I EARNED my Ice Breaker, ABSOLUTELY must read.
Oh, congratulations Christmas noobs and Bungie. Destiny is dead. I quit.
Do you know what I had to go through to get my Ice Breaker?
Firstly I had to start Crota's End. It required moving a cursor to the exact spot, not exactly easy. THEN, I had to stand on a plate for 30 seconds to form a bridge. Thirty ... three oh. Stop and count that out, it's actually a long time. Then I endured a horrifying fall into the Hell Mouth. I couldn't see the ground or sky for about 10 seconds. And then there was the hardest part.
Get ready for it.
Make sure no young ones read this, it might give em nightmares.
THEN, I had to walk to the first chest. It was pitch black. The "weight of darkness" rose to a bone chilling 5. It was as dark as the bowels of loneliness and there were thrall all around ... well, none attacked me but I COULD hear them, and they sure sound scary. After walking about 30 meters through that gauntlet of nightmarish fear, I held X for what seemed like forever for a chest to open.
Then I got - nay - EARNED - my Ice Breaker (well, my second one, I bought my first of Xur - shhhh). It was damn hard work! It was so scary I'm still seeing a therapist about it. But the main point is ... I forget, but I know Bungie ruined the game.
I quit.
Edit 1: obligatory comment about my surprise at the number of responses
Edit 2: obligatory calling attention to the fact this is thread is trending - in a somewhat vain - yet giddy - tone like I'm receiving a prestigious award and not just a video game forum (stopping just short of thanking God and everyone who supported me).
Edit 3: sudden inflated ego fuels superiority complex, morphing into faux-activism as I begin calling for people to rally, and bump so we can get Bungie to hear our voices!

2 AntwortenActually you if anything didn't earn it you got lucky from a random exotic chest while people that are buying icebreaker spending 18 strange coins attained from weekly heroic strikes your saying standing on a bridge then dying till the chest spawned in the first door is earning it. 7 AntwortenThat easy chest at crota's end was a mistake by them... You called that earned? I saw level 27's with no VoG raid experience not even a single piece if Vog gear or weapon get G-horn,icebreaker,suros from that first chest. Bungie should have reseted anybody who got an easy Exotic from that.

Haha I gotta say I got a good laugh out of this one. I think it's good we all have IB now, because that just means better (equipped) raid partners for those of us that don't have a friend group that raids.

1 AntwortenEveryone that bought it had to earn the coins to buy IB. Just like you had to earn the money to buy whatever system you play on. Quit whining and leave if that's what you want. Every item everyone has they had to earn in some way, shape or form. Some ways of earning them are just more time consuming, not more difficult just time consuming.

1 AntwortenI wonder what percentage of the community have been carried through Nightfalls, Weekly. Getting coins for free piggy backing on friends . I get non stop spam message from little scrub kids wanting help with the Nightfall/Weekly. your a level 27 maybe do the work like most of us. The percentage of people that played from day one and did the content like Bungie wants us to . I would say it would maybe be 10% of the entire player base on all 4 platforms do the content the way Bungie wants us to... The word "earn" should never be talked about well not on these forms at least... I have 20days played and my friend just got the game 2 weeks ago. So as he got to level 27 and did the nightfall he got Red Death, On to the weekly 9 coins and a Heavy Legendary engram witch turned into Gjallarhorn. So now on to VOG maze chest he got Plan C and for Atheon got Hardlight. He's a 29 now so we did Crota. First chest befor the patch he pulled the Turth .. Then on Crota he got the Ship,Helmet,Shader, The mark for his Hunter, Black Hammer and suros. Wait not done yet still rubbing salt in we played 2-3 hours of ROC Strikes and he got Crest of Alpha Lupi and Patience and Time. All this Loot he got was within 3 days maybe playing for 2-4 hours per day. And with Xur selling the IB he now has all worth while Exotics . How is it that some one that got the game 2 weeks ago have so much.. Just show Bungie does not respect Vet players at all . RNG BULL SH!T

Yes we've earned the icebreaker because we've worked hard getting strange coins and saving up for this moment. And RNG is not earning a weapon, I received the Ghorn 1.0 from the nightfall and did not claim that I "earned it" I decided that I was one lucky mother -blam!-er haha.
