Let me first say I know that there are plenty of 32s out there that are genuinely kind and helpful to the not so experienced guardians. I personally have a few to thank for making me the raider I am today. That being said...
I was doing a vog run on hard and made it to the oracles when one of our teammates had to leave. A few short minutes later a level 32 joins us. AWESOME! RIGHT...?
Nope. He proceeded to assume direct command before even beginning the encounter. Up until we lost someone were having a pretty smooth run with a clean strategy. Not only did he take over the play calling he started criticizing us saying he was the only one doing anything.
It doesn't end there.
After a measly TWO wipes, he proceeds to say he didn't feel like doing the oracles, oh, and he didn't want to do the Templar either. So he decided to leave, but not before asking us to reinvite him if we got past those parts. (He emphasized the if)
The original team consisted of one 29 and the rest were 31s. We weren't asking him to carry us, merely just carry the weight of a typical 6th teammate.
Moral of my story; just cause you're one level higher than most people doesn't automatically make you the raid master/play caller. Work with your team, find out they're strengths and choose a strategy that works for everyone. If you are as good as you claim you are, you shouldn't have a problem with adjusting.
Most of us take orders all day at work, we don't want to deal with it on our gaming time as well.
Edit: I don't know if people are forgetting my opening paragraph appraising all the genuine 32s, I just want everyone to know that I'm well aware that the amount of 32s that act like this are few and far in between and that there are even some lower level players with this attitude. Bottom line, no one should act like this. Interact with your team and have fun
Edit 2: to those of you crying n00b! Because we wiped at the oracles, I understand why you would think that but let me elaborate. Neither of those wipes were legit attempts to pass the phase. They were spent looking for a cubby hole(not the one with the spirit bloom chest) that one person could hide in and take out the back oracles. He didn't know where it was, only said that someone he played with used it one time. This pretty much confirmed to me that he was a level 32 due to piggybacking.

Was on my third and he's only lvl 30 doing Normal crota with 2 friends, need 3 more so we got a 2nd group of 3 and made a raid party. These guys.....Idiots to say the least...I mean we managed to beat the raid but only with perseverance and luck. 6 man fireteam with 31s and 32 and I'm the only 30. They leave me alone on left totem to defend and I had no problem trying but if I did and I am solo I don't need you piping up and when you don't even know how to construct a bridge and hold it open. These guys"knew" it all and we took forever on Normal. My friend was telling them we 3 manned the whole thing only reason your here is to make it faster. We asked if they wanted to do hard mode or vog hard when we were done. Thankfully they declined and we said thank god cuz I couldn't spend any more with you -blam!-ing morons. these guys were arguing everything the whole way with their way the only right way, people like that are f a. G s and need to be called out as such.

I ran crota last night on normal. I know how to beat him with various strategies. I'm also a level 32. That being said I went into Crotas end last night with 3 level 30's( all of which haven't played in months and jus recently returned to the game) and two level 31's. The first few parts of crota are pretty boring and anyone who's even remotely decent at the game can figure everything out themselves except for probably the death singer. I let the level 31's take the reigns on everything except for crota. Once we got to crota I told one of the level 30's the basic strategies you can use to beat crota and I gave him full command of the fireteam and he directed traffic from then on. After about ehhh...3 wipes we downed crota. Everyone got a good learning experience out of it and had a great time and the even pulled some pretty sweet items for it being some of their first times doing the new raid. Basically the point of this is that if you have team work and people willing to listen it doesn't matter what level you are or how many times you've done the raid, it's not hard as long as you have a sound cohesive group working with you. Granted all the guys I did that raid with I play with all the time and they were basically vog masters(who helped me a lot) that put the game down for a while, so I was simply returning the favor. I know how this goes though. Had there never been a cheese for crota then there wouldn't be a whole bunch of level 32's that suck ass or can't carry their weight but last night with 3 30's in my team with not one piece of upgraded gear or weapons we finished Crotas end from start to finish in a little under an hour. Like I use to say when I was in the military "I'll take experience and knowledge over rank any day of the week".

It's like they go drunk with power and then they don't learn anything from that and proceed to be a asshole again and again. But at least there are some level 32s that aren't control freaks.

I'm a 32 on all three characters, but I help the players under 29 through stories, 28s through nightfall etc.

I play for fun first and have no problem joining in on anyone's game. I think this is all the more reason to have matchmaking and include search settings that include level and well as something that for "serious players only" or "just for fun... but to win!"

But from his point, maybe you guys said something that made him believe he was the one to organize you guys. I've had utterly horrible groups of people invite me in that acted like they didn't know wtf was going on, running all over the place as if it was just another strike. At that point I generally take command like that guy did. Sometimes the groups take it, most of the time they don't because most people don't take raids seriously. I'm not saying this was your case because he was clearly in the wrong by what you wrote. But consider for a moment that if your team had any of these traits, are you sure you aren't blowing it out of proportion? I've had teams bad talk me afterwards and made excuses to how I was in the wrong as they were perfect little angels doing the very best they can... The moral of my story and this goes out to all the Lil kid groups that play like this, is that if your team NEEDS the help, state it right off the bat, but if you are just filling the spot start off by saying so. If they give you lip through the entire raid, ever going against your parties strategies without trying to have a peaceful and logical debate to how a strategy is more efficient, threaten them with the kick button. Or just kick them and pick up a random on the forum. Not saying you are one or the other, just pointing out that sometimes, groups don't always relay the information that should be brought up in the first place and you should have asserted your command when he tried to step up. I leave groups within 5 min if they are disorganized and unwilling to cooperate to make it a quick and easy run, so I figure the guy was in the wrong since he was obviously there because he needed to be, not to help you out

Here's the situation we were in exactly: We had just given the oracles one try and wiped at about the 3rd or 4th wave. He joins in before we even start our second attempt and starts saying that we all need to stay on the spawning ledge and have one person jump down to take care of the oracles that spawn in the back. I've used this strategy once before and I have to say it is NOT fun, It is NOT rewarding, and leaves absolutely NO room for error when taking out the oracles. I would've liked to have given it a few more try's with all of us in the arena. I think most of the team picked up on his mentality after the first wipe cause a couple of guys went idle up on the ledge and then quit out.

This is my favorite "MUST be 32 and MUST have fully upgraded Gjallarhorn" lol destiny is supposed to be a huge community of guardians who are willing to help others, not be bias because of RNG (no you didn't "earned it"). I have three 32s and damn good at the sword on Crota. Message me if anyone ever needs help with any raids on XB1.

Agreed....however, the ghorn makes it leaps and bounds easier to bring him to his knees. Sometimes people jus want quick efficient runs, I don't think their being biased or mean about it but I do agree with you on simply trying to get specific players of a specific class with a specific gun is retarded. Lol good luck finding that in a timely manner.

If I'm the leader in laugh at the little bitch and tell him we don't need him and just give him the boot. Funny thing about pugging? There are THOUSANDS of other players to get to help. Personally idc if ur a 32 or a 28 or whatever, if u want to have fun we join up n play. Don't have a mic, that's ok no worries. If you join n are acting like the best player to drop since Koby's charges.......we kick you. After all its just a game and we all just want to have fun :-)

Yeah im a 32 but i work with lower lvls bcuz i know how hard it can b when ur at thoses lvls to get ahead. But people spam 32's and expect us to be Gods or something in a game and carry them through basic shyt . Like really bro ....

Here's my issue any 32 that can't direct how to beat the Oracle's or templar first try most likely exploited to get there. It's bad because only 1/4 of the 32 players have any clue how to even play there character let alone give direction. It's why I'm extreamly picky on my fireteams.

32 kids kick me on Crota for not being a high enough level because I don't have the raid hear you get for BEATING CROTA, then I get replaced by a 31 with full raid gear that dismantles the only piece I need...
