Why Bungie is doing the reset
It's quite simple really, Desiny lacks content so in order to keep us playing as long as possible all our gear, guns and reputation for all of our characters need to be reset or are getting reset which is going to take a lot of time to recover. So Instead of adding more content to the game they're making us waste time basically playing the game again starting fresh.
Thanks a lot, is this how Destiny 2 is going to be? Is it also going to lack LOTS of content that's either originally in the game and then cut out to be sold later or just wanted the game to be out as soon as possible.
If there was trading everyone would be geared faster which Activi$ion doesn't want. They don't care if we don't like it they already have our money.

The whole gear needed to lvl thing is problematic, in order to make the game viable for new players or casuals they have to constantly have resets and offer easier access to previously top lvl gear. example, if a friend gets the game now it would be stupid for them to grind for a month just to be able to barely join you for the new raid. Its unfortunate that the game turned out this way but that's what the player base consists of.

I think it could be more that they want to "level the playing field" ahead of the next Iron Banner event on the 16th of December. This way everyone that's 29/30 gets kicked back to 27, and they have to work their weapons and armor back up to the appropriate levels. The truly hardcore will be right back to where they were after a day or two, but most people will have to grind their way over the course of a week or two--during which Iron Banner will have already started. Sadly, this makes it even harder for those level 28-29 guys to get the new level 31 Iron Banner gear, which was ostensibly the point of having Lord Saladin sell them in the first place. Of course, we all saw what happened with The Queen's Wrath, so maybe Bungie isn't as benevolent in handing out gear as we thought they were...

1 AntwortenTrading would ruin the game, imagine people giving other people REAL money for exotics, Madden Ultimate team has this problem, any game with trading has this problem, imagine some poor dude so desperate for an Ice Breaker that he's willing to pay some one else for it. Bungie doesn't want to create something like this.

You apparently don't understand, it's not to give us new context, it's to prevent people from having all their exotics maxed out weak one, imagine. 6 ice breakers or 6 gjallherhorns vs a new boss? It wouldn't stand a chance and their wouldn't be a challenge.

So they never have a decrease in sales and can stay on their mighty ego horse they somehow climbed on from creating the halo series and to fund destiny 2 which they shouldn't be working on until this game is finished, but why didn't they finish it if they said they worked on it for 10 years? Because they actually didn't it was another hype tool to get you to buy the game like all the empty promises offered at e3 and dev blogs etc... But why would the general populous care or even question these problems due to the target audience being 12 year olds. They are compliant and have a hard time grasping game mechanics. This is why.

18 AntwortenThe upgraded exotics that get reset will level faster. Why are you looking at it so negatively? They are giving us the option to keep the exotics we like and keep them from becoming obsolete.

3 AntwortenIt's not that they thought it was a good idea, it's just that Destiny is such an awfully coded game (and outdated enough) that they can't make it any other way without putting months or even years of work into it. During the development process there underwent a serious change that forced them to write over previous builds. This limits what they can still do with Destiny as of now. This means no more vault space, no ship races or space battles, none of the community's wonderful ideas. They only have the capacity to finish their already planned DLC.

You're over thinking this. They implemented the reset to keep current exotics at (Crota's End) raid level. As you know, Crota's End will start at level 30, rendering current Exotics weaker in comparison. Bungie made it so that when you reset, then fully upgrade again, it will be stronger than 300 damage, which i love. Besides, if you disagree then just don't reset, its optional.

I have like 18 exotic weapons does that mean I will have to reset all of them-3 that are repeats
