EDIT: OKAY GUYS I TURNED IT INTO PARAGRAPHS QUICK ON MY PC. SORRY! Just as a quick note: this was typed on my phone. I apologize in advance for ranting and terrible paragraph structure. Gta V has been overall the best when it comes to free content and add ons. Sure they made it harder and harder to make money. Sure clothing items for 2 grand is over priced. Sure heists still haven't been added and they were supposed to be upon release. Overall, gta and rockstar have listened to their community. After taking a break from the game to play hockey games and among other indie games i went to Xbox one and invested 95 dollars into Destiny because i purchased the dlc. When you compare the special events and rewards you get for gta compared to Destiny it is unmatched. Halloween for example. Tons of free clothes, masks and other items added for purchase. Destiny? A couple of one time use jackolanterns for our head for 30 minutes. No new shaders. No new creepy guns or just black and orange colored. No vendors to give us these things or at least make it available for purchase. Destiny punished players for grinding and playing their raid by adding commendations which renders your ranks above three useless. They didn't reward you for your past work. They hurt you by putting you on the same playing field as someone who put in half the time. The end game gear is now weaker than the gear found in the vendors which makes all that hard work useless. All those exotics you upgraded and grinded for and spent your glimmer and your strange coins and upgrade materials on? They are as powerful in the raid as a blue weapon is against enemies in the vault of glass. Speaking of weapons and the vault of glass. Remember that vision of confluence you loved or your auto shotgun? They can't be upgraded past 300 making them worth less than any new purples that drop or you get from vendors. Once again. Your favorite gun is useless. The cars and your favorite weapons don't ever become useless in gta. There's countless clothes options for purchase rather than hoping you get a shader from the cryptarch that you haven't received 4 times already. Just as a personal example. I am a level 50 and level 10 on my two characters. I have received thunderdevil and (the light blue artic shader which it's name escapes me) 3 times each. I have never received god of war. The highly sought after red shader. Good news though for thunderdevil fans. The outfitter sells it every other refresh. Now that I've ranted and gotten way off topic, how about we address Christmas? Since the 23rd gta surprised its players with 4 or more cars, 3 new weapons, and countless free clothes. Snow falls upon the city as it did last year on Christmas eve and day. All players were given a firework rocket launcher which was introduced during the 4 th of July update and dlc. It was given the other day with 8 rockets added to their characters to use to celebrate. All unannounced until release. Merry Christmas from rockstar. Our beloved bungie said there will be "stocking stuffers" given to us after the holidays are over. I had not played Destiny in a week or two due to the horrible dlc. Considering what i paid i was very displeased with how i was punished even though i dedicated 500 hours to this game despite the faults.At 3 am est Christmas morning i decided to see if anything special was up at the tower. Maybe the presents had arrived as they do on Christmas. After not being able to get on the servers thanks to merrionberry i reset my Xbox and downloaded an update. Surprise maybe? Maybe there would be a Christmas tree in the tower like in our apartments in gta. Maybe just some simple light snowfall?? Maybe this "stocking stuffer" arrived. After receiving enough presents from rockstar to fill a small truck, i figured bungie, who is so famous for giving back to fans in halo would give us something after the horrible back lash the game has been given. Almost as an apology to the fans and a make-up gift to make us say "ya know bungie, you hurt us by giving us a terrible product for 95 bucks, then slapped me in the face for grinding your game that is built on grinding, but this is pretty awesome and maybe i can forgive you and we can build our relationship again." So after the ten minute update i was able to connect. I swiftly selected my character and jumped into my useless ship that i purchased for thousands of glimmer so i could be under the glimmer cap when glimmer didn't matter. So i watched myself fly through the air, actually excited to reach the tower to see what awaited me. I landed looked around and saw: nothing. An eerie silence was upon the tower. Guardians like myself checking the post master and the cryptarch to see if something arrived. We came up empty handed. "WAIT. maybe xur is here!!" So everyone runs around to his spawn points to see if he brought us gifts. Again. Nothing. "Maybe the outfitter has a cool new red and green shader!" No dice. Well." Maybe the speaker of that ball in the sky we still know nothing about has a special class item for the holidays". No such luck. Merry freakin Christmas Guardians. You glad you spent 60 or 95 on this game? Or even worse. You bought special edition with the ship and ghost skin. If so? I'm really sorry. This game had the potential to be one of the greatest fps games of all time. Boy did they choke it away and they're laughing all the way to the bank. I'm sorry you guys reading this will be as disappointed as me. I really feel like i owe you guys an apology for being a defender of bungie and this game. I feel cheated. Take care all.
