To all the "high and mighty" 32's
Let me first say I know that there are plenty of 32s out there that are genuinely kind and helpful to the not so experienced guardians. I personally have a few to thank for making me the raider I am today. That being said...
I was doing a vog run on hard and made it to the oracles when one of our teammates had to leave. A few short minutes later a level 32 joins us. AWESOME! RIGHT...?
Nope. He proceeded to assume direct command before even beginning the encounter. Up until we lost someone were having a pretty smooth run with a clean strategy. Not only did he take over the play calling he started criticizing us saying he was the only one doing anything.
It doesn't end there.
After a measly TWO wipes, he proceeds to say he didn't feel like doing the oracles, oh, and he didn't want to do the Templar either. So he decided to leave, but not before asking us to reinvite him if we got past those parts. (He emphasized the if)
The original team consisted of one 29 and the rest were 31s. We weren't asking him to carry us, merely just carry the weight of a typical 6th teammate.
Moral of my story; just cause you're one level higher than most people doesn't automatically make you the raid master/play caller. Work with your team, find out they're strengths and choose a strategy that works for everyone. If you are as good as you claim you are, you shouldn't have a problem with adjusting.
Most of us take orders all day at work, we don't want to deal with it on our gaming time as well.
Edit: I don't know if people are forgetting my opening paragraph appraising all the genuine 32s, I just want everyone to know that I'm well aware that the amount of 32s that act like this are few and far in between and that there are even some lower level players with this attitude. Bottom line, no one should act like this. Interact with your team and have fun
Edit 2: to those of you crying n00b! Because we wiped at the oracles, I understand why you would think that but let me elaborate. Neither of those wipes were legit attempts to pass the phase. They were spent looking for a cubby hole(not the one with the spirit bloom chest) that one person could hide in and take out the back oracles. He didn't know where it was, only said that someone he played with used it one time. This pretty much confirmed to me that he was a level 32 due to piggybacking.

I know what you mean, I've played with people like that, I have a lvl 32 and if I'm honest I'd much rather follow other people than lead the team, unless no one else knows what to do of course.
-
I'm 32 on all my characters and I have to agree 2 many of us choose not to help newbies. Honestly I have no problem with it. When I'm fine with my raids and stuff I always go to the tower to seek out those who could use my help weather they advice or just to fill their firearm. U shouldn't have players doing that to u it's wrong.
-
Yeah that's right this game is a team gsm you need to work together...
-
Sounds like a prick more than anything; maybe he didn't get enough attention as a child
-
-
It's not their rank, these people are douche bags at level 9.
-
-
This is -blam!-ing perfect i run groups that i meet in tower through raids all the time
-
I have 2 32's and I will gladly learn from someone else's ways or teach some one who wants to know my ways. Don't get pushy with it because that takes the fun out of the game.
-
Some 32's are dicks that think they know everything, but then again, so are some 31's. Some 32's are good at leading a raid, and so are some 31's. The problem is that the most experienced person assumes he should be the one calling the shots, but it takes more than experience to lead.

Xbone or ps4?

You should get to 32 cause the way I see it statistically, not talking about skill, he has more potential than you and he took the time and the tedious process to become lvl 32 he might not be the best leader he can take more and put out more when it comes down to it (not saying he will or did) he has more to offer someone and you never mentioned how well you did in those wipes... I have joined raid teams that have been high levels but have no idea how to play this game. When it comes down to it when you are the highest level you have earned your right to say that. However he should not have said to invite him if you got there, that is dumb and stupid. If he wants to leave to find a good group there should be nothing wrong with that though.

Also this game doesn't scale your damage up, only down. Meaning if you're level 29 fighting a 30, you do 30% less damage 28 fighting 30 you do 40% less 27 fighting 30 is 50% less Beyond that you do 100% less, or 0 damage On the other hand level 31 vs a 30 does 0% extra damage A 32 vs a 30 does 0% extra damage

Bearbeitet von DOTF Reaper: 1/28/2015 6:12:08 PMActually since you are going to be statistical about this... There is a number under where it says defense on your gear/weapons screen soo you are wrong. You may not take less damage but you have more defense and you can absorb more before death sooo
-
Lol go try and test it then. Your level 20 is going to get killed in the same amount of attacks from a thrall as your lvl 30
-
Nothing earned. Raid gear is RNG. That makes a good part of being 32 luck. My hunter and warlock can attest to that.
-
Yea but doing the hard raid/normal raid pretty hard raid 3 times a week you'll get the gear. You got to be good enough to get it done every week multiple times.
-
My Titan got a full Raid set in the first two normal runs. My Hunter and Warlock get boots and gloves over and over. I have (had) more Light of the Abyss than anyone needs. At 850+ hours I can also whine about not having a yolohorn, but I'd much prefer Hunger of Crota. I'll agree that persistence is the key, but with no guarantees, you are left squarely in the hands of lady luck.

There's exceptions stop being a fggaot

Said like a truly high-and-mighty douchebag.

Bearbeitet von Xenomorph: 1/28/2015 5:40:28 AMI acknowledge you said not all level 32's are like that... But the thing is... You then go on to generalise that being a higher level somehow makes you the only type of person who would be likely to come in and start trying to take over. So which is it? Why not just say "some douchebag" did X/Y/Z? Their level most likely has nothing to do with it, just the fact that they are a giant bell end. Huh?
-
I really only generalized 32s as they're the only ones I've had this problem with.
-
Try having it with lower levels lol. It's kinda funny when that happens xD no but I agree with the 32 statement.i am 32 but I do not try to derail the raid. I hold my own but watching others it seems like higher level comes with entitlement. Makes you head all hot. Gets kinda annoying. All you say is if I felt like grind 3 characters all day on the Crota raid is be lvl 32 too. But sadly I have a love. Lawl I have 3 Titans xD only play one tho no need for te other 2 now...
-
I'm guessing that you've just been unlucky man... I've personally not experienced that, even before I got to 32. I'm most definitely not like that...
-
It's not I problem I've encountered much at all, but it's really something that no one should have to deal with. I respect you for being one of the good ones
