Pretty obvious its just strategy, getting out of range of the Boomers and Crota. Bungie will patch it anyways,
*Fixed a glitch where Guardians could stand on the outside of the barrier and not get shot by enemies.

75 AntwortenBearbeitet von YahyaTV: 1/26/2015 3:00:26 PMThe middle platform is a cheese. Cheesing is basically exploitation of game mechanics to minimize your risk, by utilising the middle platform you are essentially immune to all adds, therefore it is a cheese. As to whether it deserves to be patched is difficult, because it certainly is not the easiest cheese to execute, and there are still other risks (Crota rotating, Ogres etc). EDIT1- To note, I use middle platform, but still consider a cheese EDIT2 - Seems many do not actually understand what cheesing is: Cheesing is beating a boss by exploiting the AI in a way that was overlooked by the developers. If you seriously think Bungie put a series of Boomers for you to stagger them from a position they cannot even take a shot at you, you're dumb. Cheesing is still a legitimate strategy, however you are exploiting game mechanics to your advantage and it is considered "cheap tactics". Cheesing is an acceptable strategy, cheating is not.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von xKnottzx: 1/26/2015 2:28:26 PMPicking a sword carrier is obviously cheesing. Bungie obviously wants everyone to have a chance at doing it but every group always picks 1 person to do it. Bungie should patch it so the sword automatically goes to a random team member upon the swordknights death and make it so that the member cant drop it Edit: using phone, edited spelling

1 AntwortenWhat about the sword disappearing? That is the greatest cheese of them all.
-
Cheesing is manipulating the game in a way that forces it to do something not intended by the developers. Unplugging internet during kneeling was a cheese...i will even give despawing enemies on bridge up to cheese...but standing out of range well within the playfield is not cheesing. Those that do say it is go take the entire fireteam to crotas face because according to you this is the only way to not cheese him.
-
Bearbeitet von PHOPANDA: 1/26/2015 7:05:20 PMYeah. Why would they patch that? It's a legit strategy...what are we going to do...go in front of Crota and get 1-shot? Also, fix the damn glitches! Why can Thralls on the other side of the barrier attack us? That makes no sense....
-
Not a cheese. It takes advantage of positioning. The fight mechanics are still used, and the everything is killed like it needs to be. Bungie never said that the fight should be completed on the left side, that's just the player's assumption.
-
It's not a cheese. If it were a cheese, any group of idiots could do it 95% of the time. Many teams still can't beat HM without a lot of wipes - and lots still can't get it done at all. (even without disappearing swords and other glitches). It's just a different strategy. It still requires team tactics, everyone doing their part, being in the right place at the right time, etc.
-
Then standing on the pillars in VoG is a cheese. You know, because the supplicants can't get you. So is standing on the rock when forming the first bridge in CE. You know, since the thralls can't get you. Oh, and also jumping on the rocks to avoid gorgons in hm, the buggers have no chance!
-
It's a strategy. Your not exploiting any in game mechanics or AI. Its like saying the two guardians standing in the back left taking out boomers are cheesing it since they are out if the boomers range.
-
No way would bungie patch it. It's just an alternate tactic.
-
1 AntwortenThem idiots are gonna patch it and say that they intended for us to stand right in front of crota the entire time and not use cover. Since when did strategy in a shooter become cheating. Using cover is a strategy, staying out of range of the bad guys is also a strategy. Bungie needs to fix the glitches that affect the players first. Crota chased me all the way back to the crystal room. Was this intended? Why did he hit me with his sword while he was clearly down. Was this intended? Why does the sword disappear after I kill the sword bearer? Was this intended? Oops, you can solo the whole raid to crota, we did not intend for this to happen. Do it this way now.
-
Crota can still kill you so how would it be?
-
1 AntwortenIt's strategy. A 'cheese' is literally playing the game in a way that was never so intended. Abusing an AI code, knowing it moves away from DoT grenades, then using said mechanic to deliberately push them off a cliff. Whereas the Crota fight doesn't give any indication you should stand anywhere specifically, if anything you could cheese it by climbing on top of the tower on Crota's right hand side, essentially never taking damage, out of range of all enemies, able to see and kill all enemies. Would only need one guy at the bottom for sword use. People claiming it's a cheese are probably the same people who use the "left side" method, thus reducing that amount of people able to complete the raid, why? Perhaps for maintaining rarity of weapons? I don't know, If someone was the only guy in the world with a necrochasm, I would care just as much as I do now, zero.
-
I agree... Snipers stay out of range to avoid risk.... Why isn't that considered cheese then?
-
I can't see how it is cheesing. Everyone still has to be perfectly precise with everything they do plus the run still takes between 5-8 minutes depending on how many sword runs you do.
-
8 Antworten02/10/2015 Patch Notes - Exiting the upper room in Crota's End, Crota encounter, will cause two Hallowed Wizards to spawn and fly through the glass doors facing the crystal. - Standing more than 5 seconds on the top entrance in Vault of Glass's Templar and Oracles encounters automatically spawn Three Hallowed Minotaurs.
-
Totally agree it is a strategy plus you still have to keep boomers off of sword bearer and the team takes a beating when you go back in the room. Plus the ogre fight while not that bad still exposes you also. If you never had to expose yourself to damage then I would call it a cheese. This is not
-
I have mixed feelings about it. But it feels awfully cheesy so I am not using it haha. But I also don't view it as a cheat if people are using it. Hard to think they missed that in testing so maybe it is there as a legit strategy.
-
I see it as similar to Atheon. The entire point of standing on pillars and in the middle is to avoid the supplicants.
-
Think about one of the perks you get on the new auto rifle. Stun Wizards. Im thinking Bungie's logic is to kill boomers and wizard spawn with one or 2 team members while the rest kill the sword breaker and stun Crota with Gallahorns. I have also sat in the main room waiting for Crota to go back to center, watching boomers hit the glass shield. Pretty sure its not a range issue. I feel that the boomers missing the center platform may be a programming error and is outside of Bungie's intent for this encounter.
-
1 AntwortenIt is definitely not a cheese spot. It is just standing in a spot where you can hit the enemy and the enemy can't hit you. Tell me what soldier in the history of the planet doesn't wan that in any battle. It is within the bounds of the game map and the game rules.
-
Using the elements that bungie gave us to play this game is not a cheese. Using and exploiting glitches to do things are cheesing. Plain and simple... the fact that so many people care and whine about how others play in a game is stupid.
-
If don't want it patched stop talking about it. The more buzz it gets the more likely a patch will happen. That said there are only 2 ways I see to patch it 1: extended the barrier, which would be unpleasing to the eyes as the barrier fits in the door way 2: extended the range of boomer shots. Nobody wants this. You do realize this type of fix would probably be across the board right, so all boomers would have their range extended.
-
People call anything a cheese that isn't just running straight up to the boss and punch him in the face. That's just a strategy, no exploits or gltiching going on
-
The middle platform can still be hit by thrall from behind
-
4 AntwortenPeople who say that this strategy is "cheese" are more than likely unable to accomplish the "cheese" Only 9% of the destiny population has actually completed the hard raid so far. If this was an actual cheese, that number would be way higher by now.
