[b]Exotic Weapon Ideas.[/b]
Exotic Weapons are brilliant. The holy grail that everyone in Destiny seeks. This post is dedicated to coming up with ideas for new exotic weapons.
Exotic Weapon classes:

- Force rifle - Fusion cannon
- Plasma smg - Photon rifle
- Raygun - Laser cannon[/i]
These are just some of my class ideas. If you could design an exotic weapon what would it be and what special abilities would it have?
Below is a list of my weapon ideas. I will add to this and update it accordingly. Please feel free to use my ideas and let me know of any improvements that could be implemented.

System 51 is an exotic Raygun. It has unlimited ammo but must recharge after every shot. It's ray over-penetrates targets(unless shielded) that ricochet on surfaces. If an enemy shield is disabled then it explodes, causing elemental damage to surrounding enemies in a 3 meter radius.

Phantom is an exotic Fusion cannon. It must be charged much like a fusion rifle before launching a sphere of energy on an arched trajectory. This creates a vortex upon collision that draws in nearby enemies before exploding and causing void burn.

Buzzkill is an exotic Force rifle. It fires a continuous arc of electricity that forks to enemies around the target. killing enemies reduces the time the players shield initiates it's next charge cycle.

Short Circuit is an exotic Grenade launcher that fires sticky arc grenades that cause more damage when attached to enemies. The fire rate is moderate but it has a long reload as the grenades are loaded individually.

⊙[b]Bilingual;[/b] fires like a fusion rifle when hip fired. Whilst ads the shredder fires a continuous flurry of plasma gel.

Shredder is an exotic plasma smg. It fires a continuous flurry of plasma gel whilst ads but if hip fired it charges and fires a spread like a fusion rifle. If there is insufficient ammo remaining whilst attempting to hip fire Shredder it automatically reloads.

Illuminator is an exotic Railgun. It acts like a sniper rifle. Firing a charged, superheated slug along a rail, it's precision kills cause blindness to enemies around the victim.

Pixelator is an exotic Photon rifle that fires high-velocity beams of subatomic particles. It's unique firing mechanism is capable of firing a single shot in succession much like a scout rifle, these shots require little pressure on the trigger but only initiate as the trigger is released.
The Photon rifle has the ability to increase the damage output of a single shot exponentially but first must charge up. These shots require the trigger to be held down to initiate a charge cycle which stacks photon rounds from the clip into the current shot.
The rifle can fire during any point of the charge cycle by releasing the trigger but it's damage output will be dependant on how many rounds have been stacked. The rifle has a stack limit of 5 rounds which cause 5x the base damage when fired. If the weapon is discharged before the stack limit is reached, for example the weapon is fired with only 3 rounds stacked then the shot will only do 3x the base damage.
Feathering the trigger will shoot rapidly like a scout rifle but every shot will only do base damage. The charge rate is equal to the fire rate, so the time it takes the weapon to stack 5 shots in a charge will be the same as the time it takes to fire 5 individually shots.
Furthermore, the Proton rifle can be charged from the hip before entering ads mode to release the shot. Also if there is only a fraction of ammo left in the mag, say 3 rounds remain then the rifles stack limit will be 3. If the Photon rifle is overcharged it will automatically discharge but does not do so instantly. The time in which the gun reaches the charge limit is the same as if the gun charged to 3 shots higher than the stack limit.

Most of these weapons would have to be nerfed and tweaked or probably restricted to purely PVE but I love all of them.

I don't really agree with anyone saying they're op. The heavy weapons are suppose to be powerful, the Phantom only has 4 rounds and would only do a slight increase on what damage a rocket launcher does presently, you have to charge it up as well. The grenade launcher would probably do half the damage of a rocket launcher and has a slow reload time. As far as illuminator goes for PvP you would have to get a headshot and and enemy would have to be close by and would have the same effect as the flash grenade but not last as long. The only op statement I could agree with is that buzzkill could be op if the shield regeneration was a constant and if the arc chain did really high damage. If my ideas were implemented with the correct balancing there would be no problem. Tell me specifically what you think is op and I'll tell you how it would be implemented so that it wasn't.

Not bad I've actually thought of similar things, although I just had like rail gun or plasma gun and nothing to it. I would like to see a way to make your own exotic, kind of like the way nechrochasm is. By taking a white weapon or green, maybe blue, you can find upgrades to legendary and than to exotic with different upgrade trees so the same weapon won't always be the same. This could truly make a players true exotic as it would be difficult to have the same weapon.

I personally think this is a amazing idea, but as a opinion, some people will think they are OP. They should make a difference rarity for these wepons. Something you can't get from a vendor. Because how rare are exotics right now anyway? With 3 characters you can get them from the nightfall x3, VoG x3, Crota x3, and Xur once a week with the 27 strange coins you've accumulated through the x3 weeklies.

Yeah they need to reduce the places you can get exotics, vog is x6 and so is crota. You get one from gorgons chest and then atheon has the chance to drop one. Same goes for TDB, the death singer and crota both drop exotics. With HOW coming that'll probably be 6 more lol. Exotics galore.

How about an energy gun with a shotgun styled cone of damage, but instead of effective damage it has a complete knock back (ignores heroic modifier) the spread and range would have to be pretty massive, but this could be a great support weapon in any situation with clustered enemies. Primarily for team efforts or knocking enemies off of high ledges. Special weapon 6 second Charged ammo 3 shot magazine 3 shot reserve 3 second fire rate kinetic damage. Draws in background atmospheric energy and releases it in an initial burst to stun enemies for a short time.

Interesting idea. Abuse alarm bells start ringing though when you can push enemies around. They struggle enough to fix glitches in the game. Can you imagine the amount of glitches a gun like that would make available? As far as fun goes though that would be very entertaining to use :) I wish they would make more energy based weapons. Maybe their new weapon classes will be energy based. Fingers crossed.

Sure hope so. And the knock back is wishful thinking. Realistically I would hope for a full stagger effect. Imagine a huge group of thralls running after your team. You shoot them with this weapon and the next person launches a grenade in between them. I don't see the gun working in PvP though... They need to sperate weapons from PvP and pve...would make balancing much easier for them.
