Situational decision. I leveled my defender first because I find it more useful for the weekly heroic, nightfall, and raids. Weapons of light for the win.

Striker because it adheres most to my play style (which is, go in guns blazing and don't stop till all the bad guys are dead)

Defender if you plan on doing things with randoms, having weapons of light or blessing is always appreciated. If you want to have fun, though, striker is a lot more fun to me.

Depends on what activities are most important to you. Defender is king in raids, nightfalls, someone posted below. However, striker good for all of he over stuff. AND, striker is more fun.

As much as I've used defender and swear by it. I love striker as well, it's alot more fun to use and the flashbangs can be deadly in pve. I think either one is a good option to start with you can't choose wrong

Both, but start with striker.

if you're playing alone I would use striker, if you're playin with people I would use defender.
