Think about this..
If Xür had sold something we all really wanted (G-Horn, Ice Breaker etc) We'd have to spend out one week later to upgrade it to V2.0 so what he's effectivly done is saved our money. Buy some exotic shards, Heavy amo synth and wait it out. Its all good! He might be a prick but his hearts in the right place.. I think.. he is an alien after all.
*EDIT* Well this thread has been a huge success. For those who go it, well done and for those who didn't, good effort.
A few things to point out.
1. Post DLC, any exotics that drop will be V2.0 so no need to upgrade.
2. You don't have to max a weapon in order to upgrade it.
3. Its Flavour in England, which is where I am from.

5 AntwortenAt least someone agrees with me. I bought the helm of inmost light, about 35 heavy ammo synths and approx. 8 exotic shards to prep for the DLC. I'm glad he re-sold a weapon because I did not want to waste coins and an exotic shard to upgrade something I just bought.

So you are saying those of us who what ghorn, have work doing hard raids,, nightfalls strikes, and the forsaken thing called the cruicble for 3 months to not get a drop was given a favor by him not selling it? On a funny note, I heard him say that he is the garbage collector for the nine.

6 AntwortenWhat if his heart is in his scrotum? Is it still in the right place?
At least then getting kicked in the nads would actually kill you instead of just making you wish you were dead...
1 AntwortenThey're trying to make exotics more special and more rare. Like in any other MMO (WoW, Eq2,Gw2) the really good weapons and armor took awhile to get and max out. Eq2 had hella quests you had to do to get your mythical( basically exotic just only your class in that game), Gw2 you have to farm and do a lot of work legendary and Ascendant armor and weapons. They are trying to make it more of an MMO and compete with more of the top competitors. Yes it stinks bc now I have to re upgrade everything but it means more time spent in game playing with people and working on something you absolutely want. Just my thoughts and opinions:)

Fair point, indeed.

2 Antwortenim glad he didnt bring G-HORN
-
only thing worth spending coin on until we get his new version are the exotic shards
-
Thats fine at least we would have a 300 badass weapon.

5 AntwortenBungie knew if Xur sold Engrams this week, that we'd vault them til Tuesday, just like that one update where they finally said, 'all rare engrams are rare or better, all legen' engrams are legen' or better' We all said bank your engrams til the update, then Bungie came out and said, 'all legendary engrams in your inventory will become rare after the update, because they were probably rare anyway. take your chances now.' They want us to spend some strange on exotic shards this week. I'm sure after the update/DLC, engrams will be back in stock, and we can spend it like it's tax refund day, hoping for either new32 replacements of the gear we already have, or stuff we can break down for shards. They know we buy gear just to break it down for the materials, so they're delaying the inevitable for a week. Every exotic weapon or armor you have right now takes what, 2?, e-shards, one to buy the v2.0, and 1 to max it out. Buy a couple this week to make Bungie happy and feel like they won, then as soon as engrams are back, spam the cryptarch like you're a porn site, and get your motes for shards exchange, haha

I totally agree with your post...I still bought a couple random armor pieces I didn't have yet. I knew I shouldn't but......
-
I couldnt agree more
-
People want it now because with the addition of new weapons and armor, the probability of being rewarded the item you want/need drastically reduces with the infusion of new items. It makes perfect sense why people wanted xur to sell something new or hasn't sold in a long time.

1 AntwortenIs he selling heavy ammo?!?!?!
-
I agree with you and see the light in your post, but at the same time think about it, with the new things being released, awesome that we get them yet, but the old things like ghorn and icebreaker that we want will take even longer to come, we're gonna want them at some point and have to spend/upgrade at some point, and he might not have the upgrade dr available when he actually sells it
-
Bought 53 heavy ammo Synthesis , Saving up for them !
-
1 AntwortenYou assume those items will be available for upgrade right away plus. YOU HAVE TO HAVE ORIGINAL ITEM! -blam!-!
-
Actually no. At least I would have it. I would rather have it and spend more than not and wait another month.
-
7 AntwortenYeah, he did us a favor, alright. He replaced the exotic engram with a shard, decreasing our abilities to spend another useless currency, Motes of god damn Light, which we could use to buy something useful either for keep or breakdown, a random exotic item, god damn it. So yeah thanks Xur for not only sucking beyond all suckage but thanks for really sticking it to us with your new inventory layout and losing an exotic.
-
He saved us like, a couple of coins....
-
so you are saying that instead of making more room in his inventory and selling more things wasn't the right call? make him sell less?
-
Good thing I kept my other tree hard lights. Free three exotic shards, which means I can get Plan-C without worrying about not being able to upgrade my exotics.

1 AntwortenDespite not planning on buying anything at least its not more voidfang vestments or sunbreakers
