Ok so most people are now saying that Fallout 4 will kill destiny, which it probably will. Another game that could kill Destiny according to you guys is MGS5.

1 AntwortenPeople do this with every game that gets this big. People have been calling every MMO since WoW came out the "WoW killer" and it's still around and very strong. The only game that's going to kill Destiny is Destiny, just like the only game that will kill WoW is WoW.

I was hopping "Assassin's Creed Unity" would kill my "Destiny" addiction, but I haven't even started the assassin's mission. I've spent more time playing "Steamworld: Dig" than "Unity". (I don't know why, but I love mining games). But now I think "Infamous: First Light" is a good reason to take a break from "Destiny". Neon was my favorite power in "Infamous: Second Son".

I think my awesomeness will

12 million plus gamers is almost 8% of all console owners. That is huge. It is doubtful anything can really derail this train.

The witcher 3 is going to be taking my game play time from destiny for quite a while.

3 AntwortenNo game can kill destiny, but bungie can, and so far they're doing a fantastic job of it.

If they'll ever release ffxiv for the Xbox one I'd probably spend more time on it but I'd always come back to destiny at times.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Wildcard1701: 12/29/2014 3:53:37 PMThe only game that can kill Destiny is Destiny. If Bungie doesn't correct some of the issues that a majority of the playerbase has expressed then they will stop playing. Destiny has the simultaneously envious and unenvious position of being the first to introduce this kind of game to the console market. Even with all its issues, the game is immensely popular. Other developers and publishers will see this as a potentially profitable genre to get into, and will make games to compete with Destiny. You mentioned The Division, which is the only game on the horizon that will give Destiny a run for its money. It won't kill it though. It's just different enough to appeal to a certain segment of players, including those that are currently playing Destiny. Division is third person and cover based combat, with a bigger emphasis on the RPG elements. Massive has said repeatedly in interviews that Division is an RPG first, and a third person action shooter second. Destiny is an FPS first, and an RPG second. We will see several games in this genre in the next few years. Given the huge costs to build and maintain these types of games, only the big boys will be able to play in this sandbox. Activision and Ubisoft are already in the market (or soon will be in Ubisoft's case), which leaves EA as the only other major publisher with the ability to back this type of endeavor. Microsoft and Sony could also create an exclusive game, as they have the financial ability and infrastructure to do so, as well as a stable of house studios capable of developing it. None of these competitors will kill Destiny, but Bungie and Activision will have to be on guard. The Division and any others that come along will inevitably have things that they do better than Destiny, and will pull players who want those things away. This is a good thing for us gamers. We are the consumers in this equation, and simple economics tells us that competition is good for the consumer. Personally, I love Destiny. Even with all of its problems, I still love it and play almost every day. That being said, I am very excited for The Division.
