why do we need more? to be honest I wish they never added any until the expansion in septemeber. Exotic guns should be a lot rarer than they are (in terms of how many different ones there are, not in how many people can get them).

You do realise having more variation of exotics will make each individual one harder to obtain because they are more possibilities? I want more exotics, I don't ever want the drop rate to go up but just more variation, I have already collected 16 exotics so more would be fun to try and collect. Legendaries just don't cut it.

Well, come the end of the game basically the main thing to do is try and get all the exotics. Plus they are the most interesting guns. Without them, everyone could have all the guns they could ever want in a matter of weeks.

Lets break this down. Exotic difficulty to obtain = -blam!-ing easy except ghorn. Exotic individuality = -blam!-ing zero, we all use the exact same one. Legendary difficulty to obtain = -blam!-ing easy, but very -blam!-ing hard to obtain one with roles you love. Legendary indivudality = -blam!-ing huge, except for store bought ones. So don't say you could have all the guns in a matter of weeks if you wanted purples, it would be much faster to get FB, IB, HoC than to get three random purples, all with perfect roles.

errrrr...exotics can not re roll, legendaries can. There are literally thousands of possible legendary guns. Even if you were to just buy all the faction ones you could only buy 2 every 3 weeks from crucible/vanguard per account (so 6 every 3 weeks max). It is much, much easier to collect all exotics. Collecting legendarys and trying to get sick rolls is what you should be doing at end game.

If you want to go ahead and collect 100's of versions of the same legendary weapons which by the way 80% of are not even that great, just to get different rolls then go ahead but you will be the only one for sure mate. It's not all that easy to obtain exotics with the exception of Xur's weekly offering.

3 exotics a week from nightfall, 5 a week from raids, 1 from xur. I would say it -blam!-ing is (except ghorn). Also at least legendaries have individuality, every damn suros is exactly identical. It's bad enough we are all stuck using the same god damn armor, at least getting sick ass roles on legendarys gives us the chance for other players to be in awe of our luck and our amazing OP legendary gun.

You cannot garuntee any of those exotics except the one from Xur, I doubt anyone has earned 8 exotics in a week mate. Maybe in PvP all your legendaries might be advantageous. I think it's better to collect exotics rather than 10 or 20 of the same legendary weapon with different perks, like I said most of them are not even worth the effort. I have to agree with you on the perk sets for exotics though, keep the same main 2 for each exotic but switch up the ones in between and that would be golden.

My point is that collecting awesome legendarys is fun, collecting exotics is not.

Opinion. I think both are fun. Collecting exotics is a fixed objective, collect 23 (soon 24) and you are done. Legendaries however, is practicalliy without end (except for raid guns, those are collectable too). Both appeal to me. At least with exotics you are assured you can keep your beloved weapon after a dlc is released. I had to say goodby to a lot of weapons with awesome perks, but getting outclassed with mweh weapons, but a higher damage output. Its going to take a while to find the right guns again, but by the time i have what i want, the next dlc will be right around the corner.

Well he is right, and you confirmed it too. Getting good legendaries with the right perks is a lot harder than collecting exotics.
