24 AntwortenA boycott would only be possible if the hardcore Destiny fanatics/fanboys (Freemium Addicts) were all locked up for the duration of the boycott. It's morally reprehensible to target a select group of individuals who have an addictive personality or penchant through game mechanics, promising them more loot the longer they play to inflate play time figures for sales purposes. That's what freemium games do and Destiny certainly is a freemium game, albeit on a console platform, masquerading as a AAA title. Xur is not random, the RNG in game is not truly random. It is a calculated system to keep you in game, searching for the last exotics/armor pieces you need. The closer you get to completion, the longer it takes. Now you can disregard everything I just said and believe Bungie's side of the story. Just ask yourself: When has Bungie been truthful about Destiny? From the over hyped letdown of launch, to the cut-content debacle, all the way back to nerfing pvp weapons instead of vault space. DO they TRULY have the players BEST INTEREST at heart? Or do they care more about the $$$? You decide. Im done until HoW, cuz I bought into the hype and pre-ordered. Live&Learn I suppose.

2 Antworten.. But why?

I'd be an idiot to say it's fine the way it is but I will still keep playing and enjoy the updates when we get them.

1 AntwortenWhere's the option for, "shut up dude you are not accomplishing anything only fanning the flames of an already toxic community?"

Bearbeitet von Orpheus: 2/9/2015 8:02:50 PMYeah I completely agree, the only reason they're not in a rush is because there's still 2 million logging in EVERYDAY. Hell, they brag about it, too. If they start losing players and REALIZE that they need to fix the problems with this game, they might actually start rolling out updates quicker instead of dicking around. Five hundred people working on Destiny and there has not been a single game changing update that has rolled out. We don't have to boycott though, once a better game comes out and takes Destiny's place as most addictive game on console then it'll be too late for them. Don't get me wrong, I love Destiny and play like everyday, and this game has so much potential, they just need to change a few things and Destiny will be fine.

Bungie knows it's problems

1 AntwortenLol another "boycott". Just quit playing if you want to be "effective". Quit the internet forum fantasy civil rights movement.

2 AntwortenWhere the hell is the burritos pick? Or maybe chimichangas? What about good ol pizza? This poll is fixed.

I boycott Destiny all the time. When I'm at work. When I'm sleeping. When I'm driving. I'm all for it. Except for when I'm playing then I am not boycotting them. I'm partially boycotting them Does that count?
-
1 AntwortenIt won't work. Out of everyone who says they're quitting destiny, etc. Its fun to go on smartglass and see if they're online, and 80% of the time they're online, playing destiny.

To anyone who thinks we should boycott the game... I have a list of a bazillion things that are more important to protest then any videogame ever. Real life issues vs. Entertainment... No question. There's a better place for your idealism.

Mhm interesting... I like destiny. :p I met a dude from class and we started talking about it and he said it in a good way He said, "I have spend too many hours on destiny." I said, "So you like it then?" He laughed, shook his head and said, "I shouldn't" And I totally agree. I'll play Destiny cause I enjoy it. But we all know that Bungie dropped the ball. Bungie had an amazing thing with Halo and the fans expected a similar feel. The depth is lacking. Bungie was incredible at making you fall in love with the characters and get immersed in the game and the emotions that the story conveyed. Destiny is a mindless emotionless grind. I enjoy a good grinder, Destiny is seriously on point with the top couple of games that I could grind out with a couple good buddies. We shouldn't like Destiny but we do. Bungie hooked it's audience in a way that was unexpected for Bungie's style. They took their game developing in a different direction. They succeeded but at the cost of their reputation. I love Destiny, but I shouldn't.

I'm not boycotting Destiny. That seems dumb to me. I am, however, spending a lot more time playing another game. Xur has proven virtually useless to me over the last couple of months. He did have that one great week with the icebreaker but other than that I've struggled to find anything to buy from him. I'm spending most of my glimmer on upgrades and ammo syn but I'm just tired of farming glimmer. Quite frankly that is boring. So I've decided to focus my time on a game that does a better job of rewarding my effort and just play Destiny when the reward level can be maximized (ie Nightfalls, weeklys and raids). Whenever Destiny gets around to finding a way to be more entertaining then perhaps it can have the bulk of my time again but in the meantime, I'm going to continue having my fun with Destiny being only a minor contributor.
