I have nothing better to do but kill your guardian and your KD until it sends you to orbit.
Enjoyed every second of this, more so than doing the actual strike. "YOU COULD'VE RAN X AMOUNT OF TIMES THROUGH STRIKES AND HURR YOU NEED TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ARE WORSE THAN SATAN BECAUSE YADDA YADDA YADDA" Bruh, 919 strikes so far on my Titan alone. I'm good. Believe me. I'm set for vanguard marks and all that. Chill.
Edit 1: Holy crap, 14 likes? THIS WAS POSTED FOR FUN.
Edit 2: So... I'm guessing the Destiny community agrees with me? 27 likes so far.
Edit 3: I love the irony of all the people coming to the thread to tell me no one cares. Are you guys serious? lol
Edit 4 (THE BIG ONE):
He wasn't afk for a few minutes-
This guy was away long enough for us to push him to Hellmouth and drop him into the hole over 60 times. When he finally left, he was alive and had not produced a ghost. Either he shut off his console, went to dashboard, or the game returned him to orbit for being away.
He had/has a history of AFKing in games-
We looked on Destiny Database, looked at his recent games, and saw an obvious pattern. 15 of the past 25 games this player got 0-4 kills, several of the strikes were incomplete, and all were started with full fireteams.
The 'other guy' who was carrying us is my girlfriend, we were in a party together-
Yeah, again, assumptions make an ass out of some of you. She helped push him over, helped kill him all those times, and helped res him. We had a hell of a time laughing and making fun of the guy the WHOLE TIME. This was fun. Maybe even a bit of a bonding experience for us.
Killing him over and over was far more fun than actually running the strike-
We laughed, joked, and even put on Alpha Lupi to res him faster. We had some random there trying to help us and invited him to the party to talk. If the time is what has you bothered, it was late in the week. Vanguard mark were maxed, Sneezes had already gotten like 6 exotics from the Raids and from Nightfall. We were just playing to play.
"No one cares"-
Since apparently its a cardinal sin for me to mention the likes, lets say this: it was trending, tons of people commented, plenty of them seemed to care (either enough to complain or enough to say "JOB WELL DONE"). You are simply wrong.
Afk? AFK?! HOW DARE YOU, I HAVE NO KEYBOARD-
Well its really used as a general term. You're splitting hairs and have missed the point. Not sure what else to tell you.
BUT I AFK ALL THE TIME LIFE HAPPENS-
If you afk for a full strike, you are part of the problem. Yes, I understand, sometimes the dog needs to go out. Yes, I know, kids get into trouble. If you are away for a few minutes, no biggy. Come back, lets play, good luck. But if you can't sit down and play for like 8 minutes to finish a strike without being interrupted, maybe stop trying to play something that forces multiplayer. Or you know, don't have a kid you aren't ready for. http://images.wikia.com/mungyodance/images/3/39/1354237059761.jpg
We didn't use sparrows to kill him.
I will never ever carry an afker through a strike. No, its not hard to run. No, I will not let someone get a reward for not playing the game.
EDIT 5:
Quitters Never Win
While finessing a boss encounter is all well and good, you won’t appreciate the difference unless you actively participate in the Strike. That might make all the sense in the world to you, but there are players in our world who prefer to hang out in the rear with the gear and let their Fireteam brave all the danger.
Once again, John Hopson is on the case. User Research, after all, is all about the science of improving the player experience.
JH: In Destiny’s community, the efforts of a dedicated player can have a huge impact on the experience of hundreds or thousands of other players. Most of the time, this is awesome. When someone is willing to put in the time as a Raid sherpa, a clan leader, or a forum moderator, we all benefit and Destiny comes a little bit closer to its potential as a shared world.
Unfortunately, there are a few individuals who have put in that same level of monomaniacal effort into being jerks. Sitting idle in Strikes and PvP has been on our radar for a while now, but it’s become clear that a small number of the worst idlers are responsible for damaging the experiences of thousands of other players. One player not contributing in an activity might seem like a small thing, but it can make a Weekly Heroic Strike unbeatable or make a Crucible match unwinnable. Those little bits of damage to the experiences other players adds up over time.
This week, we’ve restricted a small number of the most toxic players from matchmaking. The restrictions we’re putting on their accounts are temporary and apply only to the activities where they were chronically idle. If the affected players keep up this behavior after the restrictions lapse, we will apply stronger and (eventually) permanent restrictions on their accounts.
How this policy applies to you:
1) It probably doesn’t. Do not panic just because you had to put down the controller in a Strike last week when the pizza guy showed up just as your fireteam reached Valus Ta'aurc. There is no way you will accidentally be flagged under this policy unless you are a truly dedicated idler, someone who has really gone out their way to repeatedly cheat their teammates.
2) Please be sure to use the reporting system to let us know how your teammates are affecting your Destiny experience, both positively and negatively. We will never act on player reports alone, but we use those reports to find areas and individuals where our automated detection systems aren’t working correctly. They are an invaluable part of how we tune the live experience of our game.
Bungie posted this, here: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=12738 Pretty sure that means we win. Go ahead, go afk.

I dont know whats more impressive. The dedication doing 900 strikes or this lol.
-
Pretty sure they time out after a while tho
-
Yea so sick of this shit

2 AntwortenHonestly they need to add a system where if the person doesn't Atleast put a minimum amount of dmg. Into the boss they don't get the reward at the end. Or something like I've seen in other games.
-
3 AntwortenI thought you got sent back to orbit if you'd afk for a certain amount of minutes?
-
1 AntwortenUnless the Dev team comes out with a way to kick inactive players, there is really only one way to fix "afc" players. Main reason for the afc players (besides had to step away for a just a min to take care of something) is that the other players in the fire team will complete the strike for them, giving them the rewards, a few hours later they come back and boom engrams for days and other rewards. Yes strikes are easy to solo, yes you can beat them with two players, but that's not the point. Only way to get rid of the afc players out there is for this engram farming system to not work anymore. Only thing we can do is after you start a strike and realize you have an afc player....you return to orbit and hopefully the other player will as well, as well as every player that comes after that, then when afc comes back to see how many new rewards he/she has and it's a nice big goose egg, maybe just maybe they will start to participate, or not play anymore, whatever, but I'm not going to do the strike with someone just sitting there and watch them get rewards, play the game however you want, and I'm gonna play it how I want. See you all in the strike playlist.

I can understand it to a certain extent, sometimes you just gotta hit the peace pipe. I don't consider 30 seconds to a minute AFK. Alot of times I'll wait for people if I can help it, but I pride myself on team revival. So if you are gonna bail at least hide or sit your guardian down or something. I hate when I revive a guy twice and almost die before I realize he's just standing there getting shot, it makes me face palm. It's a matter of courtesy. I mean I get it life happens and you can't pause this game. I have three German Shepherd puppies and when they're pissing on your real hardwood floor your virtual life gets a major hard-check. I can only imagine the agonizing brain drill of a crying infant. This sort of thing happens to us all. So all I can really do is humbly ask that you don't start a strike unless you're at least fairly certain you have the next thirty minutes to dedicate to our potential team. Now let's get out there and kill something.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Helio Skitzer: 1/20/2015 12:29:57 PMI did something similar to a friend. He went afk so I took us to the cosmodrome and proceeded to solar wind him off the edge a couple times after which his respawn orb got stuck on a tiny ledge over the edge. So I spent the next 10 minutes reviving him so that he would immediately fall to his death. At least 10 straight minutes of this, laughing. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. Best part is when he got back and screamed "what the hell is wrong with you!" Edit I truly am a monster inside.

5 Antwortenreally your worried about people getting free shit in a random drop game lol i find this very funny when i have put in a lot of hours seen people get amazing things for doing very little!! so what shit happens in the end all that matters is that ya have fun and get your moneys worth!!! lets try to have more fun and less bitching!!
-
Way to go, -blam!- those people.
-
We breath through you savior of strikes
-
5 AntwortenGuy afked in my strike killed him about 50 times in my sparrow then went and finished the strike while my mate kept killing him didn't manage to get the boot but sent me death threats and told me that I'm a c**t and I ruin the game and reported me to destiny and Microsoft then he messaged my clan to boot me as I'm ruining the clans name and mentioned that he was just waiting there for us to finish the strike and then we started killing him clan leaders my mate lol

3 AntwortenAfk? Ppl are using KEYBOARDS to play this game??
-
Funny. I saw someone doing this by "rubber banding" the controller. So I waited until we got to the end part and made sure he was in the middle where everything can attack him (dust palace) and took my other teammate and returned to orbit. I wonder how many times he died while I wasn't wasting my time watching 🙈
-
Don't waste your time just return to orbit
-
I just run the strike. I've had 2 afk'ers many times. Just do it alone.
-
I approve of this post. You get about a solid minute then everyone should start doing this.
-
2 AntwortenOdd, if you were so good, why does it matter if players are afk ? Odd that, also do you know why they are afk ?, well no you don't. But you do you feel the need to rant on the forums, yep
-
1 AntwortenHow long does one need to be gone to be considered "afk"? Is it instant? If my kid starts crying and I tend to them and am gone for 1minute is that too long?
-
They serious brah
-
1 AntwortenI had one yesterday just glitch through the first 3 waves of fallen in nexus (wtf?) and then sit on a post at the boss just waiting for us to take it down for him, I went next to him to push him down but he started dancing when he saw I couldn't tackle him down from there..
-
Maybe he/she just wanted that sweet 69
-
I approve of this message.

*giggle* 69 PLFFFT

You sir, deserve a cookie
