I've only done it "legit". But who's to say what is legit??? The raids are designed to be a puzzle / something you need to work out. If someone has worked out an alternate way to do it, fair play. If bungie doesn't want them to be able to do it certain ways it is up to them to stop it in the first place. Not ban them after?! There certainly hasn't been a message from bungie saying the kneeling way is "against terms". I just hope for a patch soon. The normal way is really fun... That and all I keep getting is the stupid fusion rifle and it sucks a little to know people cheated black hammer haha
