rather on how they play. you just need to find people that understand your skills and how they can trust you. you just joining someone at random in which they know nothing about you makes the game harder for everyone. I would be glad to help you in any raid in any situation but you need to understand that not everyone wants to work with just anyone.

10 RepliesI've seen plenty of players who know how to play PVP, but cannot fathom PVE fights, as not everything can be beaten with a few hand cannon rounds, or a shotgun to the face, even post patch. And yes, while each individual bot is easier than your average human, you hardly ever fight 1 v 1 in PVE. It takes skill, of a different sort than PVP.
Put in some effort, be nice, and people will be glad to do stuff with you. I gladly invite 29s to raids and strikes, but not if I know one has a chip on his shoulder.
-
What a twat, you cry about pve elitist, call then nerds and then go on to call yourself a pvp elite. It's a different way of playing, both are skilled. I get owned in pvp but you don't see me making posts about pvp elites not helping me.
-
Just to be clear, you, PVP elitist, are what they call "small potatoes."
-
And you sound like a super chill dude.......
-
Look, there's a lot of people trying to raid, and I don't want to waste a lot of time trying to screen for the best teammates. 32 tells me you have at least completed the raid a couple times, and are somewhat familiar with the mechanics. If I just need bodies to fire rockets, a 31 can do nicely with the right tools. Problem is, there is a lower chance of that. That's how you get lumped in. There's no uncontested measure of skill in this game, so we use dumb sh!t to try and find the best chance of picking up a positive player. Same goes for crucible. I've seen .5's rip 3.0's on plenty of occasions when they are caring about a W, and not fulfilling some bounty. So it's just as difficult.

> calls out pve elitists > calls himself a pvp elitists Something else you wanna tell us? Maybe something that won't contradict you're point?
-
im a pretty balanced player in pvp and pve and have lvl 32 gear. i agree that some people are pretty weird when it comes to who has more skill but all it is is shards and luck
-
I totally agree I just got to 32 and it has never crossed my mind to leave someone out of a raid because of their level, especially when I can solo most of the raid anyway
-
I help anyone who needs it on my 32 hunter
-
You admit to being a PvP elitist and complain about PvE ones? An elitist is an elitist no matter what the category. Which means you are no better than the people you complain about. Jog on kid.

1 ReplyIf you've ever done Crota Hard, you'd know that if you mess up once, it's pretty much a wipe. You need to know what to do 24/7. PvE takes a different set of skills. Just because one group bitched at you, doesn't mean another will. Hell, I got carried through VoG and Crota my first time. But I listened, and learned what to do. Now, I can use relic, and sword. Bashing the majority of what players do in this game is childish because of your one bad experience. If you're on 360, I'd gladly take you through VoG or Crota on Tuesday. And no, you don't need a Gjallahorn or a level 32 to join. Just 30 at least :p

1 ReplyYou have a whopping grand total of 4 I repeat 4 raid completions. Hardly one to jump the gun and call out people who have taken the time to grind/learn/earn gear for not carrying you through a raid or two. No one's faulr but your own that you don't have any friends to run with. I wouldn't consider myself an elitist at all either but I would find it hard to justify to four other people why someone who hasn't prepared their character is holding a raid back. Cry all you want about not being blessed in the Rng system but the simple fact is you appear to be a whiny entitled spoiled brat who wants everything handed to them. This is verified by the statements about not getting gear while you have not even ran any of the content to get opportunities for rng to bless you. I'd rather be an elitist than a lazy terd.
