I've followed these stream of threads for quite some time now, never really chimed in because I never really had anything to add, you've done a bunch of research and it shows, and is very likely true. The parallels are very noticeable. Anyways, I find it interesting that the sword Joyeuse, if I read your thread correctly, has "Anyone's Sword" inscribed on it, in latin, right? Instead of drawing parallels between the protagonist in Bungie's next IP and Charlemagne, I think there is a possibility that Bungie will let the player be who they want to be. If the speculation that there will be factions is correct (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, Osisris, Seven Seraphs, etc.) this is a possibility which I'm excited about. And there was that unknown knight who acquired Joyeuse right? I just wanted to chime in about that, and say great read. I'm always following these threads :)
