What's the point in the vog now?
Does anyone know?just seems a bit silly that it even exists now the there is ce?well done bungie for making an entire raid COMPLETELY useless.....
Just to point out I love vog. But thats why it's annoying - apart from mythoclast and fate bringer there's no point in doing it. All the armour etc is now next to useless as well.

I like helping noobs through it. I have a lot of fun running the vog. Crota raid is also full of people just wanting to cheese it so it's hard to find a legit team. (I do admit to cheesing it though when lacking time)

Also if you are still doing the VOG raid and deleted your VOG raid gear then you're an idiot. They have perks that help you out and make destroying Pretorians and Oracles worthwhile.

Honestly, the weapons are still great, 300 vs 331 is not a big difference. The armor is outclassed, but that's a minor thing. And exotics can be upgraded. It's the only place to get the vex mythoclast. And finally, fun.

Materials and fun. It's typical in a game like this to make older content obsolete as new content is released, though Bungie is doing it on a condensed timescale. I'm not sure why they didn't make a good (VoG), better (CE), best (HoW raid) system before making the gear available from vendors, but it does prevent people from getting stuck behind old content. Which is a flaw in the light level system imo. I hope they learn from all this and make some great strides in the future. But we'll have to wait and see.

all the weapons, we still need an abundance of ascendant energy, and you have 3(6 if you run normal and hard) attempts to get exotic weapons(gorgon chest and atheon)

Buddy of mine doesn't have crucible or vanguard commendations so the VOG gear is better than most that he owns...

Ascendant materials, FUN (mostly this), and a chance at Exotics (even if they are 1.0s). The big draw is the chance of acquiring Fatebringer. Mythoclast as well. The collector in me also wants full VoG armor sets for all three classes (I'm a couple of pieces shy on my Warlock and Titan). Also, one of these days I'd like to make a serious go at the Flawless Raider trophy, as I would very much like to have the Destiny Platinum.
