This is not to say you have to be good at PvP in order to be good at PvE, but if you are good at PvP I'll take you in a raid any day.

Yeah. Sure. Run and slide around shot gunning things. Don't think that'll get many people through the strikes and raids.
-
1 AntwortenMaybe if in pvp you had to stand on a pressure plate while the other team comes at you from every direction.........
-
I'd be more likely to agree if the PvP wasn't respawn based and a majority of the players I see doing well didn't run around almost exclusively spamming shotguns and fusions, lonewolfing it the entire way. Skirmish is the only type I see that requires skills that map well to PvE.
-
The problem with your logic is good pvp players tend to be very aggressive imo that doesn't always translate well to pve as there are times you have to just sit back and hold tight. My play styles are completely different pve/pvp.
-
2 AntwortenNot true, pve requires skills (mainly communication and cooperation) not required in pvp and vice versa. In pvp you can easily lone wolf it all. A raid is vastly different. Besides, its really not hard to get a good kd in pvp, so how do you judge a good pvp player?
-
Exactly right. It's why I like to test someone's skill in pvp. If they are amazing there you know they will be good in a raid.

We'll said

How often do you PvP where you have to rely on communication with 2-5 other people? Seems a bit drastic of a blanket statement.

4 AntwortenI have been in the raid only a few times... Usually there are too many people trying to lead... My son and I got together with some friends (met through destiny)... And we beat the whole vault in less than 1.5 hours... My second completion... It worked because of the communication... I simply asked what they wanted me to do... The experienced players discussed, and that was that... One was elected to lead, we all took direction and called out if we needed backup or cleansed... Templar never teleported once... Teamwork requires people to follow the leader, provide real time feedback, and get over themselves... I have to say that it was really easy that time... Btw one player did not have a mic... He just followed directions... The other times I have played everyone else argued about strategy, and it was a miracle the time we actually completed it... That being said... I will take orders from anyone that has the experience... I have seen tactics that work better, but I'm not ever going to be the one to argue and break the team... I would like to thank those I have met that have mentored my son and myself... Love the community at its finest.

1 AntwortenI wouldn't say I am good at either, but I am better with PvE. I get too distracted in PvP to ever be good. If I see someone tea-bagging or hiding with a shotgun I will spend the rest of that match harassing them. The whole taking it serious thing goes out the window, I just have fun annoying the hell out of them.
-
hello friend gamer. I must agree with you on the specific topic that you are portraying. PvPers are better suited in situational awareness, I apologize if I do not make sense, blame it on the wine and not on me.
-
It is that way in most games. PvP'ers are just more adaptable and do better in a fast paced environment. I've always been solid at PvP and it has been quite easy to outperforme PvE players in their environment :)
-
Obviously a troll post designed to anger people, but there's definitely some truth to this. If you can handle unpredictable PvP opponents then you should be fine against the predictable and repetitive PvE enemies. There are exceptions though. I know a guy who's a solid PvP player, with a 3 K/D in Crucible. We tried running the raid with him and he refused to listen to us when we explained how to do the bridge... he was completely determined to try and lone wolf it. Didn't end well.
-
I wouldn't say so. My budy who is a beast in pvp isn't as good as I am in pve. He plays more agressively and always tries to rush through. He gets killed way more ofter than me and in the end I have to save his ass.
-
I'd agree with that statement. I came from Halo, COD, and Battlefield and I was always decent (and good) at the games and now do well in PVE.
-
2 AntwortenPvP sucks. Prove me wrong!
-
you make it seem like its hard to point and shoot things in Destiny actually after playing the raid with lots of people you would think this is the hardest game created
-
Accually pretty true. I know people who suck and hate crucible but are excellent at Pve. I for one am good at crucible and Pve.
-
That's a whole lot of stupid. On a platter with retard sprinkles.
-
Imo, there are some games where the PvE does a decent job of preparing you for the PvP. For example, I found playing Halo on legendary difficulty did a fair job. Destiny, however, is not one of those games.
-
6 AntwortenCorner camping with a shotgun and spamming supers doesn't help in the raid..
-
1 AntwortenSliding with shotguns is not a good idea to kill Crota, all though you're definitely the type of person to ask to cheese the raid. Pvp isn't hard. Go find a sense of accomplishment in the real world.
-
Exactly.
-
Yea this is true for the most part. But a lot of pvp strictly players are just intimidated by the raid because they domt wanna have to communicate with other players. So they lack the qualities good PVE players have. I feel if i didnt -blam!- around so much in pvp id be a lot better. But even so id say im pretty good at both

Bearbeitet von vKRAGOTHv: 12/26/2014 12:08:33 AMFalse, you can be a whiney shit at PVP and be good and still be AWFUL self centered raid member at PVE. FTFY: if you are good at PVE it's because you communicate and are a team player, if you are good at PVP it can be the same, but also includes generally good reflexes and reaction. The two have very little to do with each other.
-
I pretty much agree with this. PvP skill is a solid base for PvE. But the typical casual raider is a complete scrub in PvP. I enjoy both and am decent overall.
