Destiny has zero capability for a competitive scene
There is way too much imbalance and poor game design (including powers, armor/weapon perks, and level design) for Destiny to even consider that multiplayer is a half-decent idea to have in this game.
And that's really saying something because you can make a competitive scene around almost anything, even checkers. However, Destiny is a joke. The only way you're actually good at Destiny in multiplayer is if you were lucky enough to get a raid group and even more lucky to get a good drop, on top of being lucky enough to find the right materials to max the weapon out. Or you can use almost any fusion rifle. See, in a game where you have other options, it's really bad form to make only one option viable and to negate pretty much all other forms.

Completely agree. Don't forget how often they "balance" weapons. Nobody is going to spend the time going over strategies and training when you can wake up the next day to a completely new set of rules.

I've went in with complete starting gear and weapons and still destroyed everything.

I think of it like smash bros with random characters and items on high.

It doesn't just require good weapons. You can go into a random group using a NLB and a starter rifle and wreck if you're good enough. Some people are good at PvP. Others not so much. Some are good with every weapon. Others aren't.

3 AntwortenThe imbalance comes from the RNG. Because luck plays such a huge factor in what happens from week to week, it's pretty much guaranteed to leave some people lacking a competitive advantage. This is what I would like to see changed.

1 AntwortenBlizzard had the plan to make WoW super competitive and ultra e-sport. Now WoW PvP sucks, because its lame and boring. WoW had unique classes, every class had unique abilities, now every class is the same and every ability is copy and paste!

1 AntwortenIt's a lag fest and it gets old fast. I find it amusing when people take it and their "stats" seriously. How do you have so many stories of people meleeing and/or shooting some guys back 16 times only to have him turn around and hit you once and your dead, then you get credit for killing him as a post-mortem? That's not lag--we literally need a new word for how slow and poor that is. Thank you BS peer to peer and not having dedicated servers because the gazillion dollars bungie made off this isn't enough to implement them.... Haven't you seen the videos of the guy running around with unlimited nova bomb because he hacked it? Yeah, he was banned, but how do you know others aren't doing the same thing and haven't been caught? And this is just the tip of the iceberg with the problems this game has....glad my ps3 and all it's games will be traded, including destiny, in a few weeks when I get my ps4. Hopefully I get to come back to a complete destiny in 2016 and buy the full game with all DLC for 20 bucks...

Checkers is inherently competitive since its equal footing and requires concentration and strategy

Only time I enter that mess is when I need to do an exotic bounty.

So if you can be good with any fusion rifle, why are you terrible? Also raid weapons besides the vex are generally considered to be just average pvp weapons. The best pvp weapons now are available to all via xur, bounties or just good ole RNG. People complain about all the classes pretty equally so I'd say they're pretty balanced.
